Honey Badger in the Multiverse

-A/N: Read the tags before you decide to read :) Melis Timere was an 'odd' girl. If by 'odd' you mean borderline crazy with a penchant of learning martial arts of course! ------------------------------------------------------------------- This book -probably- won't be that good.. but I will try. Honey Badger Montage (Part 1/?)

(A/N: I rewrote the story since I found the system inadequate. The next chapter will be out in a few days. Ciao~)

--

"I guess its that time of the month again," Melis said while coughing out blood on the sidewalk. Swiveling her head over to look at the perpetrator, a snobby middle-aged man with nice clothes driving a red Ferrari was looking in her direction with both horror and a tad bit of.. pride?

"Fu..ck you too.. pim..p bi..tch," Melis said while shakily raising her hand and flipping him the off. After exerting herself by moving, she promptly collapsed while people in the background were screaming.

...

"Ugh shut-up!" Melis yelled with her eyes closed. "Huh? Why can't I see.. am I in the hospital?" Melis pondered while attempting to open her eyes only to fail. A dull monotone voice soon crept into her ear and whispered,

[Hello host.]

"Who the hell are you!?" Melis said while trying to move even though she can't see.

[That is unimportant.]

[Pre recorded message playing: Hello there! I saw your soul floating about and you looked pretty lonely so I attached a system to your soul! I know right! I am very awesome and beautiful. *Ahem* anyways back to business, this system is NOT sentient and will only follow VERY basic commands! Those commands will be shown later.

This system is called a 'Multiverse Travel' system and is actually quite easy to make. The purpose of this system is pretty apparent.. as it is quite literally in the name.

Anywho, I gotta wrap this up now or else I will miss very important work! Just look through the notice that will appear after this message and you will be set!

Ciao~ you pathetic mortal!] - Random Celestial Being

[Notice: 1 pending]

"What the hell is this? A fan-fic?" Melis said before bursting out laughing, "Hehe, nah this isn't some stupid fan-fic.." (A/N: Ouch.)

"Guess I better see this 'notice' the 'Celestial Being' left for me," Melis muttered while she mentally tapped onto a small blue [Notice] sign.

[Notice:

Functions of the system include:

Status Board: Displays a rough estimation of the body's physical and mental strength. Can increase them by leveling up and unlocking stat points, or training your body physically. P.S It is easier to train in a humanoid form due to the larger variety of physical exercises.

Skill Tree: Unlock skill points by 'Leveling up' in the [Status Board] to unlock Skills from the Skill Tree! Skills are limited as you have to meet hidden prerequisites to have them shown in the Skill Tree. Ever wanted to fly? Buy the skill! Ever wanted to become a World-Ending, God-Devouring, Apocalypse Beast? Buy the skill! *Purchases are un-refundable*

Inventory: Toss some of your useful garbage into a small separate dimension that is so complicated that your mortal mind cannot comprehend! Instead use it like some common storage unit!

Trash: Throw unwanted or unstable items into a separate dimension ruled by %&$#^ that will instantly disintegrate anything that enters! So don't enter it -_-.

Multiverse Travel: Explore the worlds of fiction! The multiverse is vast and holds many types of worlds, including the ones from your original world. So go explore you crazy bastard!]

"Well thats.. SO COOL!!" Melis yelled into the void. Before Melis could think of more possibilities of the future, she was interrupted by the bland monotone voice of the system.

[Please choose beginning world from the list below:

My Hero Academia: Easy

Danmachi: Easy

RWBY: Easy

Pokemon: Easy

...

Naruto: Easy - Medium

DXD: Medium

...

Nasuverse: Hard

GOH: Hard

...

DBZ: Extremely Hard

Random Cultivation World: Young Master Difficulty]

As soon as she laid her eyes on the last option she involuntarily shivered for a moment before completely ignoring its presence.

"So many options.." Melis said to herself before scanning over the options once more.

[Choose quickly.. Ejecting in 10.. 9..]

"What why?!?" Melis yelled before tapping on one of the easy world options as her choice.

[Danmachi selected: No time limit set until next world jump. Recommended to at least be well-prepared before you do so to avoid being obliterated by that worlds inhabitants. *Note* If you jump into a world with Gods or Primordials they will be hostile towards your presence. This jump will be the only instance in when the system temporarily makes you a 'World Inhabitant' as not to die instantly! Have fun!]

The system's monotone voice whispered into Melis' ear.

The surroundings began to shift violently, colors blurred before combining into a brilliant white blinding Melis' vision.

[Please check your status board for more information about yourself. Time remaining until destination reached: 5 minutes.]

"Fair.. I suppose," Melis said before pondering how to bring up her status.

"Status?" she said out loud only to get no response.

"Status.exe file 43?" Melis asked jokingly before speaking again, "Status-Board.exe.file?" Once she finished a blue screen appeared in her field of view.

"Damn I should figure out how to change that.. status is easier," she mumbled before taking a closer look at the screen.

Melis was gawking at the screen, primarily the Intelligence stat. "D-Did the system just call me dumb?" She said while looking at the system screen.

"Hmm.. what the hell does it mean by [Magical Honey Badger]?" She said while looking at the status board.

"Shit," she said while the realization finally hit home. "WHY THE HELL AM I A BADGER?!" She yelled while she was still floating in the white void.

[*Warning*]

[Landing in 3.. 2.. 1..]

The world turned dark before exploding in a myriad of vibrant colors. Once the world regained its light Melis was surrounded by lush green trees that splayed across the forest. The occasional bird would fly by her vision as she was groggily attempting to stand up.

