Dreaming

I took a step forward and hear a crunch beneath my sandals. I lifted my other foot and took another step. The same crunch echoed through the cave. I trudged along the walls which were filled with spikes. I kept walking until I saw a flowing red liquid. I marched towards, curious about it's nature. As I got closer, the air got more tense and it became harder to breathe. Smoke started to arise from it and so I retreated. I went across the cave and trudged along with the walls. The red liquid lit up the dark cave. I then came to a stop. A strange painting sat on the wall. A creature was drawn on fighting humans. I stared at it until I got bored and started trudging through the cave again. Suddenly, I heard a crackling sound echoing through the cave. The red liquid came running. As it lit the area, I made out a hunched figure. It had a triangle under so I assumed it had a beak. I however did not fear thought it was stacked rocks and continued going until the same crackling sound echoed around the cave. I caught glimpse of the creature and froze. Those weren't rocks. I went on and took a step forward. A branch pierced the curling and drilled a hole an inch from the tip of my nose. I gulped and pondered wether I should obey master or retreat. I decided to pick the first and stepped forward resting my foot for a few seconds to test the waters. Nothing happened. I let out a sigh of relief and stepped forwards a was greeted by a bush. I peered through the cracks. The sun burned bright as my eyes adjusted to the light. Strange fiends walked around staring at the sky. I didn't dare move a muscle as I feared death and so did I fear the emperor. Night fell upon the world as the sun god left and I still hadn't moved. The creatures didn't move as much as the day and instead cracked their necks. I observed them and slowly turned back and sprinted down the cave and out to the open. I took a deep breath and marched forwards. I set up a tent and slept. The next day, I marched until I returned after 3 days. I was confronted by guards and escorted to Masters villa. I walked through the corridors proud of my discovery. I opened the door with a wide grin. He smiled in anticipation. "Master I found remnants of the kingdom of Hades" I said staring at him as his expression dampened. He grinded his teeth in rage. "I asked you for information on Thebes not this blasphemy, guards!" he screamed. I was dragged out by the guards. "Have him executed by tomorrow". It couldn't be. I'd gotten my hopes up for this and now I'm being executed. No no it couldn't be . I must be dreaming.
