His night's light

- - - "you don't think I could bring myself to mark your lovely skin?. I'll carve my name in your breast so that every beat of your heart will remind you that you are mine and mine alone. Because blood is binding and I would rather see you destroyed by me than see you free or in the possession of another, I suggest you do not try me or you would suffer as no creature has". He said trapping her on the wall as he stroked her cheek."You are dancing only with me and no one else, I shouldn't remind you that I can kill because I wouldn't hesitate to destroy my opposer, my sweet girl". He said as he whispered to her ears before he gently blew her ears, making her heart skip beats. The girl stared at him with a hard expression, before asking" Do you love me then?". "No". He responded immediately " Then you are evil". She said "And you are mine". He said before he leaned toward her as his teeth grazed her neck making the girl gasp. . Expand in the dark Shrink in the light Save Aurora. The scarred girl frowned deeply as she read the contents of the old letter from an old box that she had found in the attic. These were the only words it contained. What was the meaning of this and why was her name written on it? She thought as she continuously checked the paper.

"You witch get up". Cyrus barked. Anger was quick to fill his heart as he slapped the girl's head. " Wake up, you witch. How dare you take your cursed body to sleep on this bed? So you could release an evil spell on us?. "Get up, will you?". Cyrus shouted, dragging the little girl by her hair as the little girl cried out loud, trying to free herself from his hold.

The girl who had woken up in pain was still feeling feverish, her feet felt wobbly. She fell on the floor when dragged by her grandfather.

" I said get up, do you prefer my rusty axe on your head? Get up you monster, you bringer of ill-luck". The old man continued to curse, kicking the little girl's scarred face.

"Grandpa, please. I - - can't - - get - - up, please. The little girl pleaded with a weakened voice. She was exhausted and queasy to talk.

" Are you talking back at me? Who is your grandfather? Do you want to see how your entire face is marked with a scar? Then watch me". The old man threatened as he pushed her away before going in a search of a knife.

The little girl who was already overwhelmed with panic and tension, rose with all her might, scrambling from the floor and heading to the door. She wanted to run off from this house, away from this man.

"Where are you going to?". Cyrus growled as he went after her. " Stop there, you little witch. I had comprehended that you were sent to this house to send my soul to hell. Haha! Nevertheless, tell them when I deliver you back to the hell, that you had failed them. Cyrus said as he continued to go after her with his knife.

The little girl felt unsteady as she tried to maintain her balance. She felt her head swivelling as she continued to wince before she fell flat on the ground, wheezing for air. Where was her grandmother? Her monstrous grandfather would kill her if she wasn't back on time.

"You little swine, where do you think you are going to when I am not done with you? Do you want to go tattle-tale to your grandmother about how I whacked you?. You imbecile, dummy, hag, you condemnation". Cyrus cursed as he whipped her with a leash.

The little child was abused. She felt suffocated as she lacked the strength to cry. She could feel her little head, moist with something, either it was blood or water from the leaking ceiling; she didn't care to touch it. All she wanted was to take flight from her grandfather. The next thing she saw was her grandfather who lifted himself before jumping on her legs.

She shrilled with so much anguish that she felt like dying which gladdened the old man's heart.

" Now for the other side of your face, I am going to mark - -

Cyrus didn't complete his words as he landed on the hard floor. He couldn't comprehend what had just happened but all he knew was, he was suddenly on the ground with his butt, aching in injury. He screamed with anguish as he felt a bone crack in his body. It had to be his waist, his waist had broken.

He tried to stand up to catch hold of the little girl and bungle her eyes out but he felt immobile with extreme suffering.

The little girl yanked the door open as it hung midway, almost pulling off from its hinges. Her dress was already torn by her grandfather who had not seized to abuse her in any way. She felt her body going icy as tears of pain continued to fall on her cheeks. The rain continued to pour on the half-naked girl as she walked lamely in the direction of the dark forest.

The street was already deserted as the rain thwarted her from surveying her surroundings. The dark forest was already some miles away and she was already losing consciousness. She was already having a feeling of death, and apprehension now was an understatement.

She continued to stagger before she limped. She was relentless. She had heard stories about the dark forest not safe for young children like her but the little girl was already having a strange thought to die in the dark forest than alive in her grandparents' home.

The little girl continued to limp as her heart was adamant about heading to the forest. She heard the lightning rumble loudly making her heart skip beats. She had always been apprehensive of the lightning bolt. The little girl winced at the pain she had suddenly felt. Bending down to see what had pierced her foot, she saw a thorn stuck in her feet as she tried to yank it out. Her attention caught on the sight of two huge men who were striding toward her. Her vision was foggy but she could deduce from their appearance and her awareness of such people who were outfitted like that were slave traders.

With fright, the girl limped faster as she veered around to see the men's pace increase toward her and she was instantly certain that they wanted her.

The girl quickly offered a silent prayer before she limped harder, trying to get away from the monsters.

The men continued to heighten their pace, it was already apparent to them by the girl's reaction that they had been recognized by her.

"Hurry up, you fool". The man with a bush beard yelled to the beardless man who looked less bulky. " We can't afford to miss her".

"But she is limping, who would buy a handicapped?" The regardless man asked.

"I don't care, we can fix her when we get hold of her, now hurry up ". The man on the beard instructed as he strode hastily in the downpour.

Aurora who had limped farther away from them saw the men who were continuously coming after her, as she limped into the dark forest.

The forest was already dark and gloomy. The tree, stones and creatures in the forest were casting shadows which were frightening her. She had never embarked into the forest at night. She heaved a sigh of relief on seeing she had lost them, as she stopped to catch her breath. Suddenly she felt her heart jump when she saw something or a creature she didn't know of, jump from one tree to another.

Panic was setting in.