"Grr," Melis groaned slightly while he eyes shot open. Feeling her limbs and looking around she noticed something, 'WHAT THE HELL! THEY WEREN"T LYING?!' she yelled mentally while looking at her stubby black furred feet while white fur barely making its way into her sight just above her legs.

'Great.. just great! How the hell am I supposed to use any of my skills as a human.. as a fucking BADGER?' she said while clawing the ground in frustration.

As Melis was fuming and clawing at some of the nearby saplings in anger, a group of three appeared in the trees. They had dull green leather-like skin, black beady eyes that seemed both lustful and insane. They all similarly had bald heads and pointy ears, the only piece of clothing they had was a dirty loincloth.

"Rahj!" Melis heard a yell of frustration coming from a nearby tree.

"Takhr Rajh!" a small ugly green man popped out of the bushes with a finger pointed at Melis.

'Huh? Is that a goblin?' she asked to herself before she started to slowly back away.

"RAJH!" the goblin yelled as he saw the badger slowly crawling away.

A couple of his companions that accompanied him raised their crude wooden clubs and started to run after their food (Melis).

Melis looked at the two goblins approaching her while sorting through various courses of action she should take. One of the braver goblins swung his club at her while she was pondering causing her to dodge on instinct.

Seeing the opportunity Melis leaped towards the goblin and instinctively swung her sharp claws towards the goblins throat. The goblin gasped for air as he slumped to the ground. Seeing his comrade die, the closest goblin slammed his club into the left side of Melis' body leading to her being thrown a couple of feet.

*Ding*

[Tough Skin: LV (1->2)]

Expelling the air from her lungs from the sudden impact, Melis felt her skin itch for a second before stopping completely. "Grrr," Melis let out a low growl of anger before dodging a stray attack from the goblin she spotted first.

Repeating the same course of action she proceeded to eliminate the two goblins when they missed their attacks.

*Ding!*

[Level up!]

[Stat and Skill points rewarded!]

A notification rung while she looked at the system screen. After reading its contents she looked at the three dead goblin bodies before walking away.

'If there were three there are most likely more.. probably shouldn't stay near their bodies,' Melis concluded before running a decent distance away.

'Honey badgers make a burrow to live in.. maybe I should too?' She thought as he looked at her claws and begun to dig a small but large enough to live in burrow.

...

'Hah.. mission accomplished,' Melis thought while proudly looking over at her small new 'home'. It just large enough for her to move freely and not be completely cramped. Laying her exhausted body against the cool soil she prepared to fall asleep.

Melis dumped the stat points into what she thought would be the most important at the moment. Intelligence would well.. make her smarter.. and no she was definitely not doing it to overcome the embarrassment of having below average intelligence.

Agility would make her faster.. hopefully. Prying her gaze from the stat part of the notification she looked at the skill section with slight intrigue. Curiosity reigned and she tapped onto <Racial Skills>.

<Racial Skills>

[Venom Secretion: Due to your magical nature, your species is capable of generating venom glands. The toxicity and lethality of the venom is depends on the vitality stat of the opponent compared to your own. EX: If the opponent's vitality is double yours, it will have nearly no affect. [Iron Stomach: Honey Badgers are known to hunt a large variety of animals. Including VERY poisonous snakes like adders, cobras, and black mambas. Due to this they have a strong digestive system that allows them to eat these animals with limited side affects. *Warning* Eating poisonous substances with [Iron Stomach] will generally improve your poison resistance, attempt at your own risk. Skill Cost: 5]

[Natural Affinity: Due to your magical nature, your species is capable of producing well.. magic. Every species has an Affinity to a certain aspect of magic, or multiple. This skill will allow you deeper knowledge of your personal affinities. Skill Cost: 5]

[Pheromone Release: Honey Badgers, magical or not, can release pheromones to mark territory or to scare away predators. Also can be used to mark your mate(s) *wink*. Skill Cost: 5]

[Play Dead: Act as if you are dead. 10% chance of ANY predator leaving you alone. Skill Cost: 50]

{Other skills locked due to not meeting certain criteria.}

'Hmm.. no idea what the hell the last line is supposed to mean with those blurred out words but I guess I'll find out at one point. Moving on.. what would be best for my immediate survival?' Melis thought while thoroughly scanning through her options.

'If I would have to choose.. [Natural Affinity] while sounds really cool.. is not very helpful without me properly training it. [Play Dead].. no, the others.. meh. [Venom Secretion] is probably the best choice for right now.' She thought while locking her gaze onto the option and mentally clicking it.

[Skill Gained!]

[Venom Secretion: LV (1)]

Melis felt like the area directly above her stomach was lit on fire while some maniac was dumping some gasoline on it. Melis let out a low whine while she rolled back and forth in her small makeshift home.

After a few more seconds of burning, the sensation suddenly stopped as if it wasn't there in the first place. 'Note to self.. be prepared next time,' Melis thought while still feeling an imaginary throb where her new venom gland was located.

Melis guided some venom throw the small, unnoticeable holes in her fangs. A few drips of clear green liquid fell to the ground with a sizzle, burning through the ground below her. 'Well at least it is works..' Melis thought while looking at the ever increasing size of the hole her venom created.

After making sure the venom didn't cause too much damage and packing some more dirt to cover the hole, Melis decided it was time to sleep for today.

(A/N: Yo. This chapter was mostly just explaining how this system thing was going to work. It won't fill up much of the story later on, I just had to get the information out of the way now. Also I'm rewriting the story as you can see, wanted to make some changes.)
