Birds of the same feather flock together

It's almost lunchtime yet Kathline was nowhere to be found. She’s already hungry.

It appears like Kathline will take longer to arrive. While waiting for her great friend, insert sarcasm here… Celestine decided to get lunch and eat alone.

It didn’t take long for her to buy a meal. Then, suddenly… While Celestine was busy eating her food, someone approached her.

"M-may I sit here?" The lady shyly asks. Celestine nodded in agreement, also she’s alone at the table so there’s no problem for them to sit with each other.

The lady carefully puts down her food tray on the table. She silently pulls the chair and sits there. She elegantly eats her food and Celestine can’t stop herself from watching her.

The girl's skin is like porcelain. Her amber eyes glistened, and her light brown, short wavy hair gave her a youthful and innocent appearance. She also has a kind demeanor that makes you feel at ease around her.

Celestine averted her gaze. It might be uncomfortable for the lady to be stared at like that.

"Have you been here for a long time?" The lady starts the conversation. Celestine shakes her head. "No, actually… I am new here."

She pondered for a while. "Really? I thought you were here for a long time. I heard some stories earlier and it seems they were talking about you. They seem to know you." The lady said a matter of fact.

"Don't mind them, someone was here with me a while ago that's why they were talking about me." Celestine shrugged her shoulder after she said those words. Then, kills someone in her head a thousand times.

"Oh, it was Zach… isn't he?" The girl giggles when she mentions that name. She looks at Celestine with those expectant eyes.

"You know him?" Celestine furrows her brows. As she stares at the girl, she convinces herself that maybe she’s not as innocent like her looks.

"Well, yeah. He's my—"

The girl was cut off when someone shouted her name.

Seriously? If her mind can kill someone, two-person might be dead by now.

She wants to dig a hole right now. The people turn their heads and now, their attention has switched back to her… again.

"Celestine!"

Kathline hastily walks towards Celestine's place. As soon as she stands beside Celestine, she shifts her gaze to the girl in front of Celestine. Kathline widened her eyes, she blurted out in surprise, "Veronica!"

Kathline looked surprised as soon as she saw her friend.

She immediately hugged Veronica and yelled. “Aaahhh! Veronica, I miss you!”

“Girl do you want to suffocate me?” She tightens her hug once more before finally releasing her friend from the hug.

“Silly, I just miss you.”

Kathline looks at Celestine and introduces her other friend. "By the way Tine, she's my friend… Veronica - the one I'm talking about. Veronica, she’s Celestine, our new friend!"

"Oh, then ... I'm pleased to meet you." Celestine warmly smiled at her.

Veronica smiled too. "It doesn't seem like a waste of time to approach you earlier."

Kathline pulled up the chair next to Celestine and sat there. Celestine stood up, carrying the tray containing her plate and utensils on it.

She excused herself, "I'll just bring it back first." The two ladies nodded. Kathline puts her bag on the table while Veronica continues eating her food.

"When did you get back?"

Veronica shrugged. "Just the day before yesterday."

Kath raised an eyebrow at what she heard. "And you didn't even tell me."

Veronica laughed when she saw Kathline's expression. "I got busy. Mother ordered me to help her at the farm."

Veronica is Kathline's high school friend. They've been friends for years and they've almost memorized each other's habits. If Kathline is busy being a part-time model, Veronica is busy helping their farm.

“She seems to know Zach. A lot of stories are circulating about them.” Veronica worriedly stated. “She’s too innocent for him.”

“It seems we need to strengthen our guard to protect her. We don’t need another victim from him even though he’s also our friend.

"You already got your schedule?" Zachary asks his friend who is sitting at the bench in front of the office.

Clarence looks at Zachary who is smiling like an idiot. Sometimes, he's wondering what the heck is running through Zachary’s mind. He could smile like an idiot, then get mad like his terror math teacher.

He glared at Zachary and hit him using the folder he’s holding. 'Give me back my friend.' Clarence prayed inside his head.

Zachary’s smile disappeared. He’s pissed off right now. "What was that for?" he angrily asks. Who in the right mind will hit his friend upon seeing him?

"Oh, I thought my friend got abducted and replaced by an alien." Clarence sarcastically stated, he even smirked. “Seriously dude, you looked like an idiot a while ago. It creeps me out while looking at you, walking while smiling… alone. Ah! Thinking about it makes me scared.” He added.

He even rubbed his arms then showed how he got goosebumps there. Zachary's face returned to seriousness when he heard what his friend said. He wants to smash that face now.

"Where's my schedule?" he said while extending his hand, asking for his class schedule.

“Inside the office, go on and get it. What am I your slave? Do you think I will get your schedule after waiting here for so long? Never dude!”

Zachary just wanted to dig a hole and bury Clarence alive at that time. His brain is different from how normal people think. How could someone like him be his friend? He even had the guts to hit him using that folder when his schedule wasn't there.

He walked to the door, irritated. Clarence spoke out before he could open the door.

"Hurry up. Veronica is waiting in the cafeteria,” he said while glancing at his wristwatch.

Zachary coldly stared at him, then angrily opened and closed the office door.

Ha! He even had the guts on being impatient when he's the one who is an hour late.

People inside the office were shocked and annoyed at the same time. Who wouldn't be annoyed if suddenly someone enters the office and slams the door shut? The rest of them have not eaten lunch because of their busy schedule.

“Mr. Havenford, could you please open and close the door as quietly as possible next time?”

Zachary only looks at him for a second, then casually walks to another table where he could get his schedule. He would rather walk to their office than wait in line at the registrar.

After printing his schedule. They gave it to him. Without saying anything, he left the office.

The school staff there could only sigh at the man's behavior. All the faculty members and school staff know him since he was the son of one of their school directors. They could only grit their teeth and zip their mouth.

Zachary was in a foul mood after that. Why is everyone against him when he's happy? What a miserable life he had!
