One thing to be a vampire, its a whole different thing to know how to be a vampire. Luna Jenkins knew little about being a vampire. Her frigging emotions just kept skyrocketing without briefing her.
(Screw this feelings. I have to do something)
Luna explored her mind to get something, anything, that could help, but nothing came up.
(Knocks at the door)
The bangs at the door takes Luna out of her head, helping her to regain consciousness of her environment.
"Go find someone else to fuck with Shane" Luna barked.
"It's me, Ashley. Your friend - best friend" Ashley stated, her voice piercing through the door.
Luna glances around, noticing she had to put away some stuff before letting Ashley in.
(Luna moves to the door, turning the knob open)
"How did you know I was here?" Luna curiously asked.
"Oh, Shane told me. He was even nice to me" Ashley snickered as she walked into the tent.
"I'm sorry Ash"
"Why?" Ashley asked.
"We didn't leave things in good terms the last time we spoke, did we?"
"Yeah, you walked out on me. You were probably having a bad day. You're my best friend Luna, the only girl that gets me, that accepts my flaws. I can't stay mad at you for more than 24 hours"
Due to Luna's twice as much emotions and heightened senses, she couldn't stop herself from crying.
Ashley felt even more when she saw the drops of tears course down Luna's cheeks.
"Oh my god Luna. You don't have to. Come here" She extends her arms for a warm hug.
Luna hurries into her embrace, sinking herself into Ashley's warm body.
"Yes, that's it. Let's keep this up" Ashley proposes.
Luna starts to feel something else. She could hear Ashley's heartbeat, steady and calm. Luna's body quivered, as the thirst for blood came up. Her body twitched in Ashley's embrace, expressing sudden discomfort. Her eyes couldn't look away from Ashley's neck. She could see Ash's veins, filled with fresh blood.
"What's wrong Luna?"
"Your neck. Your..." Luna salivated, as she spoke.
Ashley lets go of Luna, throws her hands on her neck to examine it.
"Nothing's wrong with my neck Luna. What do you mean?"
Luna swallowed her spittle, closed her eyes, doing all she could to gain control.
"You should leave Ash"
"What. Why?" Ashley moves forward, attempting to lay her hands on Luna.
"Don't! Leave now, please" Luna bellowed.
"I don't get you anymore Luna. You know where to find me when you need me" Ashley said, as she nodded slightly, sniffled back some tears, walking away.
The thirst wasn't gone though, causing Luna to grind her teeth trying to control herself.
(It won't go away. Why the hell is it still there. The burning sensation, the terrible thirst for blood. Shit!!!) Luna screamed in her mind.
She ransack the whole place, making a mess of it, doing all to lay her hands on the stashed pints of blood left.
Her hunger got the best of her, triggering her to gush all the pints left down her throat in a giffy. She roared, displaying her elongated fangs, she needed more. She got back to ransacking, and to her surprise saw another bag full of pints of blood.
"Bloody Johnny" she said, smiling through her fangs.
Luna drank till she felt the satisfaction she yearned for.
"Fuck!!! Shit. Yes. Holy mackerel! I feel more alive now"
Suddenly, a thought pops up in her mind.
"Perhaps if I meet another vampire asides Johnny, I might find some answers. I have a gut feeling there are more vampires in Moore's Creek"
**********
The sun was gone, students were out having campfires, but Luna was into something else.
She got into the woods, breathed in and out, letting her vampire mojo out. She relied on her vampire self to help her find more vamps.
The woods had different stench as she walked through the wet, sticky ground. Her body kept going on its own, making her feel more at ease.
She perceived blood some metres away, which convinced her she was near.
There she was, staring at a bunch of strange looking people sitting around a fire, having stains of blood on their clothes.
(Could it be? Whao, I should go find out) Luna said to herself.
The attention of all turned to Luna's direction, all eyes were fixed on her. Everyone stared in confusion.
"What could a human girl be doing out here this late?" someone among them uttered.
"Who cares? She's dinner uhhh. Ha ha" the fellow beside him replied.
Luna could feel the eyes of all on her, but it didn't stop her. She walked up to them confidently, raising her chin up.
"Hi" she uttered without emotions, as soon as she got to them.
Two among them, stood to their feet, with their fangs out, rushed towards Luna.
"Let her be, you two!" a fellow among them, who seemed older than all of them, reprimanded.
"What, why?" they both asked, stopping halfway towards Luna.
"Isn't it obvious she's a vampire, and besides she's someone I know"
(What the fuck is this old man blabbing about? How the hell do you know me?) Luna said in her mind.
The man got to his feet, did a few stretches, and smiled, walking up to Luna.
"We meet again" he said.
(His face isn't exactly familiar, but it's just like I've seen him before, somewhere)
"Do I know you?" Luna inquired calmly.
The man turned to his crew, and informed, "Relax everyone, I played a major role in turning her some days ago. She's a newbie vamp."
"Oh, you killed her, knowing vampire blood was in her system?" one of them asked.
"You know me well, don't you? Ha ha" The man turns to Luna, "Welcome to the family, love"
"Welcome to the family!" Everyone cheered, glueing their eyeballs on her.
(Okay, this is crazy! Hilarious! But well, I got to meet a bunch of other vampires, so, it's a win, isn't it?) Luna asked herself, feeling relieved.
