************

Mei Xing emerged from Feng Houyi's house with a sense of accomplishment mixed with uneasiness. Her steps were hurried as she went down the street, to a corner where a cab was waiting for her.

The neon lights from the shops cast an eerie glow on the deserted sidewalks. Climbing into the backseat, she gave the driver instructions on the next stop before settling back against the worn padding of the car seat.

"Let's go," she ordered, her voice tinged with a bit of urgency.

The cab pulled out from the hidden corner and sped off, weaving through the streets as Mei Xing's thoughts raced ahead to her next destination.

She took out her phone from the purse and skimmed through the pictures she was opportune to take. But she couldn't understand much so she kept it aside.
