Volunteers Step Forward

BANG!

A gunshot rang out, and the human-shaped target that had been walking on the shooting range was knocked down by the bullet, leaving a hole in its forehead.

"You really are better with a pistol," Christine stood next to Ming Fa and remarked.

"Could you please say one less thing, Gwenpool?" Ming Fa removed his earmuffs. These earmuffs filtered out excessive noise, allowing only voices to enter the ears.

Gwenpool was Christine's nickname because she loved to talk, and sometimes she could be quite sarcastic.

"Alright, tough guy, pass me the gun," Christine said nonchalantly. She was quite fond of her Gwenpool nickname, actually.

She stepped up and immediately raised the gun, squeezing the trigger! Another human-shaped target fell to the ground with a hole in its forehead.

"Your shooting speed is still the same," Ming Fa clapped his hands three times, and Christine responded with a smug smile.

Ming Fa had actually wanted to say "and still the same old Gwenpool," but he thought better of it.

Suddenly, the warning lights on the wall lit up in red, and the announcement blared, "Emergency assembly!" Footsteps outside the door became chaotic as everyone rushed, trying to be the first to reach the lecture hall.

Ming Fa and Christine exchanged glances before running outside.

All the members gathered in the lecture hall. Non-combat personnel stood at the back, watching General Nolan's PPT presentation, while the combat personnel sat at the front, listening to General Nolan's speech. Some combat personnel had to squat on the floor due to a lack of seats.

"Now, can you all see this picture?" General Nolan pointed to the photo displayed on the PPT. It showed a barren cliff with a surging sea below, even though the waves in the photo were frozen, they seemed to be trying to devour the cliff like a beast.

"I need a few brave souls to accompany me down there to connect the water pipes because we are about to set up camp on this cliff," General Nolan pointed to the cliff in the photo and continued, "We will camp above this cliff. First, it gives us a geographical advantage, allowing us to attack those monsters from above. Second, it provides us with surveillance of their movements, as the latest intelligence indicates that the monsters have turned their camp into a shipyard. The exact location is in the South China Sea, specifically at Cape Soya in Japan. We are currently at the farthest edge of Zhejiang, China. If the world map is not deceiving us, they will definitely flow downstream, and that's when we launch our attack."

"I know we've lost million times before, but we've also won against them. What we need to do now is to try and win one more time, to provide a future for the children in the refugee camp."

General Nolan's words were spoken in a casual tone, but they struck a chord with everyone present.

Immediately, Ming Fa and Christine raised their hands, followed by Ryan, Huang Kai, Peter, and Huangkai. After they raised their hands, General Nolan called them over to his side and closed the PPT presentation.

"All right, everyone else, help scout the area for any enemies. Non-combat personnel! Go get the water pipes!" General Nolan declared, and as he finished speaking, he suddenly walked over to Ming Fa and the others.

"Okay, soldiers, I'm asking you to give it your all because here, we are using our bodies to pave a path of hope for the children," the general suddenly took a deep breath. "Can you do it?"

"We can!"

All the volunteers shouted with all their might, as if they could break free from the encirclement and escape through sheer force.
