25. A DATE WITH JUSTIN

After he ended the call with Ray, He had a beep on his phone. A mail from Clara containing the files he was asked to review by Raymond.

He checked through it, printed it out to have extra copies, and be easy for him to access without using his phone. He sent the summarized files to Ray and messaged him to check his mail.

"Bro I have sent the summarized version of the file to your mall."

"Thanks, brother."

In the evening, he prepared to leave the company early because of his date with Yvonne.

Calling through the intercom, "Lizzy in my office now."

She knocked and entered a few seconds after the call, "Sir."

"Huh... I am leaving the office now so any files coming into this company should be sent to my mail immediately and also you should have your copy of it. Clear?"

"Yes Sir." She nodded and left his office.

Not too long, he locked his door, gave his office keys to Lizzy, and left. He entered his car and drive off to Mond Enterprises, on getting there he parked his car in the driveway and looked around for any familiar face but saw non. He called Yvonne up.

"Good afternoon." She picked immediately as if she had been waiting for his call.

"Princess, have you been waiting for my call?" Saying teasingly at her.

Trying to sound bold, "Waiting? Why would I?" She dropped down the phone to breathe, trying to stop her racing heart.

"... me... Hello... Princess are you there?" Panicking, he came out of his car.

"Am okay Justin. You called for?"

"For what princess. Can't I call my princess again?" He whined

dramatically on the phone.

"Ahhh, Justin. I meant your reason for calling." She sighed.

"Oh... Am in front of your workplace. Are you done with your work for today?"

"Yes, since 20 minutes ago. Am coming down right now." The call ended.

She arranged her table, carried her bag, and came out of the office.

She waved at Clara, "Bye Clara."

"Bye Yvonne." She raised her head from what she was doing to wave back at her.

She entered the elevator, signed out at the receptionist's table before leaving the company. She looked around in search of Justin's car.

Justin sighted her first and waved to get her attention. She smiled and came to his car. He rushed to the passenger seat door to open it for her.

She entered, "Thanks." He closed the door and went back to the driver's seat.

"Hey princess." He greeted her as she fixed her seatbelt before he drove out of the driveway.

She looked at him, "Justin. How was work?"

"All good babe." He glanced at her and saw her blushing.

"You closed earlier than normal."

"Oh... Yea. Not much work today." She nodded. "Okay."

He noticed she signed and rubbed her forehead, "Are you tired or exhausted?"

"Yes and no."

"Oh, we could move the date to another day or even during the weekend." Glancing at her.

"No. Tonight is fine with me."

Looking worried, "You look kind of dull."

"Am okay." She smiled.

"Thanks." He breathes out in relief. "How was work today?"

"Annoying. I couldn't even see my boss before he left, all because of..."

He looked at her then back to the road, "Who princess?"

Ignoring his question, "Who's Naria to you?"

"A friend." He said uneasily.

"I guess she likes you. Everything is about you, every time she's always talking about you."

Looks at her expressionless, "You would advise me to go after her?"

"What's wrong with that? You can take my advice if you want." She smiled at him.

Justin smiled a bit at her, "Princess Adviser."

"I don't like her in that manner. I like someone else princess." He parked the car in front of her gate.

She turned to the car window to hide her disappointment and jealously from him, "I have to go get ready."

"Okay, princess." He watched her till she entered before he drive off.

She meets Jude in the sitting room, watching TV. "Good evening dad." He nodded at her greeting.

"Evening dear. How was work?"

"It's okay. Yours?"

"Good." He smiled at her.

"Where are Mom and Cammy?"

"Cammy is upstairs in her room, doing her assignment while Mary went to get some groceries across the road."

"Okay."

She went upstairs to Cammy's room first, "Hey baby." Opened the door and meet Cammy at her reading table.

Cammy rushed toward her sister to hug her before she could step into the room.

"How was school?" Yvonne asked, raising Cammy into her arms.

"It was fun, Vonny." She smiled widely at her sister.

"What were you doing?"

"My homework." Cammy pointed at her books on the table.

"Okay. Go and complete them." Yvonne dropped her down and pecked her forehead. Cammy went back to her reading table while Yvonne went to her room.

She dropped her bag and removed her clothes, took a bath, and FaceTimed Ria. She picked after 3 rings, "Hey babe."

"Ria, the date is tonight." Yvonne sounded nervous

"Oh... When?"

"7 pm."

Ria looked back at her wall clock, "And this is 5:30 pm. You have just 1 hour 30 minutes to prepare. Am coming over."

"Okay." She breathed in and out.

An hour later, Ria was already in her room, she was true with Yvonne's makeup. Yvonne went to her bathroom to put on her dress.

