Sunlight shone through the window, casting a warm glow on Mr Luo, a thin sheet pulled up to his chest. His pale face was beginning to gain some colour.
There was a smile etched on his face as he stared at the bouquet of lilies carefully arranged into a vase by the window.
The cool breeze amplifying the scent of the flowers, drowning out the stench of disinfectants used in cleaning the room.
Just then door burst open with a bang, shattering the serenity. Mrs Luo, dressed in an elegant yet casual dress, rushed in, her phone clutched tightly in her hand.
Her carefully styled hair had a few fringes framing her face.
"Honey! You won't believe what I just found out!" she exclaimed, her voice a touch too loud for the confines of the room. The slam of the door made Mr Luo flinch. A disapproving frown made its way on his face.
"Dear, keep your voice down," he cautioned gently. "We are not the only ones on this floor."
