Chapter 10

CHAPTER TEN

Jace’s POV

It felt longer than six hours and at the same time quicker than that. Surely, the hours spent pretending to be asleep on Ashley’s shoulder went very fast that I suspected I did fell asleep for real before we landed. I hope she didn’t mind I practically used her as a pillow.

Ashley reached for my hand as we walked to take our luggage, I saw her eyeing the airport shops and tugged her gently there. She always has some kind of weakness for airport shops. I lied about needing some tissues and mint candy. She looked at me, eyes full of doubt and knew very well that I was lying but she went with me anyway.

I never ate mint candies for fun. She knew that. I chuckled to myself and shook my head.

Right on cue she wondered to the candy aisle immediately and stared at the weird snacks displayed, I left her to choose as I ‘searched’ for the things I need.
