Go Loco'

Later that evening,Kylie was done packing,

she had ironed and prepared what she would wear on Monday,she afterwards sat on her bed and rested her head on the headboard ,she looked up,closed her eyes and breathed in the air of the room,

"mmmh...am gonna miss this place",she muttered.

She then opened her eyes to have them linger across the room which leisurely came to settle on her injured leg,

It had been only yesterday since she got the accident

but her leg has been making alot of progress,she expected to be bedridden by now but unexpectedly she is able to walk, of course not quiet well though.

Kylie stretched her hand to touch the injured spot and it did hurt alot but not overbearing,it seems all this medication had not gone t o waste after all.

After she got up from the bed,she wanted to give it a try to see if she could be able to walk without the crutches.

So she threw her crutches on the bed,placed one leg down and lifted her body,next was the injured leg,she lifted it slowly and placed on the floor,

When she was able to stand on both her feet,she exhaled heavily.

Kylie then looked at the distanced ahead of her,then at her two legs...she had to do this if she was going to get any work done,she thought.

She breathed in and out again before taking one step forward,she breathed again before taking another step,

She did this continuously until she reached the other end of the room,the joy that brewed within her was over whelming,

I did it!!! yes! i did it!!! .....

Kylie was more than excited to have been able to walk,though not properly but atleast she could move,praise God!!

Soon she was moving all over the room without her crutches which was a good thing considering the deadline of her final week.

Time passed as the sun began to go down over the western horizons presenting the beautifully lit up sky with a golden glow and the floating fleecy clouds that looked more like a stretch of fire.

Usually by dawn,the neighbourhood is engulfed by the dreadful silence that threatens to take over as the night time befalls on the land but today was different,

Their were lots of laughing and chattering going on at the time due to the overwhelming joy,with just one day remaining,the selected workers couldn't help but talk about what to expect,their plans and intentions like how they plan to start life in the beautiful city after the money they've earned,a city where the majestic sky scrappers stand tall far above the ground leaving every one that passes by to gape in awe, also the fantastic cityscape consisting of the arcades,famous cinemas and theatres, restaurants with pleasant meals,malls and so on.

Meanwhile as dawn sank in,Kylie was sittted by the bedside, looking into some old memory box which she illegally picked from the upper part of the wardrobe,she saw their father putting it there and the way he kept looking back and forth as if checking whether someone might came in any second....

In it contained some old books,most of them contained love poetry,others contained some heartful songs but there was one particular that caught Kylie's attention and it was hand written but that was not what made her pick it,it was label on the book cover "By The Willow's Tree",

She loved willow trees especially the purple and pink ones,they were facinating to look at and it brought back old memories when she would have picnics with her Dad under the Purple weeping willow tree,

she was very little back then,some times she would try climbing the tree but each time she was quarter way,her father would pull her away.She remembered that person scolding her many times but the memory was faint reason being she was very young when that happened.

This title made Kylie eager to see what was inside so she opened the book.

What welcomed her was the name'Linda G. ' ,Kylie ran through her memory to see whether she could recognize the name but failed so she opened the next page,written on it was;

Lonely! yes am all alone,

In the thick darkness of the night

Here I lie silently on the bed

My arms curled around my body

To shelter it from the cold though i was

covered with a blanket

Thinking about him wanting him by my side

Even though i just saw him this morning

The solitude i felt voiced out and made itself

clear within the room.

Busy! always busy,

He can't even spare time for me,no?

Always out on business trips

When i call the reply is always busy

When i ask why he can't take time off

The work is always urgent!

Am tired! may be i should make myself

busy too.

Sickness,wrong time!

I curl myself within the sheets

A bucket at the bedside for the reason

that is well known

Faking is it? husband sick is it?

I give him a call tell him the issue

Am waiting anxiously for him

Ding dong! the door bell rings

Sick,was i? I jumped out the bed

The seconds i used to reach the door only

God could tell.

Doctor!! unbelievable!!

So he sent a doctor not caring to come

check on me by himself

What a crook! shameless idiot!!!!

Kylie who was reading this paused for a second,with eyes slightly wide with a glint of surprise,

'Wow! what a woman,first she's missing him damn bad

now she's abusing him.....mm hm! i don't need this stress at all,for now, we're cruising on our single rides!!!'

She thought.

"I think this is enough for today, am definitely packing this",she uttered as she placed the book in her suitcase.

