[Chapter Size: 1900 Words.]
Third Person POV
Hogwarts.
...
...
"If you want to make a sword like this, it will be impossible, boy," Salazar simply scoffed.
"Even so, I insist that you answer my question," Snape spoke, waiting to hear what he wanted to know.
"Fine... although I don't believe you will manage it," Salazar said in the end. "First, you will have to convince a goblin to forge the metal you're seeing in this sword, which is extremely difficult. Second, only a master craftsman among the goblins can create it, which makes the task even more difficult. Then, the metal needs to be forged, which isn't cheap at all and several powerful potions will be made for its creation, I helped Godric Gryffindor, making some of these potions with him having to pay for all of them. And lastly, you need to use these ancient runes, like the ones you see on my cauldrons." He paused before continuing.
"That's why I believe creating a sword like this is a very difficult thing for you. Just give up or keep this one," he said.
"I can't, the sword belongs to another house," Snape spoke.
"These damn rules..." Salazar muttered.
"Even so, I'll try," Snape spoke, thinking about how he could accomplish this.
"Well, I would say it would be a waste of time, but that's your problem, another thing that helped Gryffindor make it, was introducing him to my first acquaintance from Africa, Adebayo Mwangi, who founded Uagadou. Still, Gryffindor had to use all his family's resources for this, almost going broke, something I doubt you have, besides, Gryffindor had trouble with the sick later on, claiming the sword belonged to them, it was a mess... those damn sick believe that everything they do, belongs to them by right, even being paid for the work." Snape listened to the portrait attentively and nodded.
"Well, that's interesting," Snape murmured, not finding anything impossible. However, he would have to talk to the goblins first and it would be difficult, since they no longer worked with blacksmiths and craftsmen since the revolt of Ranrok, which happened over 100 years ago. Even so, he would still try to talk to them, with them now all focused on the monetary power of the magical world, but would decide to see that later.
"Answer one last question, boy," the portrait broke the silence again.
"Speak," Snape spoke.
"What will you do with me?" Salazar asked, after all, he was just a portrait, but wanted to know what the boy would try to do with him.
"With you, I won't do anything," Snape responded, uninterested. "However, I would be interested in your collection."
The man looked at him for a moment, scratching his chin before giving a small smile. "Feel free, take everything you can," he simply spoke.
Snape narrowed his eyes, knowing that this man seemed to be offering him his items, which was very hard to believe when this same man had exclaimed various times as soon as he broke the door of the room. So he must be plotting something.
He continued looking at the books while going back to ignoring Salazar in the portrait. Snape kept reading until he finally got tired of seeing things without a very deep look into some books, while Salazar just remained silent, also looking at the boy as he saw him start to pack his things, placing books in his bag.
"Well, I'm going. I will fix all the holes and all the destruction I caused now," Snape spoke, starting to leave that room, since he had to fix both the door and the entrance to the bathroom before someone saw it.
He advanced while Salazar kept an interested eye on him. "Good luck..." was the only thing he spoke as Snape looked at him confused and quickly his attention went forward again.
As soon as Snape crossed the doorway line, suddenly, an explosion happened, making him quickly cross his arms being hit by a force. He was dragged backward, while his feet slid across the floor, still in a defensive mode, looking surprised at it. His gaze immediately turned to Salazar, who watched him amusingly.
"Did you really think you could leave here with my things?" Salazar said, with a satisfied tone.
"So, you enchanted all the items to not leave this room?" Snape murmured, already guessing what had happened.
"Exactly, boy. Did you really think the protection would only be by passing through the door? After all, even if you managed to break the protection at the entrance as my legitimate heir, I wouldn't let you leave with my things from here, since they are very dangerous. So, I enchanted all the items. To start, you can't even make a copy of the books or anything that is in this room. Second, you can't take anything from here. And even if you have knocked down the door with brute force, I doubt you can do the same with the items. In the end, you will have to be content with that," Salazar spoke with pride, showing how cunning he was when it came to keeping his own things, unlike his friends who should already have their things in the hands of students. He always felt taller than his peers at the time.
Snape sighed seeing that the situation was not as good as he hoped. He picked up a book and placed it in front of the door, until a shield appeared at that moment, shining and preventing the book from passing without damaging it. Snape saw this and tried something else.
He tried using his shadow steps, his special spell he created, and shadows emerged under his feet trying to cover him, but as soon as he turned into shadows, his body couldn't leave with his teleportation ability also not working. He was surprised that even the teleportation he developed couldn't break this barrier.
"I should have known it wouldn't be easy," he murmured.
