Chapter 11

It's been two days since Hunter broke the news of our engagement to me and I've accepted that I was going to marry him in respect of my late father's wish.

But mom do owe me an explanation. She shouldn't have hide all this from me.

I was about to enter the kitchen when someone blocked me from entering. I look to see one of the maids.

"Excuse me, you are not allowed to enter" she says.

I raised an eyebrow.

"Why? " I ask.

"I'm sorry, i can't let you in "

"Are you kidding me? In my own fucking house? "

Not my house but she was embarrassing me,i just have to use that phrase to get away.

"Hunter! I yell and run upstairs to meet him.

I met him on the stairs coming downstairs.

"What's wrong? " he ask.

"Okay, those maids are getting on my nerves. Can you please warn them? " I told him.

"Tell me what happened? "

"I was thinking of going to the kitchen to prepare something for myself since it has been long I did. But then they won't allow me to " I explain panting heavily.

Hunter sigh shaking head

"Gather all the maids" he said to the guy beside.

"Yes sir" he bows and walk away.

"Wait it has not gotten to that, just tell them to let me.." I tried to stop him but it was too late, he stands up following the direction the former took, i followed suit.

"There's a new development in this house, but I'll pardon you because you don't know about it before. " he grab my wrist and pull me closer making me gasp in surprise. The heat of his hand gave me sparks and i can't help but flush red.

"Lauren here is my Fiance, she's going to be my wife soon so she has every right to do anything she wants in this house. Am I understood? " hunter says.

This is the first time he called me by my name and the way he says it makes my heart flip. The announcement surprised everyone except Hunter and I ofcourse.

"Who among you denied her access to the kitchen?" Hunter ask and i quickly interrupt.

"Okay, that's really unnecessary Hunter you don't have to worry about it " I say

"You can all leave now " I say to the maids and they left.

Hunter glared at me and I gave him a cocky look.

"Let's go " he said to the guys beside him and he began to walk out.

I ran after him.

"Where are you going? " I ask.

"It's none of your business "

"Come on, I'm your wife remember? I have to know where you are heading to "I say still running after him.

He reach his car and turn to me.

"Listen, what I do, where I go to is none of your fucking business. So stay out of my way, you are my wife not my mother " he says and enter his car.

Did he just...

I stood rooted on a spot and I watch his car leave till it was out of sight.

Did I do wrong asking him where he was going. Is this what I'll go through if we get married?

Hunter is a cold idiot, and I'll will melt him.

I enter the mansion and head straight to my room ignoring the maid greetings, chattering and them asking if I need anything.

Immediately I entered my room, I fall on my bed and sleep off.

I wake up feeling moody and down. I guess Hunter's word got to me this morning.

I'm easily hurt with words than being tortured, so don't blame me.

I groan and toss around on my bed. I hit the soft bed angrily.

I stand up from the bed and walk downstairs. I really need something to cool my self down right now.

I ask one of the maids to get me a bottle of whiskey and a cup.

I heard getting makes you forget everything and your brain will be light as a feather. I need that.

I gulp the last drop and groan.

"I need more " I shout.

I raise the can of the beer seeing it was empty, i groan and stand. Since no one is bringing me anoda, I'm going to get it myself. I walk or more like stagger into the kitchen, where i see some maids looking at me.

I turn to them pointing a finger at them. "So you all are here, and you refuse to answer me when I called you"

"I'm going to report you all when Hunter comes back."

I grab another beer from the freezer and stagger my way out of the kitchen reaching the stairs, i don't know why i keep falling when I try to climb. Obviously the effect of alcohol.

After falling the second time, I felt someone grab me and lead me to my room. I wanted to say thank you to the person but my eyes are heavy, i just fall on the bed.

I'm about drifting off to sleep when I remember 'my beer'

I stand up and thankfully it was beside me on the bed i grab it and open it telling myself it's the last one and I'm going to sleep after this.

"What do you think you are doing Lauren!" someone growled from my door making me look up.

"Oh Hunter you are here, come..come have a drink "I say demonstrating for him to come with my hands.

He gave me a murderous look and snatch the beer away from my hand.

"Give me " I whined trying to get it back jumping on him to try reaching the hand which he raised up. He then throws it away letting it pour on the floor.

My eyes widen" How dare you!" i cry throwing punch at all with all energy i can form.

He grab my wrist and carries me up, Laying me on the bed he says "you don't know what you are doing Lauren "

I rolled my eyes at him and tried to sit up.

He glares angrily at me.

"Sleep!" he States.

"What, I'm not.. " I tried to say but he shouts at me. "sleep now!!!"

"Okaaay but sleep with me"i grab his wrist pouring at him.

"Lauren" he sigh frustrated but I keep giving him the cute puppy eyes until he mutters something under his breath and climb the bed beside me. I smile in satisfaction and close my eyes.

Waking up with a hangover is probably the worst feeling in the world, that no sane person will look forward to.

I nuzzle my head on the shoulder of the person sleeping next to me and sigh at the warmth I receive in their tight grasp as an arm was wrapped around my waist.

Uh?

Someone in my bed?

I turned around to see Hunter shifting in sleep as I struggle in his hold.

Why did he sleep here?

Oh, I remember asking him last night to stay.

Memories of last night flood into my head. That was so embarrassing, I'll never drink again ever in my life.

"You awake?" Hunter's husky voice suddenly say breaking me out of my trance.

"Yes "I mutter rubbing my throbbing head as I hiss in pain.

I felt him unwrap his arm around my waist and I felt the other side of the bed lift.

I look up to see him walking out the room.

He came back minutes later with a cup of water in his hand.

"Take this, it will help relieve your headache " he says and gave me a drug with the water.

I took it from him and use it. I look up to see him staring down at me.

"Hm thank you...for hm yesterday" I say staring at him.

"Why did you drink Lauren " he says.

Gosh, I hate that my name sounds so good coming from him.

"Nothing " I say and sit up.

"Lauren!" he growls.

"Why did you get drunk last night"

God not this morning.

"I said nothing Hunter and why do you even care " I shout.

Why is he asking like its a big deal. He drinks too and I don't question him.

"Lauren " he warns.

"Look Hunter, I'm not in for fight this morning. Please "

"Until you tell me why drink your self to stupor last night, do you realise what you are doing to yourself? "

I huff angrily.

"Don't act like you freaking care about me, it's none of your business. Gosh! Why do you even..." 'Care ' I wanted to say but was cut short with Hunter's lip on mine.
