Harry Potter: The Boy Who Eats[COMPLETE]

How bad can life be? For Happy Lestrange, an ordinary boy from an ordinary world, after being diagnosed with stomach cancer at three, the hospital became his permanent home. As a result, he never got to make friends, never got to play, run, swim, and worst of all—eat. His only respite to his boredom was various novels, movies, manga, and comics. But one of them stood above all others: Harry Potter. He was always interested in its lore and slowly fell in love with everything about the Wizarding World. But the thing he envied the most was not the magic but rather the Hogwarts feasts. So, with no cure in sight, at the age of 15, in a coma, he was put to eternal sleep. But that was not the end of the journey for Happy. "Speak, young child, what do you desire? Heaven, or reincarnation?" "Grandpa God, I want to go to Hogwarts and eat lots of tasty food!" "..." "Child, are you sure?" "YES!" "Young child, I bless you with luck. So go, taste the food, and experience all the mouthwatering scents! Go and eat to your heart's content." And so began the journey of the boy who eats. But, there was a surprise for Happy. One that could also be a curse if used unwisely. In a world so dark, and hurdles in his way plenty, can he overcome them and be...Happy? ___________________ WARNING: I write wholesome, Slice of Life stories where a greater and more serious plot is slowly expanded as the story goes. 3. All in One Pet

"Refuse? Why?"

"I don't like snakes, that's why..." He mumbled and looked around the shop.

"What?" Ollivander's brows shot up.

"No, nothing. Anyway, please show me what else you got, Mr. Ollivander. What about that one? I like its color, dark brown and polished...or what about that?"

Ollivander stared at Happy with eyes filled with shock and confusion, "M-Mr. Lestrange, the wand chooses the wizard, and that wand chose you. So if you take another wand, it might not be compatible with you."

Happy kept looking around. "Woah, is that a redwood wand? Hmm, I am planning on entering Gryffindor. I should take that color!"

"B-But… You can't choose a wand randomly, Mister Lestrange." Even if Ollivander said so, he still took down the deep red box.

"Are you sure, young man?" Ollivander quizzically looked at him while carefully handing him the redwood wand.

Happy nodded with certainty. He didn't back down, for he knew his power of luck. Since he had selected it out of his own free will, it was bound to be something beneficial to him.

Happy took the wand, and before he even waved it, the wand had already started to glow. At first, the glow was subtle, but it gradually became brighter and brighter. The redwood wand exuded a warm orange glow as if it was bathed in the sunset. Happy didn't know what to do. All he felt was something amazing coursing through his body.

'This is magic!'

"Marvelous, perfect harmony! I've never seen a wizard connect with two wands. This is a twelve-inch, made of Redwood, with Zouwu's fang as the core. Certainly a strange combination, but nonetheless, a powerful wand."

"How much is it?"

"Seven Galleons."

"I'll take it! And please give me that one, that one, that one, and that one as well! Thank you!" Happy pointed at a few boxes of wands at random, thinking that his luck would help him with them too. However, he didn't ask to try them at all.

"But, but...young man..." Ollivander was a little distressed. But since he was the quintessential kind old man, he really couldn't get angry about it. He couldn't even stop himself from getting the wands Happy pointed to. He was running a shop, after all, who was he to deny it?

Ollivander tied up all the wand boxes into a bundle and set them down on the table. "Are you sure?"

"As sure as I'll ever be! How much?"

"35 Galleons 6 Sickles."

Happy slammed the money on the table, plucked the boxes off and left the old Ollivander with a hanging jaw.

As the bell on the door jingled once again, Ollivander was still standing in place, wondering what had just happened.

...

"Let's see... What should I do next?" Happy thought to himself.

"Marcus thinks master should buy supplies for Hogwarts, Master." A tiny whisper came from behind.

"Oh! Marcus! You're still here?!" Happy turned around and noticed Marcus hiding in his shadow.

"Yes, Master said Marcus should follow. Marcus obey, Marcus follow silently. He will not bother Master."

"That's right, but having you follow me around would make people think I'm a spoiled young master, having the 'help' foll..."

Whack!

Marcus suddenly slapped himself.

"Marcus bad! Marcus sullied Master's name! Marcus bad elf!"

"Hey, hey, stop there, buddy." Happy caught his hand. "Marcus, since you are the chief house elf, you should go home now and see how the others are doing their work."

"Master doesn't need Marcus?" Marcus looked at Happy with worry in his eyes.

"No, I don't mean that. You make sure the others do their jobs properly. I'll be home when I'm done."

"Yes master! Marcus will do it now!" Marcus smiled, revealing the few teeth he had left.

Then with a snap, the old house elf disappeared.

With that, Happy continued his excursion. He had noted down everything he needed to buy for school. But when he started walking, he smelled the delicious scent in the air. Every two or three steps he took, he paused, taking in the scent.

