SOMETHING'S WRONG

Amari raised her head from the scroll to look at the elders. Did people really not know about witches? Well, she had not known witches existed until the night of her birthday. Moreso, she could recall the burglary case and how it had been sorted out. No one was talking about it anymore. Everyone thought it had been a prank.

It was clear that the circle maintaining balance had been doing a good job so far. Both the ones from centuries past, to the elders before them. Would her circle be able to perform as well as them? Amari could only hope.

"How long have witches existed?" Amari asked, her gaze fixated on Kara.

"Witches have always existed. Adam's wife was a witch," it was Kara who gave a response.

"Eve was a witch?" Amari asked, knitting her eyebrows in confusion. She had read all kinds of books, even the bible but there had been no record whatsoever of Adam's wife eve being a witch.

"Not Eve, Lilith," Stephanie replied this time, a hint of irritation in her voice.
