She was not even hearing what they were saying. She was in her world. It's like she seized to exist just for a moment and was caught up in a universe of her own. Her life had just started to get normal and then this had to come up.
She suddenly felt a hollowness in her. Something that was not there before. She had this feeling that she did not belong. She wanted to know her mother or whoever she was.
Did they love her? What about her father was he alive? Why hadn't he come looking for her? Maybe they had just wanted to get rid of her.
She could not rest or be at peace until she knew who she was. She wanted to know where her home was and if she even had other siblings.
It was just something that she had to know so she would finally be at peace and stop obsessing over the thought of it. She had not noticed that someone was coming. She had long gone forgotten that someone was to join them for dinner.
It was not even the footsteps that started her. It was the scent that was in the air that caught her attention. It smelled so divine that all she wanted was to stuff her face into it and inhale it.
She wanted to know who it belonged to because it was not anyone that was in the room with her.
There was just something sexy about a man smelling divine and clean. A lot of them just smelled like sweat and wore the same shirt for a week straight.
She turned around and there was. He was talk about six feet tall. She could tell that he worked out as she could see his thighs as they strained in the slacks that he was wearing.
She could not see his face until he stepped into the light. His hair was jet black and was jelled back. He looked like someone who was coming out of a meeting.
The seriousness of his face even made his features more noticeable. His jawline was so sharp it could cut right through something.
His eyes were a sweet honey, the type of eyes that you looked at and got lost in. She had been gawking at him and did not realize that he was standing right next to where she was seated and was talking to her.
"Hey", he said again a little bit louder trying to snap her out of the trance she was stuck in. His voice was both hoarse and soft.
It was commanding yet again calming. She had become a test. Thirsting over a guy who did not even know her name. She could imagine how his voice would sound when he whispered something in her ear.
Her mind was tainted and all she could think about was the way that voice sent chills down to her bad and tingling sensations. It was then that it occurred to her that he was talking to her.
She looked up and everyone was staring at her to say something but she did not even know what he had asked her or said. She smiled and cleared her throat and spoke up.
"Am sorry I didn't hear you the first time I was just distracted", she says blushing.
What had become of her, she wondered. No man had ever gotten this kind of reaction from her. Enzo was attractive she could not deny but then there was just something about his brother.
He screamed masculine the moment you looked at him. The type of men people respected. The one who men apologize to. The type of man you enter a room with and every man in there just wants to even have half the power that he had.
He walked like he was a powerful person and that was something that she could just ignore. He had just infiltrated every fiber of her being.
"It's fine no need to apologize I have that kind of effect in a lot of ladies", he says smirking.
She could not believe her eyes. He was not only attractive but he knew he was and was also cocky about it. He had just embarrassed her Infront of everyone by making it clear to them that she was gawking at him.
He went and sat directly opposite where she was sited. She had always been a shy girl but she always managed to look like she had a hold of herself when she was around men.
She never wanted to look fragile in Infront of them because they would take advantage of her and that was the last thing she ever wanted.
She had only eaten half her food and at that moment she realized that this was not her home. She could not wake up in the middle of the night to look for food so she had to eat up.
She took her fork and knife and in an attempt to cut the meat but somehow the knife had become blunt. The knife that she had been using right before he came in.
Her hands were trembling due to the anxiety and she was quite sure it was noticeable. All of them were engaged in a conversation concerning business.
She wanted to look up and study his features but she could not find the courage. It's like she had turned into a hormonal teenager once again.
Blushing every time he looked at her. She was just making a fool out of herself she had to snap out of the trance she was in.
She knew he was looking at her even without looking up at him. She fidgeted with the dress she was wearing and all of a sudden she realized how ugly the dress was.
She had been so happy wearing it and had not thought that maybe they were going to have company. She was acting like a girl who had her first crush and was trying everything they could to get them to like her.
He could see her fidgeting with her dress and it amused him. The blush on her face when she looked up at her sold her out. It was clear she had a crush on him. He was used to getting people liking him and women throwing themselves at him but he had never seen anyone like her
She looked shy and unsure of herself as she looked down. His best guess was that she looked at the outfit she was wearing and realized it was not flattering.
He did not care about the clothes that she was wearing. If it was his choice he would probably prefer her naked. He had seen her a couple of times and knew exactly who she was.
She had to drop the innocent shy act if she was going to be her mate. What would he say to people when she could not talk in front of them.
He just hoped she was not talking because she was flustered by him and was afraid that she was going to say something stupid. He wondered what she was going here in the first place and sitting with Enzo.
"So are you guys a thing?", he asked out loud.
"No we are not", they all said in unison. Like they had been waiting all night for someone to ask them that question. They all turned to look at each other and looked away almost immediately.
