Fighting the War

Awaking to the immense pain in the back of my head but soon that seems to be the least of my worries as I feel a hand cup my necklace. As instantly I stand and push the Knight to the brick wall, holding his neck in my hands. Tightening them, slowly.

"I don't wish to kill you" I tell him as he removes his helmet. "But I will if you ever touch my necklace again!" I threaten him as I let him go as his body drops from the bricks.

"The prince has requested council with you" says a second guard as I turn to him as he draws his sword to me. "I know too much to be fooled by a treacherous woman." He states as I bite my lip as I walk to him as he stops me with the blade of his sword. "PUT THE SHACKLES ON!" He yells as I grab the shackles he's thrown at me.

I nod my head at his request. Putting the shackles on my wrists as I smirk. As he leads me, I suddenly stop, as he draws his sword towards me I smile. Nothing more than a brush with death to wake you up! Taking the sword in my hands and throwing it to the other side of the room.

"What, now?" I ask him as I smile as he charges at me.

Waiting for him, I slam his head into my cell. Getting behind him and tightening my shackles around his neck while he gasps.

"Don't worry" I whisper in his ear. "I'm not going to kill you" I tell him as he passes out. "Just enjoy your nap." I say to myself.

Using his sword, I line my shackles to the blade and slamming the chains into the blade. As I smile. The blood trickling down my arm was something I was used to, soon it would be gone. As the cuts across my wrist disappeared, and the cuts in my palms stung no more.

"Let's see the prince" I proclaim to myself as I walk my quarters. Holding the only thing I brought with me with any meaning to me. I'd stolen it, it wasn't worth leaving. As I bring the wooden box to the seamstresses room as I take the dress I'd been eyeing forever.

Lacing myself up and putting the crown on my head. As I let my roots show, I was never a monster, but was respect too much? As my heels clicked on the floor, I arrived at his study, giving the study door a good push. Seeing the royal family sitting there as I smile, not letting fear creep in. I'm not stupid, if they wanted me dead I would have already been slaughtered. They needed me, and I didn't need them.

"I'm Gehenna" I say as I look to the Queen. "Gehenna Cain" my name emerging from my lips with a smile. "The Princess of the Darkness" I say as think to myself, I'm going to ruin these peoples lives. "Oh, and" I remind myself as I throw the bracelet on the Princes desk. "I'm not dumb!" I tell him, "I know it's to contain my powers" I beat him to the punch.

"MEN!" He shouts as suddenly I have ten men with their swords out, all pointed at me.

"Not really the welcome I was expecting" I sarcastically reply as he smiles.

"REMOVE HER CROWN" the Prince commands as I laugh.

"Oh! You don't want to do that" I say aloud. Looking at the men, "It's laced with poison" I admit through my smirk as they back away.

"WILLIAM!" The Queen shouts as she stands. "Who is she?" She ask as I sigh.

"I think I already answered that question" I answer her as she comes closer to me.

"You?" She ask me as she suddenly lift her palm as I hold it in my hand.

"No!" I tell her as she smiles. "You don't get to hit me" I say as I push her away from me. "Now tell me" I start, "What do you need me for?" I ask the Prince as he sighs.

"Your going to bring power to this kingdom" William tells me as I shudder, again I was just a pawn. "Your going to marry me" he finally tell me his plan as I freeze. My face painted with horror at the thought. Your going to marry me! We're those really his words? They couldn't be!

"No!" I protest his decision, "I will not!" Letting my disgust surface.

"You have no choice!" He makes clear as I smile.

"Marriage is sacred to me" I tell him, "I rather die than pledge myself to such a man!" I insult him.

"Says the monster!" Princess Emilia as I sigh.

"Kill me!" I order. "Marriage is so vital to me, and nothing to you!" I explain to him as he smirks at me.

"Your simply not worth killing" he tells me as my smile collapses. "Your only good for one thing" he says as he comes closer to me, as I can feel his hot breath on my neck. "If you weren't" he starts as he lowers his lips, dangling over mine. "I would have killed you by now he admits as I smirk at his words.

"Either way" I say as I push him away from me. "A war will break out, through marriage or-" I say as I look to the queen, "Kidnapping" I say as she snickers. "Your people will die with the order you so desperately want" I tell her as I look back up to the prince as I turn around and suddenly remember. "Oh! And…" I remind myself. "Send another guard to escort me and I will not be so kindly to return another one of them alive" I say angrily. As I walk out of the door and back to my room.

I had at least a months time to escape this marriage approximately. I just had to get Beth and run. War would soon break out, there was only so much the rulers could do to hold back the boughs at this point. War would break out soon and I would not be caught fighting. I had to grab Beth and run, before we were caught on the wrong end
