first day of school2

English class was amazing. I found myself relating to the protagonist of the story. he was alone even in the midst of a crowd. the sound of the bell announced the end of the class. the teacher gave us an assignment to write a short biography on the author of the book.

I packed up my books and stood up. Gerald was already waiting at the door.

hurry up, Anna. we have to go.

I'm coming, I replied

it was time for lunch so we went to the cafeteria. we joined the line after picking up our trays. I wasn't really hungry but I knew I had to eat. I took some mashed potatoes and bacon bits and an apple.

Gerald guided me to a table and I sat down.

so how are you enjoying your first day?

it's not too bad, I shrugged as I took a bite of my apple.

Gerald laughed, just give this school a chance. you will soon learn the ropes.

it's not like I have a choice anyway.

the doors swung open and the entire cafeteria went silent. Gerald rolled his eyes and I turned to see who it was that caused that kind of response.

he was tall, masculine and brown. his hair was so curly that it bounced as he walked. he was the most handsome guy I've ever seen and his eyes, oh my God those blue eyes were so captivating. as he walked past me, I perceived the full force of his cologne. he was definitely a senior judging from his aura and physique.

hey!! earth to Anna, Gerald said. you are practically drooling. come on.

I reluctantly turned back to my table. who is that?

that's Thai, he's in the 12th grade, Gerald said dismissively as he kept eating.

God he's so hot, I said dreamily.

I really don't understand that the hype is about.

are you kidding me?! that guy looks like a Greek god.

Alexa soon came to join us. what's up guys?

Anna just met Thai, Gerald said and rolled his eyes.

so, what did you think? Alexa asked.

he's definitely something, I said.

Thai!! Thai!! he only stayed in the cafeteria for 10 minutes but he was on my mind through out the whole day. we had a few classes after then. Gym was the last.

it was time for gym. we started doing some warmup exercises. finally time to get some action.

I could feel my blood racing through my veins. sports was my safe space where I could clear my head. the adrenaline makes me feel like I'm in cloud nine. it's very addictive.

after the warmup, we played some volleyball. we were separated into 4 teams. Alexa, Gerald and I were in the same team. there were 3 rounds. our team easily beat our opponents and the other team defeated their opponents to secure a spot in the finals. there was a star player in the team, she was tall and had blonde hair. she was very beautiful but she had an arrogant behavior.

whose that? I asked.

that's Gwen, she's basically good in everything. from academics ranging to sports. her parents are very rich and she's well one of the queen bees around here.

if there was one thing I hated, it was stuck up bitches. I was going to teach her a lesson.

it was time for the finals. the match was tough, Gwen's team started with the lead but we came back at the end. the winning strike was done by me and I smacked it right down in her face.

That's the end of todays class, the gym instructor said.

what's your name? you must be new? he asked me.

yes, I just came today, my name is Anna Hawkins.

you were very good today, I was very impressed.

thank you sir. I replied.

I look forward to seeing you play, next time, my name is coach Green.

thank you sir, I smiled.

you are amazing! Gerald and Alexa chorused. some people came around to congratulate me too.

Gwen and her squad came as well. hey newbie, that was really impressive. Thank you so much, I said.

I hope you know you are just lucky today and if you try to mess with me again like today then you will regret it, she sneered.

let's go girls. she called and they turned around and left.

don't mind her, Alexa said as she handed me my bag. she just feels threatened by the new girl.

I smiled, I'm not worried, I handled my sister since I was born so I'm sure that I can handle this girl.

we walked out of the gym and went to the parking lot. school was over for today.

that's my car over there, Gerald pointed towards a black Toyota venza. Alexa and I ride together.

wow, sweet ride, I whistled.

I ride with my sister and my brother. our car is parked on the other side.

alright we have to start going, I have guitar practice in a few minutes.

tomorrow is soccer practice, I'll introduce you to the team then.

I walked towards the car. Mike was already there waiting.

how was your first day? I asked.

it was alright, he answered. how was yours?

it was okay too. my team won a volleyball match.

that's very nice, he smiled.

where's Jessica, I'm honestly very tired.
