CHAPTER THIRTY:AN EXPOSITORY OF THE PAST: (part 24); Sleeping beauty!

She handed one of the necklaces to Rylee Athena as a gift, Rylee Athena was very pleased and in return she bought two glittery watches with rhinestones and gave her one.

.....

The glowing sun, a crisp circle in the bloody sky, illuminated a quivering path across the water.

It bathed the ocean's meek waves and the wispy clouds in a burning red.

As the sun dipped below the horizon, the fleeting colors of dusk began to fade away.

The charcoal-black rocks circled around small pools of water, shimmering confidently before dark fell upon them.

The sun fell asleep, shielded behind three sloping, blue mountains, each smaller but tougher than the one before.

The trees were strong, black soldiers, standing in an unmoving row.

...

Rylee Athena had just parked the new car that Raymond Oliver had gifted her hearing that she would take part in the upcoming project.

She put on the necklace that she had been bought by Kinsey while at the shopping mall and gazed at her reflection on the mirror.

Right when she stuck her head out, she noticed that a man was staring at her from a far.

Rylee Athena rolled her eyes, she hated men the most since they were liars.

She saw that he had started to laugh and if she was not busy with her necklace, she would have screamed at him for invading her personal space.

His eyes were of a dark brown colour that appeared like a lighter shade under the glowing lights of the city and his hair was curly.

He was tall and muscled enough to notice his muscles from several metres away.

Her mind suddenly drifted to the thought of all the women he had cheated on, she had been warned by her friend, Natalia Quinn about men because she was once a victim herself.

She was told to watch out and not fall for any man, no matter how charming he appeared.

Rylee Athena slammed the door of the car shut and she walked by him ignoring him until his voice made her halt her steps, "sleeping beauty, may I help you?"

She ignored him and started to walk away, she could hear his footsteps following him and see his shadow behind her yet she did not mind him until she saw that he did not stop following her even when she started walking faster.

"Who ever you are, leave me alone," she said seeming annoyed.

The cleavage of her clothes probably attracted him or made him think that Rylee Athena was like other women who were easily attracted and fooled.

That was why she had objected wearing such clothes when Ali Maddox had suggested it because she hated when people stared at her or even talked to her.

"I just saw you trying on a new piece of necklace, and that attracted my attention."

Sometimes voices did not fit people's appearances, some had beautiful faces but voices that sounded like those of barking dogs or even squirrels.

The young man's voice did not fit his baby face, it sounded like a bolt of thunder.

Rylee Athena walked by him, opened the door and walked to the counter.

The beat in the room was vibrating off the walls of the bar.

The drinks were flowing across the tables just as fast as the bartenders could make them, conversation was loud and patriots seemed to be struggling to hear over the thumping music and the dance floor was filled with sweaty bodies swaying to the beat

find dance clubs, with large crowds of people.

It was like a magical world of disco lights, laser beams, and the irreplaceable glow of colour switching lights shinning on the people.

Everyone was smiling and having such a good time.

The people were packed in the club like sardines in a blue sea.

The D J moved the people in ways which people could not understand.

Mixing the loud music on the turn tables to the beat the people desired to hear, the D J watches bodies of people dancing around as if something had possessed their bodies.

She could feel a few gazes being directed at her, and she wondered if she had to risk her job and dress like her old self, at least in that case, nobody would have stared at her or even talked behind her back.

She encouraged herself that she had few days left and would soon leave.

The young man walked behind her, "The drinks are on me." He said, as soon as Rylee Athena heard that sentence, she let out her suppressed feelings.

"Do you know how hard I have to pretend to be someone else yet you come here with your zig zagged face and stupid voice telling me that the drinks are on you, have I carried a poster that says I am broke or do you think I have no money with me?" She said sounding serious and cold all of a sudden and annoyed by her current situation.

"No way." Rylee Athena saw his face changing and his lips curving up into a smile with his cheeks puffed up as if he was holding back his laughter.

He probably had put two and two together and figured out that Rylee Athena was not living her life but someone else's.

"Who hired you?" He asked seeming curious.

The bartender placed Rylee Athena's Guinness drink on the countertop, she lifted it and finished it with a few sips.

She did not even know what he had ordered but she needed a drink so desperately although she knew very well that she was a bad drinker and got drunk easily that as soon as she finished it, she narrowed her eyes and gestured to the young man to get her another one.

"That was my drink, but suit yourself." The young man commented and Rylee Athena scoffed turning around, maybe if she told him her story then he probably would have left her alone.

"I was hired to be a fake person in order to help one's beloved family go and take surgery."

She forced a smile. "Happy now?"

She spotted his forehead slightly creasing and she could perceive a glimpse of pity on his face.

"Then please, let me offer all the drinks you offer to calm your anger down, once you drink and let your anger out, you will be fine."

The bartender left two Guinness drinks on the countertop, the young man lifted his poco grande glass which was filled to the top and he finally left her alone.

He went to sit at a table, joining his two friends.

Rylee Athena leaned her head on her arms which were tied on the counter and she could already feel the effects of the drinks on her.
