I won't let him off easily

Doing as instructed, Kaia went to the car to wait for Alex. The more she sat there, the more her mind wandered, making her want to freak out even more. She bit her lip gently, a few stray tears staining her cheeks.

Zac shuffled into the meeting room and looked around at all the members, bowing lightly before walking over to Alex. He bent down and whispered the details of the accident in his ear, making Alex freeze on the spot. Instead of showing fear or sadness his face became blank and sour. He quickly stood up from his chair walking out.

Glancing over the room, Zac took a deep breath."Sorry for all of the trouble, The meeting will be deferred. All of you will receive something for your troubles," Zac explained, not going into much detail before walking out of the conference room. Zac made his way up to Alex, "What do you need me to do?"

Alex looked at Zac, "You know the company more than anyone. I need you to be my Co-Ceo. Make sure everything stays running well." Alex paused for a second thinking. "Also, look into the wreck and find out who was operating that truck. I'll send Naomi back up to help out with things," He said before stepping onto the elevator. Zac nodded and walked towards Alex's office.

Once Alex got to the garage, he went straight to the car opening the door, "Naomi. I need you to stay and help Zac run the company. We will keep you updated."He said before climbing into the driver seat. Kaia moved to the passenger seat buckling up before looking at Alex. She couldn't help but sob. Alex pulled her into a small hug and kissed her forehead."Shhh, It'll be okay. Our girl is very strong. Have faith in her, "He said before putting the car in drive, heading to the hospital.

Karin sat in the room watching the tv screen in horror. She stood up but stopped hearing Caine in the other room talking on the phone. She moved against the wall listening in.

Caine paced back and forth in the room."Why now!? You didn't wait for me to give a signal! This is the worst timing ever!" He yelled through the phone. There was a pause and then a sigh, "Why? Because I just found out that you're going to have a grandkid."

Groaning, Caine furrowed his brows, "This is all on you! You said to get her to get to Kaia. You didn't say anything about killing a kid!" Caine hung up in frustration before throwing his phone. Karin stepped out, into view. She frowned looking at him. "Why can't you just let things go and let them live in peace! Killing a child? Whether it's you or him, you are both the same… You don't deserve a kid," She exclaimed before turning to leave.

Shaking with anger, Caine walked forward grabbing her arm. "What are you planning on going to?"He asked, his voice wavered a bit. Karin yanked her arm away, "away from you." That only exacerbated Caine more. He went to seize her again, except this time Karin expected it. She quickly jabbed him in the throat with four fingers like she was taught in self-defense. As Caine struggled to regain his airway Karin made her escape.

Once they got to the hospital, both Alex and Kaia walked through the halls trying to figure out where to go. It was getting harder for Kaia to keep her cool. She began to yell at the nurses at the front counter. Alex grabbed her holding her close, letting her sob in his chest. "Calm down love," He said, comforting her.

A nurse stepped out of a set of double doors and over to them. "Mr. and Mrs. Sabor, Sorry for the delay. Alexa is in surgery. She suffered some internal injuries and has asphalt burns, from being thrown from the car. The internal injuries were nothing too serious. She did break a few ribs, and one punctured her lung. She has a fractured femur and a small hairline fracture in her collarbone. If anything she's rather lucky that it's not worse, "The nurse explained calmly.

Standing calmly, Alex looked at the nurse. "When can we see Alexa?" he asked in Kaia's stead. Knowing that's what she wanted to know most. The nurse looked at them sorrowfully, "It'll be a bit. I'll come back out and update you every hour while she's in surgery. Afterward, we will talk about getting you back to see her." Alex nodded and got Kaia to sit down.

Hearing his phone ring, Alex shifted in his seat before answering, "Hello?" Zac was on the other line typing a few things as he spoke. "The culprit is actually the same man that shot you years ago. Knowing this, there is only one person I know that could be behind this," Zac spoke, the keyboard becoming quiet as he stopped typing.

Alex frowned, gripping his phone. "Zac, get a hold of Castello and inform him. It's time to make our move. I'm not waiting anymore," He hung up and looked at Kaia frowning as she looked at him defeated. Alex pulled her into an embrace and sighed, "I will take care of this. You just worry about Alexa. I won't let him off easily."

Alex stayed with Kaia in the waiting room until the doctor came out to speak to them. The doctor shook their hands," Alexa is expected to make a full recovery. We do want to keep her in the CCU for the night to make sure everything remains stable. I can take you to her room." Kaia didn't hesitate to jump in. "Yes please," She said in a pleading manner. The doctor nodded and led them to the back.

Making sure to set up security very tightly, Alex walked with Kaia to the CCU. Once Kaia saw Alexa in the hospital bed she fell apart. Alexa was connected to many machines and wires. Her body was wrapped in multiple places. A burn specialist was in the room looking over her burns. He looked up and pressed his lips together, "It looks worse than it is. After she's cleared from the CCU, we will take her to the burn ward and get her set up for a skin graft. It'll look as if nothing happened." Covering the burns again, the doctor excused himself from the room giving them some time.