While checking through the box for other things,

something sparkly caught her attention,she stretched her hand and picked it out,

It was a golden locket,it was small with decorations of tree branches with leaves around and a green diamond in the center,it looked memerizing and beautiful,Kylie twirled it gently around her hand,

She then turned the backside and saw the label written

'LIG Com.',the back was as smooth as crystal silk.

While analyzing the locket she took note of the small clasp at the side,she tried unclasping it but it didn't budge ,she afterwards pushed her nail in-between the the little space at the sides to force the locket open but to no avail.

Kylie tried again but it still failed to open,due to frustration,she checked the drawers and picked a spanner,only God knew how she was going to use this thing.

She placed the profile of the spanner at the side clasp and kept turning,what was funny was that the hole of the spanner was bigger than the clasp but she kept figeting with the locket but all in vain,it was stuck.

Kylie threw the spanner back in the drawer and fell on the bed,she was tired of trying to open the stupid necklace,

As soon as she fell on the bed,Martha came in,"Kylie!", she called out,Kylie lifted her head in frustration to know what her sister wanted,she saw nothing out of the ordinary except that Martha had both her hands placed behind her back ," What are you hiding?", she asked with a bored expression,

" Promise me you'll go loco when i tell you",Martha demanded,

"I promise",she replied nochalantly,

"Tell you what,i told Papa that since you are grown up now,you wanted a phone of your own!",Martha put in a way that made it seem like it was no big deal especially with the wide grinned that formed on her face,

"What! i never said tell him, i was just confirm...",Kylie instantly rose and sat on the bed poof sound,

"Relax,he bought you one",Martha interrupted then presented the cell phone box,brand new!!!!

Kylie was speechless,her mouth left hanging with nothing to say,the shocked expression on her face was later replaced by a bright wide smile that covered the whole of her face,

she couldn't believe this,was she dreaming or.....

Her hand involuntarily made its way to her cheeks to check whether this was a dream but unfortunately instead of a small pinch,she held quite an amount of meat and twisted it so hard,

"Ouch!! argh! what the hell!",Kylie exclaimed as she rubbed her cheek to ease the pain.

Martha who was standing at the door side and saw all that happened burst out into laughter,

"What's funny?",Kylie asked while getting angry,

"You should have seen the look on your face,so you thought this was a dream haha! well it's not, let me remove it from the box so you can see for yourself",Martha dismantled the box and picked out the phone,

"You didn't have to do that to the box!",Kylie retorted,

"Yeesh! it's not like it's a living thing,now come check this out!",

Kylie got off the bed ,her face all lit up,her heart filled with utter excitement and she made her way to her sister,

"Wait!!", Martha stopped her just when she was half through,"What is it?",she asked with furrowed brows,

"Your leg! it's still....how come.....you're...", Martha was surprised to see sister walk freely without the crutches except for the slight limping like a lame chicken which she could not mention outloud.

"It's okay,i have been practicing moving without those sticks,you know i have only tomorrow to get this leg up and running...don't worry,i gat this",Kylie explained,

"Mmm.....well i trust you on that but be careful,we wouldn't want both legs malfunctioning",Martha said but still abit worried,she handed the phone over to Kylie.

The girls checked out the phone and added the needed information to it.

While the two sisters had their minds glued to the phone ,a black bently packed right outside their small front gate,

it beeped three times which was just enough to catch everyone's attention,

Mr. and Mrs. Chung came out immediately as soon as they heard the sound considering they already knew whose and what it was for.

Meanwhile," I already told you,you shouldn'...."

"Hold on! did you hear that?",Kylie interrupted her sister on picking up a certain sound coming from outside,

She then walked towards the window,

Martha furrowed her brows with a perplexed expression,she too followed her sister.

On looking out the window,both girls were surprised to see the black ride packed right outside their house,

"Which visitor do think we have at this hour?",asked Kylie," Am not sure,let's go check", Martha suggested and with that said they both headed for the door,pronto.

"Good evening Sir,it is a pleasure to have you here", said Mrs Chung,

"Good day,Mr and Mrs...?",uttered the driver,

"Chung", Mr.Will filled in,"I go by the names Joseph Williams",

introduced the driver,"It is a pleasure to have you here Mr. Williams",stated Mr. Will,

"And it's an honour to be here,am guessing you already

know why am here",

"Yes we do,genuinely i must say,we are so grateful to the Queen for this generous.....

Within minutes ,the two sisters stepped out of the house,they took notice of the fine looking gentle man in black,standing along side their parents,he looked to be in his late forties with his beard and short hair combed backwards,the girls made their way to stand next to their parents.

