His night's light

- - - "you don't think I could bring myself to mark your lovely skin?. I'll carve my name in your breast so that every beat of your heart will remind you that you are mine and mine alone. Because blood is binding and I would rather see you destroyed by me than see you free or in the possession of another, I suggest you do not try me or you would suffer as no creature has". He said trapping her on the wall as he stroked her cheek."You are dancing only with me and no one else, I shouldn't remind you that I can kill because I wouldn't hesitate to destroy my opposer, my sweet girl". He said as he whispered to her ears before he gently blew her ears, making her heart skip beats. The girl stared at him with a hard expression, before asking" Do you love me then?". "No". He responded immediately " Then you are evil". She said "And you are mine". He said before he leaned toward her as his teeth grazed her neck making the girl gasp. . Expand in the dark Shrink in the light Save Aurora. The scarred girl frowned deeply as she read the contents of the old letter from an old box that she had found in the attic. These were the only words it contained. What was the meaning of this and why was her name written on it? She thought as she continuously checked the paper.

Beginning of the uninterpreted dreams

The little girl was still unconscious and the man who had pulled her out carried her like a leper before putting her into the readied arms of the woman. Little Aurora could already sense the man had a disliking toward the little girl, while the woman had a deeper connection with her, who had the child carried away to one of the houses which she could see, was lighted with candles.

She wanted to know where the couple was taking the little girl. She felt the sudden urge to follow them. To satisfy her little curious self, little Aurora followed the couple. She had the couple followed into one of the deserted houses to see them not there anymore.

She became confused. Aurora saw the spectacle switch, for her to come to face a shocking scene that made the little girl freeze in her footsteps, with wide eyes and open mouth, she felt her legs begin to tremble, threatening to break if she wouldn't let them fall, and she obliged, letting her knees touch the cold ground and cupping her mouth, so she wouldn't gain attention on her. She was scared-stiff, her eyes were already brimming with tears.

She saw a young girl that looked so much like her tied around a pole, a wildfire was encircled with bricks in a square shape beside her, while her look-alike titled her left side of the face which was without a scar to the fire in an unconscious state.

She - - she couldn't comprehend what was going on here. Her head was spinning like some roller-coaster. How was her look-alike self without a scar on her left face? Maybe it was some twin, she didn't know? She was confused. What was she doing here, tied on a pole and still sleeping when a raging fire was placed beside her?.

She saw a man on a cloak begin to whisper incoherent words to the fire before different people in a different colours of cloaks made their way repeatedly around it.

She saw two men on gloves, who hung short guns on the belt strapped around their waist, strode towards her lookalike to untie and carry her up. She saw one pick her by her arms and the other by her legs like she was some leper, it was obvious they didn't want her in contact with their body.

She saw them carry her up, proceeding to the direction of the fire and Aurora could already imagine them throwing her into the fire, which was truly horrifying her and she wanted to scream out loud. She wanted to scream out loud for them to let her go but no matter how extreme she used her strength to shout or speak, she realized they couldn't hear her. She couldn't even hear her voice.

Little Aurora felt fresh tears gush through her eyes, streaming down her cheeks. She was feeling vulnerable.

Raising her feet to rush over to stop the men from taking her lookalike, she felt an invisible wall obstructing her from moving further and no matter what direction she was about to take, she wasn't allowed to go near them.

Aurora saw the first man on a cloak drag her lookalike from the men's hands onto the hot floor where the fire was now extinguished. She felt her body going hot with every passing second, she realized she was sharing the same feel and touch with this girl been dragged to the fire. She began to whimper from the feel of the burn on her skin.

She saw the man bend himself to pour some liquid over her body; from her head to her toes, making sure he had applied it on the right face while ignoring the left side of her face, which got little Aurora frowning with suspicion and pain. He whispered more words after he was done with the liquid, hurling a lighted candlestick into the marked floor.

"Let the sacred fire burn, let the sacred flames mark this soul as it's'. Never to let it go away from its presence, till she is brought back to become as the ashes in this fireplace". Aurora heard the man say, as everyone surrounding the fire; chorused "Let it mark".

And after the man on the cloak had repeated this word, he walked out of the square shape to see the fire circle around her before extinguishing. It was like magic to her. She saw it come alive again, crawling like the snake and then making a moon sign on the floor, right beside her lookalike's left face, extinguishing completely. Aurora sighed in relief; thank goodness. She had thought, the fire had wanted to burn her.

She saw the man walk closer again to her, pointing at her left face to whisper something. Seeing the man jump out with full force, she was shocked to see a raging fire burn her left face. She saw her lookalike stir a bit and then scrunch her face like she was already sensing the hotness and pain, while she tried to move her face away from the fire. Like it was some spell cast onto the child, she was still not awake.

After some seconds had passed on staring at the still tied girl in anguish, with shock, she felt a dull aching pain that had started to discomfort her left face. Oh please let it not be what she was thinking. Little Aurora felt panicky.

She felt the dull aching pain intensify into a sharp pain that shot through her left face, stabbing her, letting her know of a raw-feeling pain. She twisted and continuously squirmed her body on the cold floor; in pain and violent effort, letting a loud piercing scream erupt through her lips, which went unnoticed by the other people in the room. They couldn't hear her.

Little Aurora jerked up awake in fear before she screamed out with every energy in her, holding her left face, letting the fresh tears drop down on the bed. It was so painful, although it was a dream. Her left face hurt so much like it was been roasted in the fire.

Aurora saw her grandmother dash into the room with apparent apprehension written all over her face. Emmeline shook her granddaughter, trying to make the girl look at her while the girl shook her head away as she continued to whimper, holding her left face.
