Stolen egg

Few days later, I was spending some time with Rhaenyra when a servant came to inform that Ser Otto arranged an emergency small council meeting. Rhaenyra asked me to follow her and I didn't decline.

When we reached the room, There was dragon keeper amongst the small council. Who was speakinh in Valyrian.

#It happened in the hour of the bat, mylords, It was dark and the theif eluded our persuit.#

#It was Prince Daemon who was the culprit, Your grace.#

"Daemon?" The king asked.

"The Prince left a missive, which I believe might explain" Ser Otto said

" 'It is the pleasure of Daemon Targaryen, the Prince of Dragonstone and rightful heir to the Iron Throne, to announce that he is to take a second wife in the tradition of Old Valyria. She is to assume the title Lady Mysaria of Dragonstone. Her Grace is with child and is to have a dragon's egg placed in the babe's cradle in the custom of House Targaryen.' The Prince has invited you to his wedding, Your Grace. It is in two days' time." Mellos red out the letter

"Gods be good." Lord Beesbury

"Who is Lady Mysaria?" My father asked.

"Daemon's whore. This is nothing less than sedition." Otto answered.

"My brother wishes to provoke me. To answer is to give him what he wants." The king said.

"The realm is watching, Your Grace." M father said.

"What would you have me do? Send him to the Wall? Perhaps I could put his head on a spike." The king said seething with anger.

"Daemon has seized Dragonstone, has surrounded himself with an army of gold cloaks, and has now stolen a dangerous weapon." Ser otto pushed the flames again.

"Assemble a detachment, Otto. I will go to Dragonstone and drag Daemon back to face justice myself." King said as he rose from his seat.

"Your Grace. My apologies, Your Grace, but I cannot allow it. It's too dangerous. Daemon is without limit. Let me go to Dragonstone with an attachment." Otto said. I understand what he is trying to do. He is trying to get a chance to provoke a war between brothers.

Just then a notification came.

[Mission: Be the first to get back the Stolen Dragon's egg. Reward: Dragon Claim Ticket]

The mission lit up my greed.

"You grace let me go and convince Prince daemon first. Don't you think it is better to close this matter peacefully without any aggressive actions. Let us try to conclude this as a family matter. Should I fail Ser otto can continue as he suggested." I proposed.

The king looked at me pensively and then at my father and answered to me, "You have until Ser Otto reaches dragonstone."he concluded."And Aethan, thank you for what you are doing."

"That's all I ask your grace. And it is my duty as family." I thanked him and left.

I saw that Rhaenyra followed me.

"Where do you think you are going princess?" I asked her.

"To dragonpit. I am getting Syrax and going to dragonstone with you." She replied.

"I would suggest against it. Your father need you now. Can't you see you are the only family left that will support him? If you leave the capital to dragonstone, it will only add to his worries. It is our duty as children to bring down the burden our parents carry. Not add more weight to it." I tried to convince her.

After she pondered a bit she agreed. I quickly reached open ground and summoned Vermithor.

#Lets go vermitor. To dragonstone.#

This time I didn't ask vermithor to slow down as I know Otto would be making quick preparation to reach dragonstone.

I reached Dragonstone in half hour. Vermithor roared at caraxed who us perched up on one of the hills.

Caraxes roared back what I assume I am well? Probably.

And vermithor just did that. I got off his back and soon made to the castle doors.

"Tell prince Daemon, I have come to meet him on The king's order." I spoke to the guard.

Soon I was lead through the castle gates to the solar. Inside I saw, Daemon along with his lover.

"I wish to speak to you privately prince Daemon." I said.

"You can speak. She is to be my wife and privy to all my matters." He said with a smug.

"Its important prince Daemon and she might get into trouble if she hears what we discuss." I said calmly.

He looked for few secons and asked his lover to go back.

"I am here on behalf of the king to get the egg back." I started.

"The was for my child. It is a tradition. You had the same privilege. Did you not?" he asked.

"Let's speak openly prince Daemon. Is it your intention to hurt your brother and Rhaenyra? It is the others who are picking the king like maggots. Knowing that you have taken the egg of prince Baelon has hurt them both. Otto is taking this as an opportunity to increase the rift between you brothers. He is always by the King's side whispering in his ears. Let us not make him vulnarable to others." I said and continued,

"Otto is currently leaving the capital as we speak. And he is bringing an attachment with him. I am sure, so do you, that he will try to rile you up to escalate this matter which may lead to unwanted bloodshed. So, I request you on the king's behalf and also as family Please give me the egg so that I can stop all this. I only have best intentions."

He looked at me with a serious face and said,"You are much different fro your father you know? Your father would have used this chance to get something out of this."

"Well I would blame my mother for this. She raised me well." I said.

He just stood up and got the egg from the fireplace in the corner. I already know where the egg was, as I have scanned the castle before I landed and I will be able to use apports to just take away the egg. I wanted try speaking first, if he is not agrreable then I would have stolen the egg when I am outside the castle.

"Take this and leave." He said.

"Sure. I will go to the dragonmont once and go back. Vermithor is missing his lair." I lied.

"do what you wish do not disturb me." He said as he left the room and I followed him out.

The mission is successful. And the reward was added to the inventory.
