Beginning of the End

The year is three thousand and twenty. Due to a global pandemic the world was decimated. People were desperate for a cure so they took an experimental vaccine. The vaccine had an unusual side effect thought. It manifested into strange abilities in some while it mutated others into grotesque creatures. One main ability that manifested was longevity. The world soon separated between two factions. One was the superheroes while the others were villain's.  The two notable in the factions was The Iron Drake and The Dark Goddess. Iron Drake being the wall of justice and Dark Goddess being the harbinger of darkness.

Though courtesy of Dark Goddess' powers of misfortune the once bustling republic of power in Missouri fell. The state later was renamed to The Rift due to the villians and the misfortune that was abundant here. Iron Drake was the last hero in the city fighting the villains to no end. Most of the other heroes abandoned the city or lost their abilities. The Dark Goddess ruled from her Fortress of Darkness. She keeps trophies of heroes she has defeated in battle. While Drake fought crime from his Iron Fortress of Justice.

To the surprise of Goddess her greatest trophy was immune to her powers of misfortune. So she devised a plan to find his weakness at all cost. The endless battle was about to come to a close soon. It was on christmas eve when they faced off for the final time. Though the hero was acting strange during the bout with her she nonetheless noted it. She was about to win but for some reason fled from battle. Drake returned to his fortress of justice puzzled by her actions. He was having a feeling that she noticed how weak he was this time around. Upon removing his iron mantle he saw the rift poison had reached his heart. 

With this fear he kept researching the virus-s vaccine his company had made. He feared that what ever was used had caused cell disruption. The iron drake had made a remedy to slow it down but it was slowly adapting to it. He feared that if he didn't find a cure he would surely die and the world would be doomed. The one thing goddess would benefit from. The following day drake flew up out of bed due to a nightmare of his past. The Iron Drake vanished from the world three months later. The Dark Goddess believed that she had fatally wounded him thus claiming her sword as proof she defeated the Iron Drake.

On the contrary Drake had accidently created a super vaccine that had actually forced him to mutate further. The mutation had inadvertently super charged a dormant power of his. The dormant power actually forced Drake to travel back through time. Due to his altered state he was unrecognizable to everyone he pasted. He found out later that it was the year twenty nine forty. It was the beginning of the virus-s outbreak. The outbreak happened on christmas day that year. This is the day Zane Nexus aka Iron Drake lost his family. With his immunity to the virus Drake set out to find Amelia Rogue the creator of the vaccine. 

He couldn't just show up at her lab and say he's a superhero from the future without being called insane. No he elected to go to the cave below his families mansion and hope the super computer was still there like he remembered. There he would track down his past self Zane Nexus. Zane also happened to be the ceo of the worlds biggest pharmacy. He was also very interested in doctor Amelia Rogue's vaccine research. It still lays heavy on his mind that he couldn't save his wife Rose alongside his twin daughters Alexis and Ivy. Months later Drake tracked them down and interfered with the vaccine research. He snuck into the lab one day and uploaded all the information they would need. He may regret what happened next but he would at least have peace of mind about not having Dark Goddess running free.

Only time will tell if he made the right choice. As for Zane he was continuously trying to convince Amelia to partner with him. He offered a proper facility and money to produce alongside test her vaccine. It took several months of mixing and refining to get ten vaccines made up. The first vaccine named Foam was a failure for it cause the test subject to revert to a primal state of mind. Doctor Amelia lost hope when she saw what it did to the patient. Zane told her to "never give up, never quit" Amelia respond "look what i have done to this poor man he is nothing but an animal again." 

Zane just laughed and mumbled soon this cure will save humanity. The following day they tested the second vaccine. Unfortunately this one again had a bad side effect it caused amnesia in the patient. So they named it The Cleaner for it wiped memories when used. Over the span of five months they tried one vaccine after another each ending in failure. It came time to administer the final vaccine their last hope to save humanity. The tenth vaccine was given to a young female named Jade Sutton. Her case was a serious one for she was close to death when she volunteered for the vaccine trial. 

  Zane and Amelia's fear came when they administered the vaccine to Jade for she flatlined immediately after. They were saddened by this outcome and decided they would never save the human race. So they went to sleep and hoped a new day would bring new hope. Upon entering the lab in the morning Zane was greeted to Jade walking around looking at stuff. When she saw Zane she fled back to the room she awoke in. Zane followed after to make sure he wasn't seeing things. He then approached her slowly and said "Jade are you okay and what do you remember from last night?" Jade replied "I remember nothing from the nights prior." Zane sighed then proceeded to escort Jade to a medical room for examination. If only zane knew that later on in the years she would be the cause of all the misfortune in Missouri he would have never helped her. Drake planned to steal the vaccine so he could make a new super variant in the future. So when night fell and they had all went to sleep from the exhausting physical test for jade. Drake snuck inside the lab and grabbed the vaccine known as superhero.

Thus his plan was in motion he acquired the vaccine and hid it in the family crypt. He just hoped by the time he returned to the future he would be able to get it. Shortly after drake had hidden the vaccine he saw on the horizon a huge explosion right where the lab was. A sharp headache struck him and he remembered that it ending up being the day Jade escaped and doctor Amelia alongside Him got caught up in the vaccine mixture. Thus without his control his time shifting abilities activated and he was back in the year three thousand twenty. So dawning his Iron Mantle he set out to his family crypt to retrieve the case of vaccines. The next few weeks after retrieving the vaccines he spent his days analyzing and enhancing it to help his fellow heroes.
