Nephew? His nephew? Jake was this man's... Alex's nephew? She mused, and then the realization of what that meant dawned on her like a crashing wave, knocking the breath from her lungs. Her eyes widened as she stared at him, the shock evident on her face. “Your nephew? You’re Alex Sterling, Jake's uncle?” she asked, unable to believe it herself. Alex nodded, his expression unchanged. “Yes. I'm his uncle,” Alex confirmed, and Emma shook her head.

"Oh my God, are you okay?" Emma asked since she had thought the car had went off or something.

"Yes but I need to see who the fool was that wouldn't look where he was driving," she said fuming.

"I know you're upset but you need to calm down. I'm sure whoever it was must have a good explanation for this," Emma said and Claire scoffed.

"He definitely has to have a good explanation for this," Claire said, removing her seatbelt.

Claire stepped out of the car first, her posture stiff with irritation. Emma hesitated, still shaken from the impact, but eventually followed.

"I wonder what he was thinking hitting us. Was he blind or something?" Claire asked irritably.

As they approached the other car, Emma squinted at the man stepping out of the driver's seat, his tall frame and confident stride triggering a flicker of recognition.

"Great," Claire muttered under her breath. "People really need to learn how to drive."
