How to Redeem a Trashy Side Villain

All he did was make fun of the author for his terrible writing. How was he supposed to know that the author was a god and that he would be punished by getting transmigrated into the body of the most loathed character in the novel — the shitty side villain that was arrested for sexually harassing one of the female protagonists. "Fuck."

Having P. Armor

As the fluttering of bat wings stopped, the black figure began to not only take shape but also take on color.

Rubbing his hands through his silky-black hair that shone with moonlight glares even though it was midday, the figure revealed himself to be handsome.

He took a deep breath.

"Ahh... that's the fresh air I've been craving for so long," he said, shivering as though he just took a whiff of the finest addictive powder possible.

"Va... vampire," said Diana, terrified out of her mind.

But even amid that fear, she still formed icicles in her palms, which she shot as soon as they were complete.

The vampire waved a single index finger and the icicles changed trajectory, missing him by inches.

"Vampire? No, I prefer to be called Draven Church," he responded.

Taking a step forward, his body transformed into a swarm of bats for a split second before returning to his humanoid shape as he appeared directly in front of Diana who had fallen to the floor.

"What's your name little one?" he asked.

Diana opened her mouth but was unable to answer as fear took over all her senses.

"Are you scared?" asked Draven. "There's no need to be scared of me. I'm not going to hurt anyone."

He looked at Diana for a little longer and suddenly, he let out a smirk so wide that his fangs were revealed.

He didn't say anything but according to the novel, this was when he was realizing that the human in front of him had unlimited potential when it comes to ice magic and that she would be the perfect catalyst to awaken the slumbering vampire queen.

Raising his palm, Diana's body elevated into the air and straightened out.

With her feet off the ground, Draven pulled her closer to him, and like a vampire in classic books and movies, he bit down on her neck.

But instead of sucking her blood, instead, he was injecting his own blood into hers, and slowly, the cells in her body were turning vampiric.

Coming out of my hiding spot, Gon was in my hand unboxed and unwrapped.

As I approached Draven, a barrier was blocking me from getting any closer. His eyes stared at me.

I was aware that he was aware that I was hiding nearby.

He just chose to ignore me because as he said, he had no intentions to harm anyone and since he was powerful enough to set up this barrier, he wasn't worried about me interfering with his blood transfer.

After all, he's a general of the demon king, the owner of the eyeball above.

I, on the other hand, was a mere student, a human who posed zero threat to him.

Taking a deep breath, I activated Gon's ability and with a single swipe, I opened up the barrier just enough for me to enter.

Although Diana was being transformed by one of the villains in the novel, what he was doing would only make her even stronger so rather than attacking him right away, I waited.

Unconscious, I didn't have to worry about her catching me standing there peacefully with a weapon in my hand.

If she was awake then all the progress that I made would be erased immediately as she would associate me as an accomplice to Draven.

In the middle of the transfer, Draven was unable to remove himself from her or the both of them would receive major backlash so he could only nervously continue despite my presence.

I could see in his eyes that he was wary of me — no, of Gon.

He must believe that even now, I wouldn't be able to kill him with the weapon because what's a sword in the hands of a baby?

But he's probably worried that I will interrupt him and ruin the opportunity he saw to awaken his queen.

'You don't have to worry my vampiric friend. I won't interrupt you,' I smiled.

Waiting a little longer, as soon as Diana's fingernails turned sharp, I reactivated Gon's ability and swung and stabbed it numerous times.

As Draven removed his fangs from Diana's neck, he turned to me and said, "You're a funny human. I didn't expect to encounter this weapon here."

"You know this sword?" I asked him as the two of us looked at Gon in my hand.

Down on his knees, he nodded his head. "Back then, it was simply referred to as the 'Slayer of Evil'. That human had no naming sense."

Taking heavy breaths, Draven looked up at the eyeball and apologized, "I'm sorry master. I didn't expect to find a human who would take advantage of me in my most vulnerable state."

Indeed that's what I did.

During the ritual of transferring vampiric blood into another being, a vampire is at their most vulnerable state and once they finish, it takes ten more seconds before they regain their strength.

