Expensive World

Brand saw the object on top of the countertop that resembled either a bad joke or a nightmare's medium. It was one of those old-fashioned monkeys with two plates that served the purpose of an alarm, however... it was connected to a charge of TNT through two tiny red and blue cables.

'F-For real...?' He held it in his hands; too scared to even interact with it thinking that perhaps he'd mistakenly pressed the button to activate it.

'When you said this thing would connect to any object in existence, you really meant it, didn't you?' I asked Hollow, awestruck... if I didn't know any better I'd think the system is joking with me, but this TNT looks authentic.

I stored the dangerous thing in the inventory and sat down, thinking, 'What should I do...?'

The existence of Blackwatch worried me... everything would be way easier if we were just fighting blind zombies. I couldn't stop thinking why they'd kill all of those people and put the corpses in the vehicle. In any case, I need to prepare my group for them in case we meet them.

We need more weapons... my group is far from being adept in marksmanship. We're not like those madmen. Only Lucy, Hirano and I are that good with guns, with Saya being a close runner together with Saeko. Shizuka... perhaps only by placing the gun straight onto the zombie's head would she be able to hit the target. The only reason I'm not using one myself is to assist Saeko in the front and cause less noise, I don't want her to face all of them by herself but Takashi and Rei are resulting to be nice covers.

'Should we start making some noise?' Those bastards' guns were silent unlike ours. That said, their vehicle was making a fair amount of noise and attracting a few zombies.

'I think we can handle them with guns...' It was the only way to go along without taxing ourselves... if this Monkey bomb does what I think it does, then there should be no problem.

My objective is to find a vehicle as fast as possible to go towards the Takagi State... it is not a problem, I can drop them and the Takagi State is also en-route towards the mansion. The streets are filled with small cars, but those are too feeble against these zombies and we all don't fit inside either. I need something bigger.

I scratched my head and sighed, my sight fixed on the window where the zombies started to converge once again upon the departure of Blackwatch.

If only I had scanned that bus before it got messed up... right now I would have had enough points to get one in the shop, it shouldn't have been more than a few hundred points.

After checking my inventory I pulled out a gun... my own Glock. I don't think it will be a nice idea to hand this over to Kyoko... she doesn't know how to use it, it might just cause an accident... I will just give it to Hirano. With Shizuka, Saya, Saeko, Lucy and me each holding a gun... it should make things a lot easier.

Let me see how I can gear us up with the points I have.

'Aside from Saeko, no one needs a Katana...' I thought, leaving my purple-haired girl to her own psychotic methods. The resolver is out of the question. Too powerful, too noisy.

I'm relieved that those monkey bombs are not expensive... or at least not to my current standards... it is almost a gacha roll. After buying a common weapon roll I now have 2430 gacha points. For now, I'm just getting two more of these just in case.

I will need enough ammo for all of us as well, five cartridges for each of us should do... that should be twenty-four... twenty-five cartridges of the Glocks.

That leaves me with 2020 points, still... am I missing something?

1970 points to go... I will set aside 970 for food in case we need it, which means that I currently have another thousand... I-I can use the rare type summon... should I do it?

I sighed and dropped the idea immediately, the last thing I want is to summon something weird, but... knowing how this system works, I might even end up summoning a cow. Honestly. that would be quite handy.

After sorting out all of my matters I sat down in front of the table and looked at the looming sun, progressively lighting up the sky in a dark blue shade. It was going to be a long day.

The morning went by and it was time to wake them up. I went around stirring them awake.

"Time to wake up, sleepy heads..." I went into the girl's rooms, curiously enough Kyoko was already awake, rubbing her eyes as if she woke up just now. Rei, however, was tightly glued to her tatami.

"One more minute..." She smiled and hugged her pillow harder, making me twitch my eyebrows.

I splashed some cold water on her face and she shot up as if she had seen a ghost. Does she think these are holidays or what?
