Chapter 293 : Underwater 3

As the second round of the Triwizard Tournament reached its peak, the atmosphere around the Black Lake was tense. Students and professors watched anxiously from the shore as the champions fought to rescue their loved ones from the depths of the lake.

In reality, this round, unlike the previous one where people actually had something to see, was pretty boring for the audience. None of them could see what was going on inside the water. Besides the champions, others were suffering from boredom at best.

But in a way, this was better because if others could have seen what was going on inside the water, then maybe Orion would have been more careful about what he was doing.

And that certainly included manhandling Daphne while fighting with the Kraken and, while at it, making sure she wouldn't get hurt. And how else was one supposed to do that besides hugging her all the time and acting like a hero?

Anyway, the real point was fighting the Kraken. Actually, it wasn't a real fight; Orion was just messing with the Kraken at this point. He wanted to end the fight in a few seconds, but then something very soft and warm came in contact with him, making him gulp. That, and him not doing anything but only spending time researching the servant seal on his hand, made it safe to say that he needed a little break.

'Five more minutes of this won't hurt anyone, right...?'

So mainly, the world above the water remained pretty much serene, if that world really means anything in this crazy situation. But not for long, as the water around them churned violently as soon as Orion was done playing.

With a single, concentrated release of his power, a brilliant, blinding blast of energy erupted from Orion. The force of the explosion shook the entire lake, sending a towering geyser of water skyward.

On the shore, students, professors, and even Dumbledore himself stood in shock as the lake's surface erupted. A massive column of water shot into the air, drenching those nearby. The power of the blast was unlike anything they had ever seen.

"Albus, what happened?" McGonagall asked with a worried face, as the explosion was so powerful that it threw gallons of water up into the air, around 30 or 40 meters in height.

The reason for her and others' worry was where that explosion took place; it was roughly where the students captured underwater were placed.

If only they knew that, just to save those students—no thanks to some idiots deciding to put them in slumber and bind them 15 meters below the water's surface—he attacked in a way that the explosion went upward and not towards those students.

As the water settled, gasps and murmurs spread through the crowd. Floating on the surface of the lake were the severed, lifeless tentacles of the Kraken. The once-mighty creature had been obliterated, its remains scattered across the water.

"Merlin's beard..."

"This is..."

"That boy, what is he thinking?"

When this happened, many were surprised. After all, how many wizards or witches are there who can kill a Kraken underwater?

Certainly not many, and certainly not like this. After all, it wasn't just the dead body of the Kraken—it was in pieces.

But a few knew who could have done this. Among those few were Dumbledore, McGonagall, and Nick.

Seeing this happen, they all instinctively knew who was behind it.

Dumbledore's usually calm expression faltered for a moment, his eyes widening in the sudden chaos caused by that problem child.

He honestly wasn't even worried about Orion. He could bet his 1.2-meter beard, which he had painstakingly grown and groomed over the last 30 years, that the boy was most likely getting bored and thought about going Kraken hunting.

'Calm down; there are too many people here. Just handle the situation first, talk with him later,' Dumbledore calmed himself, trying to remember his own childhood.

'Why are all Dumbledores this troublesome at that age? But even I certainly wasn't this troublesome,' Dumbledore muttered irritably.

He had long worried that the boy would pull something in front of others. The people in Hogwarts were used to this by now, and most of the things Dumbledore had suppressed by his side, but right now, people from the Ministry and other schools were here.

Since the day when Orion's blood test was done in Gringotts, Dumbledore has had a complicated mood. He finally knew that Dumbledore's blood would continue even after him and his brother, otherwise, both he and his brother would have been the last of their blood.

So he wanted to protect Orion now. Earlier, this protection was only because he wanted a successor; now, it was more in line with looking after a family.

'But that boy, why can't he learn some restraint?' Dumbledore cursed under his breath and sighed. He knew Orion was powerful, but this display of raw strength was beyond his expectations.

Orion finally emerged from the water, carrying Daphne in his arms. As he floated up in front of others, not even bothering to hide that he could fly without brooms from others, the fact that he did this also tied him to the earlier blast. Otherwise, at least there was still a way to hide who did it.

Orion, who was floating, didn't think too much about all this. He just looked down where the remains of the Kraken were floating and sighed.

'Did I become a little too strong? At least I have my hair.'

Orion knew that he might still not be strong enough to actually beat death, but still, he only cast a simple Disarmament Charm. That was enough to completely blast the entire Kraken up into the air and tear its body apart like Sukuna using his shrine.

'Using the wand right now is more like a necessity to use magic without making a commotion,' he thought while sighing, not even realizing that flying while carrying Daphne in a princess style without any broom or other magical artifact was making more of a commotion than the earlier blast.

After all, at least earlier people didn't know that he did it.
