1. POOL OF BLOOD

When she regained consciousness, the first place she looked at were her hands…they were bloody.

Her breath shuddered as her left eyebrow twitched just like her fingers. Her lips trembled as they parted to utter just a word but nothing could come out.

Slowly, her gaze lowered to the ground and it was then she noticed the pool of blood around her.

She couldn't move, scared of the unknown. She couldn't fathom who the blood belonged to…but the question was; why was she seated in a pool of blood?

As if realization finally hit her, she clasped her stomach with her right hand when a mind freezing pain shot through her lower abdomen, causing her to scream in anguish.

"Argghhhhh!!!"

The pain didn't show any sign of subsiding and she kept screaming. She didn't want to believe it, she didn't want to accept it.

"ADAM!!!"

She called out her lover's name but no response came.

Where could he have gone? Or was he dead too?

Oh God no!...She tried to get up but couldn't due to the terrible pain she felt.

"ADA-Ahhh!!!" Her pretty face contorted in pain as she clasped her lower abdomen with both hands while tears spiraled down her face.

"Adam?!! Adam…where are you?" She sobbed while struggling to get up on her feet.

She was losing a lot of blood and at the same time she felt a terrible urge to lick the blood around her…

The more the pain in her abdomen heightened, the more she realized she had lost the baby and the pool of blood belonged to her and no one else.

Some distance away from her sat the car she came in, it was terribly damaged and the driver was dead but there was no sign of Adam…where did he go?

He couldn't have left her in such a condition right? He loved her.

Her cries increased and due to her heavy thirst for blood, she lay on the ground and began to lick her own blood while in tears. It was the worst thing ever, but she couldn't control it.

The events of what happened began to replay in her mind and her body vibrated in pure anguish as she sobbed in silence…

"Dad?"

"Yes, my Luna?"

A long pause reigned like she was contemplating whether to tell him or not.

Her gray eyes were focused on the love of her life, Adam, who was seated in the car beside her. He gave her a reassuring smile and she smiled back before confessing to her father over the phone.

"I'm pregnant."

Another long pause came in before her father asked a question every other father would be interested in asking.

"For who?" His calm voice came through.

"Adam…the demon of fear," she added the last line since she hadn't informed him that the man she loved was a demon.

Adam's smile broadened and he lifted her left hand to his lips before planting a light kiss on her knuckles.

A deafening silence set in and it made her begin to feel nervous.

"Dad?"...

And that was when it happened, their car was suddenly hit by an unknown force and it sent the car flying in the air before tumbling heavily to the ground…

She wasn't even given the time to let him know she was on her way to see him. She planned to pay him a surprise visit and introduce Adam to him but look where things landed them.

"ADAAAAM!!!" She screamed his name once more when she could no longer hold back the pain she felt.

She had lost her baby…her baby was gone.

To make matters more devastating, she had informed her father over the phone that she was pregnant.

"Nooo!...God no…I can't lose my baby."

She knew her father despised demons due to reasons of the past and the unborn baby in her womb was the only way to make him accept her love, Adam.

Now…what would she do?
