HER SON

{NOTE! ~THIS IS A STANDALONE SEQUEL OF 'HER BLOOD'} In a world where immortality reigns, life knows no end. However, immortals are divided into two categories: the strong and the weak. The weak can be easily killed, often possessing vulnerabilities that make them susceptible to the superior immortals. * Tragedy strikes when my father, a weak immortal with a fated weakness, is killed by a man I once revered. This man, who cannot be vanquished, has also passed down his trait to me through my mother. I hold both my mother and this man accountable for my father's demise and all the ensuing events. Even though my mother sent the man into hiding to atone for the pain caused, I am certain that he will return. Only this time, it will be different. He will come back to complete what he started, to seek vengeance and forcefully take back what belonged to him. ***

7. HURT 2

Shattered pieces of glassware spread everywhere on the floor. The white wall was imprinted with deep wide holes caused by his fists.

     Selene why?! WHY!

Of all people, why does it have to be my step brother?...you're so cruel you know! Doing whatever you like because it feels right to you.

Do you know how hurt and heartbroken one feels? No you don't, you don't even care about what I feel...FUCK YOU SELENE!!!

You don't deserve to even be a goddess to us!

Rage was the word that defined Reginald's emotion, he couldn't accept it. He was in love with Amelia and he fell deep.

Reginald chuckled darkly, he was seated lazily on a wide couch with a tumbler of red wine in it.

At least he got one useless habit from the devil, he loved red wine so much.

Reginald watched the high ceiling in silence, he had locked himself up in a room. He didn't want anyone disturbing him so he guarded the place with dark magic.

Nevertheless, an image flashed before his eyes. It was an image of very angry golden eyes glaring at him with deadly anger.

      'I'll be back!'

A light whisper brushed past his ears like a breeze. Reginald was used to this, he always had torturous nightmares of that man.

When he was little, whenever he had a nightmare his mother would always be there to ease it but she left to handle other pressing matters, leaving him behind, in the care of Beta Connery and Angelina's care.

     'Reginald.'

Someone's voice filled his head, calling him but Reginald didn't answer. He wasn't ready to answer that man, the heartless man who killed his father without batting an eyelid.

He gulped down the remaining content from the tumbler. When he was done, he flung the glass cup out of his hand and it collided with the wall, shattering into many pieces.

He ran his fingers through his long hair and tugged at it harshly.

      'Oh Reginald.'

Reginald let out a deep grunt, he didn't like the disturbance he was facing.

'Reginald, my son.'

'Reginald!'

'Look how pitiful you look right now.'

'Oh, my son.'

Voices filled his head, disturbing his peace. They were driving him insane.

'I missed how you always call me godfather.'

'SAY IT!'

'CALL ME!'

The voices became stronger and disturbing.

      "REGINALD!!!'

A loud annoyed voice filled his head in anger. Reginald shut his eyes closed and gripped the couch, sinking his sharp claws into them.

Blood oozed out of his ears and nostrils as he felt weak and in pain. He was tired of this pain.

      'CALL ME! REGINALD CALL ME!!!'

The voice thundered harder in his head and he gasped for air as blood sputtered out of his mouth and he spat it out with difficulty.

He was in so much pain and it annoyed him that he couldn't do a thing to stop it...how pathetic.

      'Find me...'

A small feminine voice sounded faint in his head, he frowned when he recognized the melodious call.

      'Find me.'

It repeated the same instruction and something in him came alive. He threw out more blood but the pain was driven away...how come?

      'Find me handsome.'

The feminine voice instructed again and her face appeared in his head, smiling mischievously at him.

      VERNA!

Reginald felt alive again when he recalled their last moment, he felt renewed just by the thought of her...what happened?

How did the pain stop? The pain never stopped unless his mother was there to ease it.

       Did Verna's voice stop it?

He scrambled onto his feet hastily in confusion. His mind was confused.

God, he had to find her.

He dashed out of his room in a hurry. Could his Verna be the cure to his pained and bothered mind. Was she that powerful?

       "Reginald!"

This time, it was his distant aunt, Amelia's mother. He didn't bother answering her, he just kept walking.

