Preparations

We had to prepare provisions and measures for a trip of about seven days at high speed on a road for the ecocar only. It was built as an agreement between both colonies belonging to the former South and North America, since the eco way there, was exclusively for authorized people.

The good news is that on this road there were small populations that for some reason wanted to be independent of the colonies, mostly bandits who fled from the law. Even so, they were also the places where people from all the colonies met with those who lived in the Mixed Colony.

Because the governments of the other colonies said that those who lived there only went there to spy on their colonies and stupid things like that. When in reality they were the ones trying to catch those who lived there to torture and make them spies. It was the way they had to get information to take over the new colony.

That is why the measure was adopted so that those who were obliged to work or go for some authorized reason to the other colonies could not reveal their identity or what they were doing inside the colony. The other citizens could only receive visitors on the road, which was sometimes a very crowded place.

As they began to do the arrangements, I was entrusted with escorting Ale to her room. We went upstairs, and I tried to change the mood a little.

— This must be difficult for you, I'm sorry.

— It is, but I suppose time will heal it. Thanks, good night.

We were already in front of her room, I wanted to explain to her that I didn't mean to hurt her; however, there was something in me that held me back. I didn't know what was wrong with me, one minute I wanted to kiss her and be with her. But then it was like my reason was screaming at me that it wasn't possible, she was just a babe, I had gotten used to dating mature women and I wanted to avoid breaking her heart. Besides, I promised I would never fall in love again after all I had suffered years before.

In the end, she closed the door to her room and when I went to leave, I heard her say that she wanted time to pass quickly to forget what she did today.

He went back to his room, and for a moment, I was left wondering what the hell was wrong with me. I've always known I'm not like any human, but unusual times have been happening lately. And why do I have mixed feelings about her? I feel like something is telling me that we belong together.

When I closed the door again, my head hurt, it was too much information coupled with the pain of rejection I felt for Lee. When I put my head on my pillow it took me a while to fall asleep, I decided to stop thinking. At dawn, we were on our feet, my father made me dress as masculine as possible, hiding my hair in a cap. Mounted on Professor Kim's eco-car, we set off down the road.

— Uncle, there are probably alerts at the checkpoint.

— I know, I have everything covered. — Near the checkpoint we began to see the lines of vehicles, they were searching—. It's time to test if my high-tech equipment is worth it.

Suddenly, the back, where I was sitting with Lee went completely dark, hiding us, it was incredible. Ecocar models range from two to six seats, clearly, the two-seaters only have two doors.

There was the deception in Kim's car, it was a two-seater ecocar modified into a four-seater. So, as we got into the dark nothing was suspicious to the guards and, of course, we drove on.

On the way, we made just one stop in one of the villages, and it was remarkable how free and happy the people were there. The villages are not like open-air cities, instead, they are subterranean because they do not have the security of a dome.

In the middle of day six, I began to see the spikes of the colony towers. At the checkpoint they asked us for identification, Mr. Kim already had our permits, and when they saw them, they immediately stood at attention and waved. I did not understand what was going on, and apparently, it was clear on my face because Lee told me.

— My uncle is someone important here, that's why the soldiers' attention, not to mention that Alin Darell's husband and daughter have just entered.
