Chapter 5: The little Wooden Box

After a brief moment of struggling, I finally deciphered the code on how to use the inventory system. I felt a pang of embarrassment as I realized how straightforward it was. All I needed to do was tap on the icon of the item I wanted, and it would materialize in my hand as if by magic. To return an item to the inventory, I simply had to push it through the panel while holding it, and just like that, it was safely stored away.

Armed with this newfound understanding, I was eager to put it to the test. I started with smaller items, like flint and stone, easily pulling them out and stowing them away with a sense of satisfaction. But curiosity gnawed at me, and I began to wonder just how large of an item I could store in the inventory. Could it hold a weapon? Or perhaps even something larger?

With a surge of determination, I decided to conduct an experiment. I approached a nearby tree stump that had been blocking my path. Gripping my fists tightly, I reached out towards the obstacle. It was definitely larger than the size of the panel. With a resolute thought, I willed the stump to enter the inventory, and poof, it disappeared from the world.

A rush of triumph surged through me as I realized the incredible potential of this inventory system. It was a game-changer.

Feeling emboldened, I began to imagine the possibilities. With the inventory, I could carry an arsenal of weapons, a treasure trove of valuable items, or even transport larger objects that would have been impossible to carry otherwise. I felt like I held a secret weapon in my arsenal, and the possibilities were endless.

With newfound confidence and excitement, I continued my quest, eager to put my inventory to the test in different scenarios. I was no longer limited by physical carrying capacity, and I knew that this discovery would open up new strategies and opportunities for me on my journey.

But first, I decided to open the starter package that God had left for me. Reaching towards the panel, I tapped on the icon of the little brown box, or should I say treasure chest, and it materialized in my hand.

I was captivated by its ornate exterior. The chest was exquisitely crafted, measuring about 20 cm by 18 cm by 18 cm. Its wood was of a rich, dark hue, polished to a lustrous sheen that reflected the surrounding light. The carvings on the chest were meticulous and elaborate, forming swirling patterns, intricate symbols, and fantastical creatures. 'God must have had fun making this one,' I thought.

The chest was further adorned with accents of gleaming metal, adding to its opulent appearance. The metalwork was intricate, featuring delicate filigree and tiny gemstones that caught the light, casting a mesmerizing sparkle.

At the center of the chest's lid, there was a small, ornate lock that seemed to be a work of art in itself. The lock was adorned with more gemstones, arranged in a pattern that seemed to hint at a hidden code or secret mechanism. It was evident that this lock was not only functional but also served as a piece of the chest's decorative design.

As I ran my fingers over the chest's surface, I could feel the smoothness of the wood and the coldness of the metal, marveling at the attention to detail and the craftsmanship that had gone into creating such a masterpiece. The chest exuded an air of mystery and intrigue, inviting me to uncover the treasures that lay within.

As I touched the lock of the little chest, the system panel flashed, and words appeared.

[Enter Password: ]

'Seriously, that's what the password was for?'

As I pondered the implications of using the password to unlock blueprints, a sense of curiosity washed over me. Did this mean that anyone with the password could gain access to these valuable items?

"I'll need to be extra cautious not to lose the password or let anyone overhear it," I mused to myself, though I had already been planning on being careful given the chaotic state of the world I found myself in.

With a glimmer of hope, I returned my gaze to the panel and tapped the screen, relieved to see a small keyboard appear in the familiar QWERTY format. 'This way, I won't have to speak the password aloud,' I thought, feeling a surge of relief.

I swiftly typed in the password, and the screen displayed [Enter Password: Dragons4life]. After hitting the enter key, I heard a series of clicks from the locking mechanism of the chest then a short pop, reminiscent of a can of Sprite being opened, minus the audible hiss.

As I fully opened the lid of the chest and peered inside, my heart sank. "What the fuck?!" I exclaimed in disbelief. The chest was empty. "Is God a troll?" I questioned, contemplating the possibility of a divine prank.

However, my attention was soon diverted to the announcements on the status tab. I opened the announcements, and rows of words filled the screen, beckoning me to read further.
