I can feel it (Part 1)

"I'm sorry, Sir, but you are going to have to wait outside. Due to the whole Covid situation, there are no guests allowed in the hospital. You will have to wait outside or check in to see a doctor." Said the chubby white middle aged security guard with glasses and a green mask.

They tried to protest, but "I'm sorry, if the ladies are not debilitated, to the point that they need someone else to speak for them, then you may not enter, sir." the other guard steps in and raises his voice. He was staring at Nick as if he hurt the women.

Violet's shiner was obvious even with Nick's hoodie up. Both women have bags of ice over their respective centers of pain. The women look to Nick. "OK, I'll have to wait in the car, you two do what you need to do. We all have our phones to communicate, right?"

"Yes, Dad." Rachel said, like an annoyed teenager. Nick took it in stride, but Violet gave her a sideways glance as she reaches for Nick. They hug and say "I love you." But he doesn't kiss her, as they are all wearing masks.

"Gross, get a room you two." Rachel says as she goes in to register at the patient check-in, for triage. Nick leaves and Violet goes inside to check in as well.

Once that's done they wait for about twenty minutes to be seen. The nurse asks if Violet was the victim of abuse by a partner, and she laughs, "You wouldn't believe me if I told you how this happened." The nurse is very concerned and asks again. "I got elbowed by a T-Rex."

The nurse looks more confused as Violet explains the last moments of her good time that night. Then the nurse's face gets red and she excuses herself. She made it to the break room without laughing, but then she saw the nurse from Rachel's room, and they both start laughing, knowing the story the other was just told.

The nurses laugh and retell the stories to their co-workers of the Tyrannosaurus Rex fight at the South Philly house party. Which led to two young underage drinkers to begin puking all over the house and an old man that knew them at the party being kind enough to drive them to the hospital.

The ridiculousness of the situation gave way to the room full of nurses laughing for so long, that the patient's discharge papers were left waiting on the printer. They had already had a long shift, dealing with the aftermath of the day's violence being brought right to their job. It was a welcome laugh of relief that the nurses and doctors on staff really needed to handle a day of so many traumas.

Within another 10-15 minutes, both ladies were given a relatively clean bill of health and sent on their way. Nick drove Rachel home, and then he and Violet, went home themselves. Nick walks the dog, so Violet can just pass out, as it was nearly 2am, and they were both tired from the long absurd day.

It's now just after 5am, and while rolling over, Violet puts her face on the pillow, where her eye had been hit. The pain from the bruise woke her up. She goes to the bathroom and relieves herself, then washes her hands. She is so thirsty, she heads right to the kitchen and downs half a large bottle of Nick's Whole Foods Seltzer water. She continues to nurse the bottle of water on the way back to the bedroom as well.

Nick is snoring again so she doesn't expect to get back to sleep any time soon. She stands by the window. The light of the full moon bathes all of her body that wasn't covered by Nick's hoodie.

She slides the chair over to the window and opens it. Violet then finds her bag and takes out a cigarette. She lights it after sitting in the chair.

In moments the smell sends the dog out of the room, hoping down off the bed. Violet continues to smoke and sits in the chair, with one leg over an arm rest. She is naked, save for the hoodie covering her breasts, shoulders, arms and hair. Meanwhile the moon bathes her in a light that makes her skin glow.

Maybe it was the sounds of the street, or the dog getting down, but all the movement, finally woke up Nick. When his eyes open, all he sees is a cloaked, divine being, smoking a cigarette in his chair by the window. He wasn't awake enough to recognize the trick the light was playing. He only saw the object of his worship, and felt the lingering effects of the secret happy pill he took earlier, also forgotten about, but still felt in his system.

Violet takes another long drink from the bottle and finishes it off. "Burp!" Came from her.

Nick giggles.

"Oh, I didn't mean to wake you." She says.

"I'm glad you did." He replies, smiling, crawling out of bed towards her like an animal, stalking its prey, soon to be devoured.

"My what big teeth you have?" Violet jokes.

She looks strong to him. Her legs were so fit, he couldn't keep himself from touching them.

"Better to eat you with." He jokes back.

In seconds, he is licking her furry cup, and she swings her legs over his shoulders.

As he looks up at her face, the glow of her skin was angelic. The shadows of the hoodie cover the mark on her face and for a moment, they both felt like the damage didn't happen. His hands reach out to her chest and he lays them on her heart as he continues to bathe her labia in kisses. She takes another long drag from her cigarette as she looks down on him and pats his head.

"Good boy, don't stop."
