19. TWO DIFFERENT DATES

The next morning, Yvonne quickly prepared breakfast, took them to the dining and also packed Cammy's lunch into her lunch bag before waking everyone up for the day.

After breakfast, Yvonne took Cammy to school. She went to her Mom's eatery to start their business for the day.

Yvonne noticed customers came more that morning than the other days so she cooked more food. Mary didn't come to the eatery cos she called and complained of being sick.

Yvonne checked her phone for any call or text message from Justin but saw non. She thought of calling but kicked against it since she had things to do and she doesn't have any reason for calling.

2 hours later, the customers reduced so she had time to call. He picked up after 3 rings.

"Hello and morning my wonderful princess." He sounded excited.

"Morning."

He shouted in false pain, "My heart."

Sounding worried, "What's wrong?"

"I am hurt, princess."

Yvonne was confused, "What's wrong?"

"My heart just got broken."

"Who's she? How could she do that?" She tried to talk normally so he won't suspect she was jealous.

"Princess I would tell you even if you don't ask... I called up a pretty girl, greeted her lovingly but she replied plainly to me."

"Justin I still don't understand."

"I will enlighten you. You called me, I answered and greeted you with, "Hello and morning my wonderful princess." But you replied with a plain "Morning". Is that good?"

Shakes her head as she realized what happened, "Oh... Sor..."

"Do you want me to shed tears?" Whining.

"Sorry, my baby."

Justin looked at his phone dreamily, "WOW she called me her baby."

She laughed, "You are funny."

"Huh, princess... Wanna go on a date?"

"Huh... Da... Date?"

"Yea... With me." He waited for a reply but no answer, "Please princess."

Yvonne laughs, "I would love to."

"Thanks, princess."

She smiles, "You are welcome." She ended the call.

After hanging up, She thought of the dress to wear, make up and other things she would need, "Ahhh God."

Yvonne thought to herself, "I should go with a gown... Oh God, It's been a long I went on a date. I will ask for Ria's help." She gasped remembering he didn't tell her the day for the date.

Yvonne stayed till evening, locked the windows and doors, closed the eatery, and left for home.

She called up Ria to ask for her help but she didn't pick up. She received a message from her saying, she was still at work and busy.

Yvonne stopped a taxi and entered when Justin's message came in.

Talking to the taxi driver, "Beach road."

He sent, "Hello princess."

"Hey, evening Justin." Replied him

"Sorry... I didn't tell you about the day for the date."

"Oh... I didn't remember to ask." She said, not wanting to sound desperate.

"Let's make it the day after tomorrow. Are you busy?"

"It's okay with me. Am not busy."

With a smiley sticker, "Goodnight princess."

"Night Prince."

"Better babe." He ended it with a kissing sticker.

She got out of the taxi, paid the man and went inside the house. She meets Jude, her mom, and Cammy in the dining room.

She greeted them and joined them for dinner at the dining while they were eating, Jude brought up a conversation.

He called, "Yvonne." She looked up.

"Yes..."

"How's work?? I mean at the eatery."

"It's good. Thanks for asking."

Jude smiled, "You are welcome, sweetheart."

"How is your work too?"

"All good and I have good news."

Everyone looked up at him attentively, "Which is?" Mary asked.

"I met an old friend of mine who owns a constructive company, we discussed at length and he gave me a job. I am starting on Monday."

"What did you study?" Yvonne asked.

"I studied engineering but couldn't secure a job in that field so I had to join the force."

"Your current job?" Mary asked.

"I have retired from the police force."

Mary and Cammy jumped excitedly, "Wow that's great honey." She squeezed his hand.

Jude squeezed her hand back and gave her a peck on the cheek.

Cammy hugged him, "Congrats dad."

"Congrats, dad..." Her eyes went as wide as a saucer, she gasped.

Jude looked surprised, "Huh Yvonne you said something?"

Yvonne shook her head negatively than positively and negatively, She couldn't believe she said that.

Mary touched Yvonne's hand softly, "Thanks." With gratitude in her eyes.

Yvonne looked at Jude, "You and my mom got married... I wasn't used to another dad, only one who had my back from childhood till adulthood and he left me just like that when I least expected it... It was a lot to take in so..." She broke down there at the dining.

Her mom patted her back to calm her down while Jude came over, held her up, and hugged her.

"I understand Yvonne. I do." Mary and Cammy joined the hug, turning it into a family hug.

Yvonne looked up at Jude and all she could see was the love and honesty in his eyes

After eating, Yvonne and Cammy tidied up the plates and kitchen while Jude and Mary stayed in the sitting room watching TV.

They said good night and went to their room to retire for the day.

Jude couldn't contain his happiness, he hugged Yvonne and gave her a good night kiss on her forehead, did the same to Cammy before going to his room. Cammy and Yvonne said good night to each other.

Yvonne showered and got on the bed. She took her phone, power on it and saw a message from Samz, sent 5 minutes ago. "Girlfriend."

She replied immediately, "Evening boyfriend."

"How was your day?"

"Busy and fun. How was yours?"

"Good." He waited for a minute before texting, "Are you busy tomorrow?"

"Huh... Apart from helping my mom at the eatery tomorrow. No, am not."

"I wanna invite you to the cinema for movies around 2 pm tomorrow."

"Invite?"

"Fine, a date I mean." With a shy sticker.

Sent with a laughing sticker, "Samz is now shy because of a date."

"Kind of a date... I have two tickets with me so I thought of someone to go with and your thought came to my mind."

"Aww... That's cute."

"Still want to go now that you know the truth?" She wanted to reply when another came in, "If you don't want to go, am okay with it."

"Samz, I would love to go with you."

He sent with a blushing sticker, "Thanks a lot girlfriend. Good night."

"You welcome boyfriend. Night."

Yvonne kept her phone on the nightstand, covered herself with the duvet, and closed her eyes.

Her phone beeped indicating she had a message, "Seriously Samuel, I want to sleep."

She carried her phone from the nightstand to check and saw a message from Justin...

"Goodnight, Sweet dreams my princess." With a dreamy sticker.

She blushed at the message, didn't reply though, and kept it back on the nightstand before she slept off.