       "What's wrong with him?"

Phoebe questioned Angelina who came by at the right time to catch a glimpse of him.

"I don't know," came Angelina's worried reply and she followed him. Reginald felt a presence beside him and he narrowed his eyes at her.

"Stop following me," he warned her.

"Why?" She dared him and a smirk appeared on his lips at her audacity.

" 'Cause I'm your Alpha and when I give orders, you follow." He answered her and Angelina rolled her eyes.

"Are you seriously going over to fight your brother?"

Reginald came to a halt and faced her.

"I'm not that childish, Angelina. Don't underestimate me." He replied nonchalantly and it confused her, he was supposed to still be heartbroken.

       "Are you done sulking?"

"FUCK YOU ANGELINA!" He roared angrily at her and his eye color changed from blue to dark red. Angelina gasped and blinked rapidly but she stood unfazed.

       "You're disturbed Regi..."

He didn't let her finish her sentence, he vanished into thin air and she frowned. She hated it when he did that.

He appeared outside the gates, away from his home. He walked through the thick trees outside the gates, the gatekeepers spotted him but they dared not approach him.

       "Verna, where are you?"

He muttered to himself and transformed into his beastly form and ran at full speed in the forest.

"He's back?! Where is he?"

A man who looked like he was in his early forties, questioned Valeria. It surprised him that no one bothered to inform them until now.

"Calm down father, he just came, let him rest."

Valeria gently told her husband's father, she had a warm enchanting smile on her lips.

"But we want to meet him."

This time it was her husband's mother who complained. They were eager to meet her first son but she knew he wasn't around.

"Sit down please, he's not in the mood to see anyone now."

"And why is that? What happened?" Valeria's husband's father, who went by the name Japheth, questioned with an arched eyebrow.

"Come on father, stop bothering her with all these questions." Everand stepped into the room along with Amelia and Valeria's second son, Aaron.

      "What's wrong mom?"

Aaron couldn't help but ask because he could sense her emotion. She was worried.

Valeria's smile brightened and she went to meet him...God, she loved her boys. They were too much.

'It's your brother, but don't worry he'll be fine.'

She spoke to him telepathically and he frowned but nodded in understanding. Her gaze then fell on Amelia and she held out her hand for her.

Amelia was a bit taken aback by the sudden gesture but she still placed her hand on Valeria's open palm.

Valeria pulled her gently and ushered her to sit on a comfy spacious chair, she also sat beside her.

Aaron wondered what his mother wanted to say to her so he followed them and sat beside Amelia, he couldn't bear to leave her side, not even for a second.

Valeria had a harmless smile while she stared deep into Amelia's eyes.

'How do you feel about Reginald?'

Her voice filled Amelia's head and her body ran cold in surprise, she wondered how Reginald's mother found out. She quickly schooled her features but Aaron noticed how she went rigid.

"What are you doing to her mom?"

Valeria shifted her gaze from Amelia to her son, her smile never left her face.

"Girl to girl talk," she answered and he narrowed his eyes at her. He tried to link into their minds but somehow his mother blocked him out.

Amelia faced Valeria, she smiled brightly so Aaron wouldn't suspect anything.

'I care for him,' she answered Valeria's previous question and Valeria's smile increased. Was she happy? Amelia thought to herself.

'I am happy, but I'm also sad...do you love him?'

Amelia's eyes widened, she totally forgot that their minds were linked so Valeria could hear her thoughts loudly.

'I did...but somehow...I feel different, like all the feelings I had for him just washed away, leaving a tiny bit of affection.' Amelia answered truthfully, she was deeply confused.

'That's what happens when you find your soulmate dear...but he's hurting, it's hard for him.' Amelia's brows lifted and her lips made an 'o' sign. He knew?!

      'Yes, he found out.'

Valeria told her and Amelia's frown deepened but soon it cleared and she nodded.

'There's nothing I can do Luna, we agreed on this a long time ago.' Valeria nodded in understanding and searched Amelia's eyes to see if she could find any mixed feelings.

'Be true to your words Amelia because it would be hard on Aaron if he found out you have feelings for another man...not just any man, but his own brother.'
