His Flower: Book 1

"There she is!" Demetri jumped with glee but Ezra didn't even take a look at her. "She's perfect. Ezra do look at her." Prince Ezra sighed, annoyed. He rustled the frost colored locks of hair between his fingers before lifting his head to look up. His crimson eyes finally met her and for a second, his cold heart stopped.

Chapter 3: Pet Life Part l

When Katerina awoke, she was shackled to a wall. Both of her arms were risen up and plated to the concrete wall. Her head was hung forward, and she was sitting on the dirt ground, knees bent to face away from her body.

Her eyes slowly opened, forgetting for a moment of where she was or what had happened. She rose her head up to clear her vision and look around. "H-hello?" Her voice was hoarse and parched. Her pink lips were cracked slightly and her ginger red hair was knotted.

"She's awake." A voice hissed, but she saw nothing. She squinted her eyes at the darkness in the corner to see something step forward into the candle light. A devilish grin encompassed his face as he came closer to her.

She froze her body, unable to speak. She suddenly remembered that her family had been slaughtered causing her eyes to well with tears.

"Send word to the shop owner. He will want to inspect her before we do the exchange." His voice was sinister that sent shivers down her spine.

Once the shop owner arrived, the wooden door flew open with such force that caused a slight breeze against her now ruined dress. A tall old man stepped into the room, clicking a cane along with him.

"Is this the one?" He asked the vampire which only kept his head bowed.

"Yes. She was found in the kingdoms forbidden forest. We believe she will be good to sell."

Sell? She thought. She didn't want to be sold nor did she want to be here. Her wrists began to twirl in the shackles to try and shake them loose.

The old man tilted his head, intrigued by her. "She's fairly rebellious. You know those do not last long in the shop." The old man scolded the vampires.

"Look at her. You will change your mind. She has the description of what you've been looking for." The vampire went over to the girl and yanked her head up by her hair towards the old man.

She winced at the pain but held a straight expression that made the old man smile. He stepped towards her and eyed her features, hair and body structure. He then lifted the cane to slither up her leg and lifting her dress.

"Stop it!" The words blurted out. She felt humiliated because women were to hold on to their chastity for as long as she could.

"She speaks. That will up the price along with the way she looks." The old man turned to the two vampires. "How much do you want for her?"

"Five hundred gold nuggets." One hissed making the old man laugh.

"Is she untainted and pure?" The old man question before making a decision.

The vampire leaned over to sniff her, "She surely has never been bitten and she's as pure as a virgin would be."

Excellent, the man thought. Tapping the cane on the dirt he spoke,

"She's scarred for life. Her traumatizing memories brings her value down. I have to make some sort of profit." The old man held his cane. "200 gold nuggets and not a penny more."

The vampires greedily agreed and unshackled the girl from the wall. She was then placed into a caged wagon. The old man paid the vampires and stepped into the wagon front seat. A grin appeared upon his face as the horses led them away. He finally got the human he wanted to have in his shop. This would make his shop crawling with buyers once the word spread and he knew he would get more than 200 gold nuggets for her. He knew that price would go in to the thousands.
