No matter how hard I worked on making Noah put me down, he just wouldn’t, that bastard. Why the heck did he have to be so gung ho about taking me back to the cottage just to get changed?
“Noah,” I said. “Can you please just put me down?”
“I’ll put you down when we get to the car,” Noah said.
I had no choice but to comply, knowing Noah. Once we were beside the car, he did indeed put me down.
Suddenly, a loud voice came our way. “Haru! Is that you?”
I groaned inwardly and hastily opened the door. I was about to get in when Tristan came bustling over and caught me by the arm, stopping me in my tracks. He turned me around, and the moment he saw me, he uttered, “Holy shit! I’m right.” Chuckling, he said, “Come on, let’s go inside.
