The Betrayal 

Nikki's words cut through the air like daggers, her accusation sharp and unforgiving. "She's a characterless woman," she hurled, her tone dripping with venom.

David's response was immediate and fierce. "Stop trying to tarnish her image. It's not good," he defended, his voice firm and unwavering. Despite Nikki's relentless attempts to provoke him, he continued to stand up for Carissa, refusing to let her reputation be smeared.

But David's defense only seemed to fuel Nikki's rage further. She couldn't comprehend why he was defending Carissa so vehemently, especially after he had denied having any feelings for her. The contradiction left her bewildered and frustrated, her anger boiling over.

"Why are you defending her so strongly now?" Nikki demanded bluntly, her voice laced with anger and confusion. "You said you didn't have any feelings for her."