"Yvonne, you don't have all day."

"Am coming out now."

Yvonne came out, with the dress. "How do I look?"

"You look superb. He won't be able to take his eyes off you." Ria said winking at her, making Yvonne blush hard.

"Ria..." Yvonne's phone rang out, A call from Justin.

"Hello princess. Am at the gate."

"Okay. Am coming." The call ended.

Ria gave her a black shining handbag, "Use this. I would go with your shoes."

"Thanks, Ria." Yvonne hugged her with tears in her eyes.

"Babe, the only problem you would have before going is if your tears venture drops and my hard work," She pointed at Yvonne's face, "Go to waste, you won't hear the end of it."

Yvonne dabbed at her face dramatically making Ria shake her head at her negatively.

As if she was just remembering, "Justin." She rushed out of the room with Ria, laughing behind her.

"Dad, Mom... I'm going out on a date with Justin."

Jude nodded, "He is not a bad guy."

She looked toward her mom, "I hope you know what you are doing. Where is he?"

"Outside. Bye." She rushed out of the house. She met Justin in front of his car and went toward him.

Justin was putting on a black suit and trousers with a blue shirt tucked into his suit trousers as if he knew the color of her clothes.

"We are matching." He said trying to remove the awkward silence.

"Yes." She laughed nervously.

He got closer to her, moved some strands of hair that were covering her eyes, and bent toward her. Her eyes closed on their own, he pecked her forehead, both cheeks, and brushed his lips on hers.

She gasped and opened her eyes in shock, knowing he had done it on purpose, unlike the other day.

"You look beautiful." He whispered into her ear.

"Th... Thanks... You don't look bad yourself." She shuddered, breathing heavily. He smirked, impressed at the effect he had on her.

"Let's get going." He pointed at his car which she nodded at. He helped her into the car before entering and drove off.

They both got down from his car, Justin handed his keys to a valet and they went into the restaurant.

Mond Reservations was boldly written on the building.

Looking at the restaurant then at her clothes, Yvonne said a prayer and a thank you, in her mind, to Ria for bringing the idea of shopping for a new dress.

Non of her dress in her closet would make her look this fit for the restaurant they came to, except her past clothes and she did not want to touch them.

A waiter came to them immediately they entered, "How may I help you?"

"A reservation under the name Quinn."

"Oh... Sir follow me." They followed the waiter to their table.

Justin moved a chair for Yvonne to seat on, "Thank you." She smiled at him. He smiled and took his seat.

"What can I get for you, Sir, Ma'am?"

Justin looked at Yvonne, "Princess what would you like?"

"All the meals on the menu are expensive." She whispered, looking at the menu then back to Justin.

Justin smirked at Yvonne and looked at the waiter, "We want all the dishes on the third page..."

"Will be right back." The waiter bowed slightly and left.

Yvonne looked at him, stunned at what he requested, "Justin, who will eat all those dishes and they are expensive."

"Princess I saw it. We are both eating so..."

"You are something else." Yvonne scoffed.

He winked at her, "You love me like that, Justina Baby." Making her blush harder.

The waiter brought the dishes, arranged them on the table, and took back the trolley. They ate from each of the dishes, they ate till they couldn't eat anymore.

Justin called back the waiter and ordered dessert. Yvonne tried stopping him but he turned deaf ears to her. The waiter packed their plates and dropped the dessert they ordered for.

"You shouldn't waste money on unnecessary things, Justin."

"What are the unnecessary things you mean?"

She pointed at the leftovers on the table, "These are. All the food we ate is not up to the ones remaining."

"I'm not complaining Justina." He winked at her while she looked away shyly.

Yvonne noticed Justin wasn't saying anything and looked up at him, he was looking at her intensely.

She waved her hand in front of his face, "Justin! Justin!! Justin!!!"

He blinked, "Yea baby."

She gulped and blushed, "Huh..."

He smiled and moved closer, taking her hand into his, "Yes baby."

Avoiding eye contact with him, "You are calling me baby not a princess like you use to."

"You don't like it?"

"No... Yes... I mean..." Biting down on her lower lip.

He held her other hand from across the table, "I like you, Yvonne."

Yvonne noticed it was the first time, he used her name and not princess or Justina like he used to. She believed what he said.

"I would be honored If you would be my girlfriend." He looked serious.

"Huh... I... I l..i...k..." She stammered unsure of what to say.

He placed his finger on her lips to stop her from talking, "I want you to think about it please."

She nodded, looking at their hands on the table, "Okay."

Soon, they left the restaurant and went home. Justin took her home, kissed her fully on her lips as a good night greeting, and left for his house.
