"She collaborated with Andrew Johnson." Lila was not surprised at the revelation. She already knew this, but not before being shot. If she had known...
She was lost in thoughts when she woke up by Sophie's next sentence. "You father, Mr. Atkins, knew this too."
"Noooo… It can't be." Even Robert was surprised.
"Sophie, I think you have got it wrong. My father can't do this to him. He loves my brother the most."
"He did, my boy." For the first time this evening, Old Man Atkins opened his mouth, "Although, he loved both of you. Or maybe, I can't say that was love." He paused for a while, and with an emotional voice continued, "He knew that you mother separated you and Sophie, and did nothing. Even when your mother separated Oliver and Lila, he knew. He knew each and everything. He separated your grandma and me upon her insistence. Maybe he is brainwashed, maybe there is something else, which we don't know." The old man rubbed the corner of his eye, and paused.
Only Robert knew the reason of the separation between his grandpa and grandma. Oliver did not know the reason. He was very angry, but he knew that there was more to the story than it was revealed. He asked, "Why would Andrew help her?"
"She helped Andrew, not the other way round."
"What do you mean?"
"She separated me and Andrew, thus helping him. She separated both of you."
"I don't know what grudge he has, but he might have some grudge."
"You showed those photos that day!"
"Did you realise that today?"
"Anyway, get to the main point. Since you showed them, they must have known that it was you."
"Sure."
"What will happen now?"
"It was just a gentle reminder for them. The play is yet to start. Why are you jumping and panicking?"
"But…."
"There are no buts."
"Okay. One question."
"Shoot."
"Why did you reveal those photos but not yourself?"
"Who said that I did not reveal myself?", she chuckled.
"Huh?"
Sophie smiled, but did not answer. She looked at the others. Everyone was busy thinking. The series of events did shock them a bit, especially the Grandpas were shaken. They were angry with Sophie for pulling that stunt. With great difficulty did she manage to appease and convince them.
Robert kindly explained Oliver that when she attended the party, she revealed herself. That is to say, once she entered the party, she was recorded on camera, and they could easily find out her identity. So, he made sure to stir as much trouble as he could for them.
"So, creating trouble for them was your plan through and through?"
"Yes." Sophie answered almost immediately.
"Why?"
"Diverting attention." She answered with only two words.
Old Man Atkins turned to Old Man Tan and said, "Thanks for those words you said to my grandson that day."
"No problem, we are friends after all."
"Lila, tell me the truth, why did you marry my brother?" Oliver asked with great indignation.
"It was all her plan." Lila replied pointing at Sophie.
When Oliver looked at Sophie, she did not reply immediately but rather said, "Let's go to the basement. You will find all your answers there."
"Lily?", he asked.
"You'll see once you get there."
They soon headed to the basement and saw Lily was chained to a chair through the screen. One side of her face was swollen.
Robert chuckled and lifted one of his eyebrows in askance. Sophie gave a wicked smile, saying slowly, "Oh! She was misbehaving." She giggled, and Lily woke up with a start.
"Oh, you are nothing like her, Lila.", Sophie commented.
Lila smiled sadly.
"Wanna interrogate your twin first?"
Lila nodded.