Joseph's black eyes shifted to look at the two girls infront of him,

"Mr. Williams meet our daughters; Kylie and Martha,girls meet Mr. Williams",said Mr. Will,

Both the girls and Mr. Williams exchanged handshakes.

"I must say Mr.and Mrs. Chung,you have very good looking daughters",Joseph complimented,

"Oh,thank you",replied Mr.Will and Mrs. Hellen slightly bowed her head in appreciation,

"If i may ask,which of the two pretty ladies will i be taking with me on Monday?",asked Joseph.

"So he's the driver of this magnificent black ride and the one taking you! i thought he was here coz Papa owed him some money judging from his extravagant

attire", whispered Martha to Kylie who gave her a minute glance before returning her gaze back to the driver,

"Well,it's Kylie over here",replied Mr. Will who he placed

his hands on Kylie shoulders and slightly pushed her forward.

The driver who had been occasionally looking at both the girls now turned to Kylie and he frown,

"But isn't she injured? I could see from the way she was walking and i really think it is going to be a hinderance to her work",he stated in concern.

'Seriously she was moving like some lame animal,no offence....'the man thought inwardly.

Mr. Will and Hellen were both surprised and confused at the same time to see their daughter walking without her crutches,it had only been yesterday when the incident happened.....

Kylie who was standing infront of the man,swallowed a big lump,she put her hands behind her back and crossed her fingers,for good luck as she prayed internally,she and her family have come a long way to make sure she got the job,everything was already in place and she wasn't ready to quit now,

She could feel the tension and confusion in the air.

Taking in a deep breath,she took one step forward,

"It is honestly not a big deal Sir, as long as am able to walk,then it shouldn't be a problem....from what i know,90% of the work requires the use of hands and my hands are perfectly fine....see!!",

Kylie stretched both her hands for Mr. Joseph to take a look with a light smile on her lips,

This little action cause the man to laugh heartily,which brought a smile to everyone's faces out of relief,

"I guess you're right...you are really quite an intelligent young lady", the man complimented,

"Oh, thank you!",Kylie appreciated.

"You see these girls are quite stubborn and careless some times that these things happen but nevertheless we still have to take responsibility as parents to ensure their safety,we were planning to add her some days for the leg to heal but Kylie here still insists on going", uttered Mr Will,

Kylie frowned,was this a way of asking for more time!!!

"Is that so....Kylie dear,your father is right,i'd consider you give your injury some time to heal,now just imagine...in a meeting of guests from higher status and levels,that you are given to serve the queen at the front seat,to walk amidst all those eyes,what will they have to say?",asked the man with his eyes abit serious,

this made invisible sweat roll down Kylie's forehead,

she didn't want to arrive late at the same time she didn't want to embarrass herself and least of all the queen!! now what was she going to do!

"But....what if i try avoiding those circumstances,like focus my work in a particular area that doesn't involve...",

before Kylie could complete her statement,she could already see the answer from the look in the man's eyes that left her disappointed,her shoulders dropped and a frown came to settle on her beautiful face,

Taking notice of the gloomy look on the lady's face,the driver could only sigh,

"Tell you this,i will give you at least three days to improve on your recovery,when that is done....then i'll take you! is that fine by you?",he asked,

On the other hand,Kylie was trying to weigh the options,some part of her agreed while the other had a hard time,she wasn't ready to face the embarrassment she would get if she went like this yet again she didn't want to turn up late....

She could only sigh heavily," Yes",she replied to have both her parents relieved,

"Good.....i will be back for you after three days straight",Mr. Joseph instructed and turned his back to leave,

"Uh....Sir isn't it late!, I mean...I think it isn't safe for you to be moving at this time!",

Martha clutched the back of the man's fine coat for him to stop on his tracks,he turned to see who stopped him only for his eyes to shift down at the little girl,

Mrs. Hellen was shocked to see how her daughter got hold of the man,same to her husband,

She immediately caught Martha's hand and slightly pulled her aside,"S-so sorry Mr. Williams for that,what she meant to say was....would you mind joining us for dinner?",

"Not at all Mrs. Chung,i would love to join you and...enough with the titles,just call me Joseph", the man answered with a smile ,his heart warm at the hospitality being shown to him,

This is the first family among all he has come across,to treat him with such kindness and respect,he felt really honoured.

The girls helped the man pick his luggage from the trunk,which included just a mini black suitcase and the car was parked at the back side of the house which was more spacious.....
