Chapter 3 - Me!

Now I know, I have dragged out this history lesson for a bit to long. And I haven't even told you who I am yet, so let me formally introduce myself.

My name is Felix, just Felix, those who don't have a family aren't given a last name. I know a bit rude right, but that brings me to my next point. I am an orphan, I grew up in a downtrodden and sardine filled house. Filled with crying and screaming kids, who like me had no parents or family to call their own. Don't get me wrong we where raised quite nicely, we all get to go to school and punishments rarely include a beating which I must say is a plus.

Alright back to me, like I said my name is Felix, I have light blue eyes with gold flecks, and dark black hair that I keep nicely cut.

Oh right, I am currently 13 years old and am 5 ft 9, not to bad if I say so myself. Now that you know my handsome features. Let me tell you about my….. personality, well let's see, I keep quiet most of the time mainly watching and learning. I don't try to be outspoken as that brings you more attention. I realised from a young age that if you draw more attention to yourself this can bring both good and bad attention. The good being you are more outspoken and make friends easier. The bad being when you awaken you can draw the attention of those who want to control you. Don't get me wrong awakening is awesome, and everyone wants to awaken some amazing power, whether it is flying, controlling an element or two. Or being able to shape-shift into both mythical creatures or earth animals.

Before I get back to why it's bad it's probably a good idea to tell you about the ranking of powers, yes I know a ranking. Who doesn't love it when the government imposes a ranking system, literally creating a hierarchy where the powerful, control and belittle the weak. Definitely helps when you need to know who can bully right….

So as I way saying, on your 14 birth year pretty well everyone awakens. And so a awakening ceremony is held, to showcase those who have awakened. This helps decide where you will be put for high school. The higher ranked your ability the better high school you can get into. And if you are ranked top tier in ability rankings, you can even get a scholarship offer to one of the top schools in the world. Offers are usually out in the next two weeks of the ceremony or if you don't get an offer you have to apply for a school and go through some exams and trials to get in.

Anyway back to the point of my personality, you can see why I like to keep a low profile. Like what's the point of making friends now when they could very well become your bully's in the coming months.

Now you might be wondering if I have awakened already, but I guess I could tell you. I mean who are you going to tell right, anyway yes I have awakened but guess what...

I am not telling you what my ability is yet ;)
