Chapter 10

"My morning is bright, the sun is shining, I carry my red bag on my shoulder..."

This is a lyric from a children's song that was quite popular in the past, a song that was successful in its past.. Now is not the time to sing or hum, now is Rio's time to go to school.

Breakfast was served on the table, Rio's favorite food had been prepared by his adoptive mother, Ranya.

"Before you go, don't forget to have breakfast first, honey, so you don't go limp at school."

Ranya said thus, while walking carrying a glass of warm milk to the dining table.

Meanwhile, Rio had sat down and was ready to eat the breakfast that his mother had served him.

"Here's your milk!"

Ranya placed it right beside Rio's plate.

"Thank you, Mom," said Rio with a smile.

Rio has such a sweet smile, even for a glass of milk Ranya doesn't add sugar in it, for fear that the sweetness of the milk will be absorbed by Rio's smile.

"You're welcome, dear. Fine, dear. Hurry up and finish your breakfast, then drink your milk, and go to school! You'll be late."

Ranya touched both of Rio's shoulders, as he walked away from Rio.

"Okay ma'am."

Rio finished his breakfast as soon as possible, slowly with certainty every grain of rice that had been served was used up. Rio also didn't forget to drink his warm milk.

Mother always said, "Drinking milk in the morning is good for your growth. So drink milk and you will grow up fast."

Ranya always said that in the past, and made Rio regularly drink white or chocolate milk in the morning.

"Mom I'm done!"

Rio shouted at Ranya who was in the kitchen room.

"I'll go first, ma'am."

He started to get up from his chair, pulling the gray backpack that was leaning beside his chair earlier. He straightened his clothes for a moment, then shouted back.

"Mother. I'll go first!"

Ranya who was behind the room there came quickly without anything in her hand, only her clothes were quite dirty full of flour and clothes dye.

"Okay dear. Be careful on the road," he prayed.

He walked hastily while patting his clothes which were full of flour.

"Did Mom, finished making cakes for me as usual?" Rio asked.

"Sure, honey, but how do you know when Mom's finished baking?" Ranya turns to ask.

"Of course I know, because mother's clothes are dirty as usual," she smiled as she looked at Ranya's never-old beauty.

Thanks to her Son's words, Ranya realized that this was already commonplace. So why did he ask again.

He returned a smile from Rio with just a smile and said, "Hurry up and go! You'll be late. Your favorite cake will be ready waiting for your return."

Ranya caresses him. He made the surface of Rio's cheeks look dirty white, due to his palms that were still covered in flour.

"Oops. I'm sorry Mom."

His guilt when he saw the flour smear his Son's face for so much.

It's really nothing new for Rio, when his mother's dirty hand touched his cheek.

"It's okay, Mom. I can clean it like this."

Rio wiped it gently. Letting his fingers blot out the stain.

"How?"

While smiling he made Ranya feel hard to let her son go to school.

"Never mind. Go quickly! If you're still here Mom won't be able to finish Mom's work… Besides, if you don't hurry up you'll be late!"

The excitement is not to expel Rio, it's just that he doesn't want to stare at Rio for long because it will make him forget himself. If that happens, Rio probably won't be going to school.

"All right, ma'am. I'm leaving now."

Saying goodbye, Rio started to walk, "I'm going, Mom."

He started walking, "See you later, ma'am."

Don't forget to wave your hand when you leave this room.

"Be careful on the way, dear."

Prayers of salvation accompany Rio on the road. Ranya also waved her hand, when Rio who had already disappeared from sight. The boy opened the door and actually left this house.

No need to cry or regret. Rio didn't go to leave this world forever, but he only left for a moment and will come back again.

He left this house for nothing but to study, and would not be far from it.

So Ranya didn't need to be sad because Rio wasn't home, "I will resume my work now. Before my son comes back, I have to finish everything and the Cake must be finished."

And Ranya is back on her housework. Like a mother in general, Ranya's job is to tidy up the house and make lunch for Rio later. Because that's a mother's job, right?

Ranya returned to the kitchen, and continued what had been delayed.
