The revelation (5)

"How do you know about this?", Lily was shocked that this matter was known to Lila.

"It's not too hard to dig these up.", Lila answered leisurely, not too bothered with Lily's shocked face.

"So, are you going to answer my question now? Huh? Tell me, Twin sis, what has your dad got to do with all of these?" Lila questioned before Lily could say anything, looking at her polished nails like they were treasures worth her attention.

Lily looked a bit nervous, or was it fear? No one knows. But she trembled before she squeaked out, "Dad was previously engaged with the Invisibles and now he is affiliated to the Mercury."

Everyone was shocked at the revelation. Lily continued, "He did something he shouldn't while he was with the Invisibles. Then, he ran away and sought the help of the Mercury. I don't know the exact details of the deal, but they wanted something precious related to the Atkins family."

Sophie gasped at Lily's declaration. She knew something was fishy, but never knew that it was related to the Invisible." Sophie sighed and thought, 'This is going to be tough.' She silently looked at Robert's calm face and thought again, 'Did he know this beforehand?' She looked at Oliver and saw that his face was contorted into a scowl.

She didn't mind them anymore, and fixed her eyes on Lily. Who knows whether that crazy woman will plan something again! She did not want Lila to get hurt. She had her own reasons to protect her. As Sophie was thinking of these things, Lily threw the glass towards Lila, which almost hurt her. If not for her extremely swift movement earlier, she might have been heavily hurt.

Lila looked at Lily, her eyes burning with some unknown emotion. Was it hurt? Was it anger? Was it revenge? Or, was it a mixture of both? Lily was never able to find out. Lila came forward and grabbed Lily's with her slender fingers. Gripping her chin tightly, she looked at Lily in her eyes, asking, "So, you thought that you were trained by the Mercury, so you could hurt me, Twin sis?" Lila laughed out loud. Her laughter echoed inside the chamber. It was so chilly, that she felt shivers down her spine.

Lily was not sure why she felt her twin sister so foreign. It was as if, she had changed a lot. The girl whom she used to bully was nowhere to be seen. Instead, the woman in front of her was someone, whom she couldn't bully anymore. Lily was always jealous of Lila. Although they had the same faces, their personalities were different. Lila was very kind, and had a charming personality. So, she badmouthed her in front of everyone. She framed her. She schemed against her. She almost made her lose her own life in the hands of her own lover. So what? She would never admit that. The wheels were turning again in Lily's brain, which Lila failed to notice. But Sophie was no foreign to those eyes. She had seen her relatives scheming against her. She had seen numerous people scheme. She could easily understand what Lily was thinking. She turned on the microphone in the control room and simply said, "Don't ever think of that! Even if she forgives you, I won't. Don't forget I'm still here."

Both the twins were stunned at Sophie's voice. Lila was the first to recover from it. Lila looked at Lily and narrowed her eyes saying, "So, you wanted to scheme against me? Again? Why? From the childhood, you were the one who had more attention than me. But you never spared me. You schemed against me. You made my own parents kick me out of my house. Why? Why did you do all of these? Tell me, Twin sis. Same blood flows through our veins. Why did you not spare me? Tell me. I want to know. Tell me." Lila's voice cracked at the end. She could not hold the bottled emotions inside her anymore. She vented out her years of grievance.
