"I brought her back to the headquarters and had a brilliant doctor operate on her." With a pause, and with great difficulty she said, "The operation was successful, but she had lost lots of blood, and I did not have the courage to take her to the hospital. I called upon as many contacts as I could for blood. But none of them had it. I did not get it from the blood bank."
Everyone waited with bated breaths for her to continue. A teardrop escaped her eyes. Even Oliver did not force her to continue. They waited patiently.
Even after a long time, Sophie did not speak. Tears fell from her eyes non-stop. Suddenly William said, "And then?" He understood that something must have happened, otherwise, Sophie wouldn't react like this.
"We donated our bloods."
"We?"
"Yes, we."
"I don't understand.", Oliver said.
"The doctor and I donated our bloods. She had heavy blood loss and we were the only match at that time."
"And?"
"He fell into coma saving her."
Lila was sad after hearing that the doctor who saved her was in coma. Now, she came to know why Sophie asked her never to betray her. It was because of the doctor. When she woke up, she found out that Sophie was a bit depressed over something, but when she would ask her, she would avoid the topic. In order not to hurt her, she stopped asking about it.
"Where is he?"
"Still in coma."
"WHAT?" Everyone was shocked, "He is in coma for seven years!"
"Yes." Sophie sobbed. No one except C knew about this young man. She was closest to him. No one knew his name, where he came from, what is his relation with her. She kept him safe from the prying eyes. Even now, she is keeping him safe. C was not completely sure about that, but he could guess a bit. He looked at her with profoundness in his gaze, but Sophie was oblivious to that.
William understood the suspicious part in the story, "How did he fall into coma?"
"He operated on her after donating the blood. His body was at extreme limit. Once he saved her, he fainted. I called other doctors, but by the time they ended there, he was in coma. I panicked. I couldn't do anything. You know, it's hard for me to narrate this."
William did not expose her, but he knew that there were things that she was hiding.
Oliver, who was sitting quietly, listening to her with full attention, opened his mouth to ask, "You said that you were coming to inform something to me. What were you going to inform me?"
She got a control on herself and then answered, "I was going to tell you about your mother."
"My mother?"
"Yes."
"What about her?"
"She framed Lila."
"Why would she do that?" This time it was Lila, who asked. "There is no motive for her to do it. She did not even know about 'us'."
"She did."
"What?"
"She knew about you. Both of you. She knew."
"How?"
"Andrew Johnson."
"What do you mean?" Oliver asked. Although, in his mind, he knew the answer.
Sophie looked at him, but immediately did not answer.