With no choice, he just sighed in front of the amused look of the portrait, opening his bag and returning all the items he had taken.
"You see, boy, no one can beat Salazar Slytherin in terms of magic and curses," the portrait taunted.
"Alright, still, I can come back here another time and continue my studies of materials I wouldn't find in the forbidden section. So even so, I'm interested," Snape said, as he passed through the barrier this time without any item from Salazar.
"Tsk." Was the only thing Salazar responded.
He turned to the entrance on the other side, taking his wand from the inventory and quickly used a repair spell he had learned in these months for its utility. Although it was a sixth-year spell, he knew that this magic was quite important.
And so, the destroyed door began to close again, returning to its original form, while Snape saw the last looks of the portrait staring at him, before the door closed completely.
Snape sighed and headed out, returning to the middle of the Chamber where there was the dead basilisk he had faced before.
He approached the serpent and murmured to himself, "Well, certainly the materials are very valuable, but I certainly won't be removing parts of its body very easily... I need to first remove it from here." Snape examined the dead creature and how he could take advantage of it.
Without thinking much, he ended up calling for help. "Dobby." Having difficulty cutting it even with the magical blade. Then, he would have to take the creature to a safe place, he simply called Dobby, speaking his name.
Dobby appeared in the Chamber at his side, the next moment. "Master Snape!" He seemed excited, but his gaze fell back at seeing the dead basilisk. Dobby jumped back, frightened.
"Master, master! What is this? Is this a basilisk?" Dobby couldn't believe what he was seeing as he pointed his trembling finger.
Snape sighed waiting for the elf to calm down. "Yes, Dobby, it is a basilisk, the one that was interested in killing... now it is dead," Snape spoke.
"But how is it dead? Look at the size of that creature! Who could kill something like this?" Dobby exclaimed still trying to retreat.
"Me? I killed it," Snape replied with boredom.
"Master... this... is unbelievable!" Dobby seemed surprised.
"Do you doubt me?" Snape couldn't help but raise an eyebrow at his house elf.
"No! Dobby believes the master's words! Dobby is ready to receive punishment for this!" the house elf said in fear to Snape and began slapping his own head.
"Stop that. That wasn't what I had in mind," Snape spoke, sighing at this elf's tendency to talk about being punished.
Dobby stopped and looked at him cautiously. "Yes... master... what do you wish?"
"Now I want you to go to the castle's kitchen and call as many house elves as can help me move this thing," Snape spoke, knowing Dobby couldn't do it alone.
"Yes, master!" Dobby said quickly before disappearing and reappearing a moment later with at least 50 house elves filling the chamber with them. And, as soon as they greeted Snape, they saw the huge body of the basilisk and exclaimed in unison.
"A MONSTER, WE MUST FLEE!!" All 50 elves began running around the chamber, scared, as if they were cockroaches scattering, even Dobby was among the elves screaming in fear, and Snape wanted to slap his face this time.
Snape watched the scene, not knowing what to say, it was only a moment later that they finally began to calm down and cautiously returned to Snape.
Snape had to explain that the basilisk was dead and they all gathered in front of him again. "I need you to help teleport this snake to the precise room," Snape requested.
The elves looked at each other, hesitant, but soon surrounded the basilisk touching its skin. However, nothing happened, despite the effort being made by them.
"We can't, master. We are ready to be punished for this!" Dobby exclaimed.
"Yes, let us receive Mr. Snape's punishment!" All the elves exclaimed at the same time.
"What is this madness...?" Snape looked at the bizarre scene before sighing. "It seems the basilisk is very resistant to all magic, including your teleportation magic, you won't be punished because you couldn't..." Snape spoke before they all looked at him like puppies.
Snape couldn't help but sigh, seeing that his plan hadn't worked out. "This is bad. Can you at least use a preservation spell around it, so it doesn't rot? The basilisk is still quite fresh, and I need materials in this quality," Snape spoke and the elves nodded.
"We can do that, master," Dobby spoke up.
"Great, please do that," he requested.
The elves circled the dead beast again, starting to perform some kind of magic around it with their hands. The air around the basilisk began to glow for a while before the glow disappeared.
"We have done as you requested, master. It will not rot," Dobby informed.
"That's good. Now you can go," Snape said, as all the house elves disappeared. He went back to the entrance of the chamber to fix the bathroom.
Upon reappearing at the site, he encountered Moaning Myrtle, who got startled by his presence and flew into one of the toilet bowls in the bathroom. Snape just sighed and quickly used a spell to repair the entrance to the chamber. He finally left there, with no one noticing what had just happened on this day.
