Chapter 16 A Mango Allergy?

"What's wrong? I thought you loved mangoes the most?"

Callan asked, "Recently, I've gone through some of our old chat records and I saw that you mentioned loving mangoes in the first year, but you haven't mentioned liking them since then. Has your taste changed all these years?"

"No... I do love mangoes," Cadence was afraid that he would doubt her. So she took the mango, gritted her teeth and scooped up a spoonful into her mouth.

She took another spoonful,

quickly finishing the whole mango.

But soon after, she began to feel extremely uncomfortable, as if she was on fire. Her breathing also became labored. When she raised her eyes, she saw Callan staring at her.

Cadence forced herself to endure the discomfort and said nervously, "Callan, I don't feel well. I want to rest for a while. Can you leave?"