I attacked him before those ten seconds were up and destroyed all his vital organs to the point where he was unable to regenerate them.

'Is this what it feels like to have plot armor?' I asked myself.

This was a being that could kill me a thousand times over before I could blink once but just because of my knowledge of his weakness that conveniently existed, I was able to kill him without a single sweat on my face.

"I don't know who you are human, but I thank you for letting me complete the blood transfer before attacking me," he said with a grin. "I don't know if you know just what you allowed me—"

"I know."

"...What?"

"I know," I repeated, giving him a gentle smile that didn't suit the tension of the room. "I know."

"Then why? Why'd you let me do it?" he asked, collapsing onto the floor as the remaining strength in his body was dissipating quickly.

"Because..." I began to answer, squatting to get a closer look at his face, "...I know how badly this plan of yours backfires. You expected to create the ideal body for your queen to inhabit when in reality, all you did was create the very weapon that will wipe out the remaining vampires from this universe."

"How do you know that?" he asked, not convinced by what I just told him.

He had no reason to believe me so I wasn't surprised.

"I know this because I read it," I told him truthfully.

"What... the fuck does that mean?" he asked just before he transformed into a pile of ashes that blew off into the distance.

My arms began glowing white, evidence that I had finished another oath.

I had set the oath up a few weeks ago and it was a risky oath as I didn't even know if the demon king would announce his return on this day as he did in the novel.

Walking over to Diana who had collapsed to the floor with no telekinesis to hold her up, I observed her for a while before she opened her eyes.

"It's alright," I told her. "Just rest. You'll be okay."

Then once she closed her eyes again and fell back into the world of sleep, I sat beside her.

Looking up at the sky, I asked a question not to the eyeball that was still being confronted by the headmistress who was attacking the thin barrier that was protecting it but to the shitty god.

"I believe that the major events in the novel will all occur regardless of my interference. But with the death of Draven, what will happen to the future events that he's involved in? What will happen now that the plan to steal the artifact in the basement failed? Or... perhaps by changing this first major event, have I actually set up a butterfly effect so impactful that my theory of unchangeable events is no longer true?" I asked.

I didn't expect an answer.

I didn't expect the god to actually tell me about the future events because he was useless to the cause that I had no faith in him.

But contrary to my expectations, he did answer me, "The major events from the novel will continue to occur as scheduled. As for Draven or whoever else you kill next, they'll be replaced."

I almost couldn't believe that he answered me and with proper answers as well.

"What about the artifact that Draven wasn't able to steal? What'll happen now that he failed?" I asked.

"You'll just have to wait and see for yourself," said the shitty god.

"Of course. What else was I expecting? Whatever," I said, rolling my eyes.

'At least he confirmed my theory of the major events.'

Waiting for the eyeball to finally disappear from the sky, I spent a few more minutes waiting for the teachers to clean up the remaining demonic monsters before picking up Diana.

Carefully, I walked over to the nurse's room and laid her down on one of the beds.

I understood from reading the novel that her interaction with Draven led to another trauma and that becoming like them filled her with this sense of shame and self-hatred.

I understood that I could've attacked the vampire earlier on to prevent that from happening.

I understood — but I couldn't do that because she needed to be strong if we were to be able to kill the major villains from the novel.

"Sorry," was what I whispered before walking out of the room.

With Gon in my hand, I walked around the campus helping clean up the few monsters here and there.

Well, that was just the guise.

In reality, I was getting closer and closer to Hercules Hall where no security guards were at because they were busy fighting the monsters.

As I reached the building, I quickly took out a bag that I had left in a nearby bush in a blind spot of the surveillance cameras.

Quickly I threw on the hoodie, changed, shoes, put on the mask, and ran into the building while avoiding the cameras as much as possible.

With a crowbar in my hand, I stepped into the main area of the building which was a mini-museum.

With a powerful swing, I smashed the glass that encased the skeleton a demonic monster from thousands of years ago.

Without care, I snapped off the skull and looked for the code that was on it.

Reciting the answer, the code engraved itself onto my body and I tossed the skull back into the shattered glass enclosure.

'Is this why thieves love stealing?' I asked myself as I felt the adrenaline rush coursing through my veins.
