Outside the pathway that led to the dark forest, the men paused their footsteps as they could no longer see the girl, but they could notice the little wet footprints that went into the dark forest.
"I think we need to head back immediately, it wouldn't take long before the little girl would have herself killed in there". The beardless man said, already unwilling to go after the little girl.
The bulkier man seemed to turn furious at the words, he heard from his partner, he was a weakling to him. "Do you comprehend how much we could bring in from selling that girl? Do you even comprehend how rare it is to notice a young girl of her age, wandering around the empty alleys, at such an ungodly time? We could make so many gold coins from her, think about it". The bearded man said as he turned his eyes on the pathway of the dark forest.
" What if the master hits upon what we had committed? He would destroy us". The other man replied, still hesitant to follow him in.
The bulkier man felt frustrated by this time, there was no way he was letting go of the girl and his gold coins. "Listen to me, buddy". The bulkier man said as he drew closer to the other man by his shoulder. " I assure you of the master never finding out what we had done. I have a rich customer who is a sailor, who would pay any amount of money if we smuggle the little girl successfully, I assure you brother, of good money and beautiful ladies to spend your night with, mmh?". The bulkier man was convinced, nudging his partner to receive consent from him.
The other man gave a nod before he asked "Do you have a torchlight then? It is not safe in there". The beardless man said
" Uh-huh! Here it is". The bearded man said as they both commenced to walk into the dark forest.

Aurora felt her heart thudding, the little girl was scared. She turned to see what had jumped or the creature that had jumped so heavily on the tree but she couldn't see anything yet. It was dark and the moon was not fully set.
She continued to walk farther. She felt relieved that whatever had jumped, had not jumped down to chase her. She felt something stir in the trees and she felt the hairs on her body rise, her instinct was already screaming danger.
She limped with all her might in an attempt to run away when she suddenly heard heavy footsteps that followed each step she made; of course, she knew the footsteps were not hers.
The little girl with fear, felt her legs move on their own as she ran, tripping and then standing up again to limp.
She had memorized the dark forest but now, she felt everything change; including the pathways, the lovely creatures she saw in the day and the flowers.
She saw the moon already setting and she could be able to detect a few things.
The first thing she has turned to set her eyes on was a lady, no no- - It was a creature who had an upper body of a woman, hanging upside down on the tree with her hands folded, watching her with the rest of her body into a snake.
The little child turned instantly shocked as the air in her body was about to leave her. A chill ran down her spine and her legs felt trapped on the wet ground. She was horrified as she had never seen any hideous monster like that until today. The creature tilted its head as it watched her, keenly watching all her body movements.
Aurora widened her eyes before she screamed with the whole strength she had in her, her voice echoing all over the dark forest. She hurriedly continued to step back before she tumbled; hitting her head on a large stone as blood seeped from the little girl's head. Tears flooded the girl's eyes, preventing her from seeing clearly as she turned motionless, staring at the hideous creature before losing consciousness.
The hideous creature, uncoiled herself from the tree as she crawled toward the unconscious little girl, whispering in another language; incoherent statements to her.
The men who were already venturing inside the dark forest heard a shrill voice of a little child and felt chills run down their spine. They felt their heart shake with nervousness as they halted their footsteps from going any further.
"I think we should go back now, something's got her already". The beardless man said, already sweating from what they would see in there.
The bearded man exhaled a heavy sigh to remove whatever fear that had penetrated him before he smacked off his partner's hand that was pulling his clothes. " You are a coward, nothing got her. She either got frightened by a spider or bugs in the woods, let's quickly go there before she goes any further".
"Are you out of your mind? There's no way, I am taking a step forward in there. If she had let out such cry of anguish, do you think whatever that got her would let us free?. This dark forest is cursed and filled with mystical creatures, please Hampton, I don't want to die _ _
" Shut up already. Let's just hurry up. Whatever rubbish you have heard is a myth and would never happen. The man who would buy the girl if we bring her successfully, would purchase her for 50 gold coins and you are speculating to get back? You are a loser, man. Alright, take a step back and leave right away". The bulkier man said as he hastened his steps.
The beardless man who had paused himself from going any further felt something intently stare at him. He turned to see what it was but saw nothing. Here was freaking scary.
"Wait!!!, come back man, I'll join you". The man without beards said aloud to his partner who waved him to come quickly.