'Well... I'm alone; I have money and an empty tummy! So let's do this!'

Happy went to Madam Malkin's Robes to buy some robes, and spent a few Galleons on some sets he would need.

Then, he ate.

Happy went to Flourish and Blotts to buy books, quills, scrolls, and the likes.

Then, he ate.

After that, he went to buy more supplies for his new life, like a few changes of civilian clothes, shoes, and so on.

Then once again, he ate.

There was no shop he didn't visit in Diagon Alley. But, eventually, he started to feel tired, and his belly was getting full.

'Ah... maybe I need to look for a stamina potion...?' Happy thought, as his shoulders dropped.

But as he walked slowly, a chirp suddenly caught Happy's attention. He looked and noticed a shop that was selling all sorts of animals. Through the window, he could see owls in cages, snakes in terrariums, spiders hanging, reptiles crawling, cats playing, and every kind of animal he could and couldn't name.

The shop's name was written above the door; Magical Menagerie.

"Ah, I need a pet!"

Happy walked into the shop. Once inside, he was delighted to see the animals up close, although most were in cages or glass boxes. The animals that were free to move in the shop were only the docile ones, like cats and dogs.

There were also a lot of people in the shop, adults browsing around and children around his age plastering themselves on the terrarium glass, trying to get a better look at the reptiles.

The crowded shop was a little too stuffy for Happy, so he quickly chose to buy an owl without perusing around for too long.

'Owls! They're useful, small, and not bad looking. I can also save money on stamps, I guess. I'll just get one.'

Happy went straight to the fowl section of the shop. He looked at the various beautiful birds, sitting calmly or sleeping. All of them looked amazing. Some looked cute, like a Parakeet. Some were beautiful, like a Cockatiel, some looked cool, like a Horned Owl, and a few looked terrifying.

"Honk!"

Suddenly, a strange sound rang out, and Happy looked down.

There, he noticed a white goose behind a glass cage. Nobody was looking at it or paying any attention to it. The adorable big goose looked at the people passing by, sometimes even calling out to them out of boredom. Its big dark eyes looked endearing as it tried to catch people's attention.

Then, like magic, the Goose looked straight at Happy and stared into his eyes. As Happy did the same, he felt a connection to it. Its tail feathers started to shake left and right, looking very joyful.

The poor bird was alone in there. No one was even looking at it since it looked quite plain. Its fluffy white feathers were basic, with no unique markings; its beak and webbed feet were orange and had nothing special to add. All and all, it was just a goose.

Happy walked up to it and pointed, "You're coming with me!"

And soon, a boy named Happy and his happy goose left the shop.

....

Plick plack!

Plick plack!

The feathery white creature waddled along, following each step Happy took. Sometimes faster, sometimes slower, keeping up with its new owner.

Happy suddenly stopped, held his chin, and observed the goose for a moment.

It could fly, so he didn't care, not to mention the big white boy was utterly cute, and the sound it made with the feet was also loveable.

Happy nodded confidently and said, "Koko, that's what I'm naming you. Be a good boy now, okay?"

"Quack!"

"..."

"You're a Goose, Koko, not a duck. Why are you quacking? Did the shop scam me? Are you a duck?"

"Woof!"

"..."

"Meow!"

"..."

"Raawr!"

"..."

"Oink!"

Happy's jaw fell, and his eyes widened. "W-What? You can mimic other animal sounds?"

"Mooo…"

"That's so...awesome! Brilliant, Koko. You're as magical as I expected! This is certainly my luck. But, speaking of my luck...Koko, what do you think will happen if I start doing something random?"

Koko tilted his head, not really understanding his new human friend. But he cheered his friend up by barking a few more times.

Happy rubbed his black hair and thought about trying the true extent of his luck, "Hmm… Is my luck supposed to always result in the best outcome or just an outcome that won't harm me? For example, if I jump from Hogwarts' tower, will I be completely unscathed, or will my bones break, but I'll live — Won't surviving be considered lucky at that point?"

Happy pondered for a while and soon felt his stomach growl again. But his curiosity was fueling him. "Let's give it a try!"

...

Happy quickly walked to the busiest area of Diagon Alley and took out a golden Galleon from his pocket. Then, he went to a cafe and moved to its first-floor balcony to see far and wide.

"Alright, let's see what happens if I throw this coin. Who will it hit?"

Swoosh!

"Woof!"

"..."

Koko jumped, flew up to grab the coin he threw, and returned it to him like a loyal dog.

"Koko, don't do that. Sit here and just watch."

Happy told the goose to stand beside his leg and threw the coin out again with full strength.

Ting!

In no time, it hit someone on the head—a young man, from what he saw. The young man picked up the coin from the ground and started looking around worriedly.

But Happy was going wild.

"Holy fricking juicy chicken!!! It fell on Harry Potter!"
