CHAPTER 31

MAGEDELENE'S POV

Magedelene coming out from her class, She's about to go to the next class, When she sees an Elderly Man in his Fifties behind her, calling her name.

She looks back and stops, waiting up for him to catch up with her, She looks at the Man as he approaches.

Steph had called her and told her everything.

Was she even ready for all of this? What would she say?

Was she expecting all this to happen all of a sudden?.

The Man's voice interrupts her thoughts.

"I guess you must be Magedelene, I am Inspector Spark, I was sent here by your biological Dad." Spark speaks, as he gasps for breath, He was walking too fast for his Age.

That word 'biological Father' pierce through her heart, hot blood rushes through her body.

Steph had told her everything but hearing it herself, She couldn't describe what it did to her.

"Follow me Mr Spark, let's go over there it calmer." Magedelene says as she uses her bag to shield the scorching sun from herself.

They both move there together, Magedelene breaks the silence "You were saying something about my birth Dad?" She faces Spark as she speaks.

"Yes, Your birth Dad, Speak breaths in, as he's about to say the next words.

"He has been searching for you for over a decade." Spark saying his words carefully as he sits on the iron chair.

Magedelene eyes goes wide "What do you mean he's been searching for me for over a decade?"

She's shocked, All her life, She never thought for once her birth Dad, was going to be searching for her.

Spark could feel he's getting her attention "Didn't your Mom tell you about it."

All these information is strange to her, Steph didn't tell her anything about her Dad, She even said she didn't know her birth Dad.

Steph only told her, Some strange Investigation was harassing her and saying some stuff about her birth Dad wanting to reconnect with her after how many years now.

Magedelene turns over to Spark, trying to remove the perplex expression on her face.

"My Mom didn't know anything about my Dad until now." She gets angry.

'Was this Investigator or her birth Dad trying to pinpoint their incapabilities on Steph.' she thinks to herself

"What do you think you're trying to do?, Are you trying to make me hate my Mom?" Magedelene goes really angrily as she stands up, leaving Spark presence, He's uttering rubbish.

Other students had started looking at their direction. Spark didn't care, This is the only chance he's got now.

He stands up, then speaks aloud "Have you ever wondered why y'all are always moving into different cities every now and then."

Magedelene stops halfway, When Spark spoke those words

"What the hell are you talking about, My mom did all those stuff to protect me, protect herself." Magedelene moving closer to him as she speaks.

Spark keeps quiet, nods his head gently, When she gets to where he was standing, He tells her.

"Your Mom lied, She lied almost about everything."

Magedelene eyes goes red, She couldn't and wouldn't accept whatever Spark was saying, She looks at him with tears in her eyes

"You don't get to come here, and say things about my Mom, You don't know a thing about Her." She says as she breathing hard.

"I get where you're coming from , but I want you to really think about this,I don't dispute the fact that She must have done, Whatever to protect you,

But the main purpose here is She was hiding you from your real family." Spark trying to convince her.

Magedelene couldn't speak again, as they both stare at each other, with tears in her eyes.

" Sir, I think you've hassled her enough." A voice startles them. Magedelene knew that voice, She turns behind slowly to see who it's. This man had sucked all the energy in her with his words.

It's Sam, Clunging onto his bag, as he comes closer holding her hands.

Spark takes a step backwards, Immediately, He puts his hands through his Pocket as he brings out his card.

"I am sorry about that Son, Please here's my card, Give this to her, She really needs it."

Spark handing his business card, to Sam who was hesitant to take it.

Magedelene looks at the card, returning her eyes to Spark. That word 'She lied almost about everything'. keeps replaying on her head.

They both look at eachother, Spark didn't say a word again, She watches him as he leaves.

"I really don't think you're in the best position to go to class right now." Sam words made her remember he was still there.

She turns to his direction 'He must have heard everything.' She thinks to herself.

She looks at their hands, He's still holding onto her, She lets go off his hands slowly and starts to walk away.

Sam follows her "Atleast let me drive you home, You're not just at the right state of mind."

She shots her eyes at him "All because you helped me, it doesn't give you the right to say am not at the right state of mind." She shots at him angrily.

She could see Sam was taken back with the expression on his Face.

He manages to speak "Ok I am sorry about that, let me drive you home." He says looking concerned.

She shot him a straight look "Don't you have something better to do."

"You know what, I won't stand here to be insulted." He starts to walk away, as the other students were starting to look at their direction once again.

Then it occurs to her, she's been rude for no reason once again "I'm sorry, Please take me home." She says gently.

Sam turns his back towards her, points towards where his car is parked, As they move towards the car's direction,

Magedelene could feel, other student talking behind them, She knew she would be the news of the day, But she more pending matters.

Inside the Car, They were both silent for a long time. Magedelene in her thoughts while Sam stealing glances at her.

"Did you hear everything he said?" Magedelene shots him the question, as she ctches him glancing at her.

Sam turns towards where she's seated, he breathes inwardly "I didn't get to hear much, but I know enough." Sam tells her.

"Hey, am sorry for acting the way I did, Thanks for coming to my shield." Magedelene manages to speak, her voice breaking.

Sam finds her hands on the car seat, with his eyes focusing on the road, He tightens his hands around hers.

"Hey." He calls out to her first, then he brings his eyes towards hers, Magedelene eyes are on her lap, her eye is bloody red.

" Hey, it's fine, See trust me all these would all be cleared up soon." He speaks gently.

Which made Magedelene tear up even hard.

Sam hands still tightening around hers, He didn't say anything again, Sam could tell she needed to let everything all out.

The car is silent again while she sobs gently. He gets to a stop He was at the gate of her hostel.

He lets go off her hands, as he brings Magedelene into a hug, She stays there for a while as she clungs onto him.

"Hey, if you want to take a break from the company it's okay." He speaks into her ears, as they are still clinging onto each other.

She lets go off him and takes her bag "I don't think so, I need all the distractions right now."

Sam nods his head as she speaks, Magedelene gets off his Car, She thanks him and gets off the Car.

Then it occurred to Sam, the business card,

"Magedelene, The card?" He comes down from the car, as he holds the card out for her to see.

She turns back at him, She eyes the card in his hands, she nods her head t at she didn't want it.

Sam puts the card in his pocket,without saying a word, He didn't move am inch until he sees Magedelene goes into her room.
