There will be heavy changes to the original plot so be aware and also MC becomes overpowered rather quickly as the story moves forward and he won't hesitate to take some drastic measures if necessary, so he won't have a moral compass. Chapter 123: The Eradication of Dementors

Initially, Alaric was not easily affected by the Dementors' abilities.

However, the experience of drifting in the temporal tunnel after crossing over to this world was too long and too dark. Those dark memories were triggered, engulfing his will in an instant.

For a long time, this experience had been deeply buried in Alaric's heart.

The sense of accomplishment he continuously gained in magic and the happiness brought by a few beloved companions made him believe that he had completely let go of it all.

But with the appearance of the Dementors, that despairing and fearful experience echoed once again in his mind.

Suddenly, a powerful heartbeat throbbed in his chest, and the surging magic, accompanied by scorching heat, instantly dispelled the chill from his body and the despair and darkness from his heart—it was the power of the dragon.

He snapped out of his reverie in an instant.

Before him, he saw a face that seemed as if it had rotted away, eagerly attempting to suck something.

"You wretched souls, dare to come and trouble me!" Alaric roared at the Dementors.

It had been a long time since he had suffered such a significant injury. Not even Voldemort's two plots had harmed him in the slightest.

He raised his wand, pointing it at the Dementors, and shouted, "Expecto Patronum!"

A white light emanated from his wand, forming into a dazzling white dragon.

The dragon roared angrily at the Dementors, startling them into retreat. However, the dragon relentlessly pursued them.

With a silver-white glow, the guardian dragon flew across the sky, finally catching up to the Dementors.

The guardian dragon lifted its head high and took a deep breath, then forcefully exhaled a burst of silver-white, intense dragon breath.

The terrifying breath swept over the Dementors, engulfing these dark creatures completely.

They emitted sharp cries of agony, ultimately turning into wisps of black smoke.

Alaric's Patronus charm was indeed unimaginably powerful.

Originally thought only to be able to repel, not eradicate, the Dementors, yet his guardian completely killed them.

Although two Dementors had been destroyed, Alaric was still not relieved.

He looked up at the sky to see several Dementors still flying over Hogwarts.

Upon discovering their comrades' demise, they congregated and swooped toward Alaric, seemingly intending to overwhelm his guardian with sheer numbers and then suck him dry, the instigator of their demise.

Alaric waved his wand, and the silver-white guardian beat its wings, charging towards the Dementors, engaging them in combat.

As Alaric's formidable magical power continued to surge, the guardian became even stronger. Its size grew larger, and it shimmered even more brilliantly.

It spat out silver-white dragon breath without restraint, causing the Dementors it touched to emit silent cries of agony—the areas touched by the flames melted away like ice and snow.

Realizing the situation was dire, the Dementors began to retreat.

However, the hostility toward the one who had eliminated their companions made them linger near Alaric, unwilling to leave.

"What exactly happened here?" Dumbledore's voice suddenly echoed behind Alaric.

A silver-white phoenix flew out—it was Dumbledore's guardian.

It swooped towards the Dementors in the air. With the combined efforts of the phoenix and the dragon, the Dementors were immediately suppressed, intensifying their pressure.

Reluctantly, the Dementors circled nearby for a while before finally departing.

"Alaric," Dumbledore walked up to Alaric, asking solemnly.

"Could you tell me what exactly happened here? Why did the Dementors attack you?"

Alaric angrily explained everything and questioned Dumbledore, "Why does Hogwarts allow Dementors to reside near the school?

It's completely disregarding the safety of the students. If they were to give a kiss to any student, you know the consequences."

"Your Patronus can actually destroy Dementors?" Dumbledore was evidently stunned by this news.

It took him a while to digest this fact, then he explained.

"This is the Ministry of Magic's protection measure for Hogwarts, to prevent Sirius Black from harming the students. Dementors won't harm the students…"

Dumbledore couldn't finish the last sentence. Clearly, the Dementors' actions against Alaric had violated the regulations.

"Do you think those idiots at the Ministry can control Dementors?" Alaric showed a disdainful expression.

"They believe they can control everything, but in reality, Dementors don't pledge allegiance to anyone.

They only obey the Ministry because those blockheads allow them to breed. When they were at Azkaban, they could still be controlled, but now... look."

Alaric pointed to the Dementors hovering in the air, drifting aimlessly, seemingly searching for something, exhaling cold breath, creating chill and frost.

"They're about to lose control completely."

"Alas," Dumbledore sighed, resigned.

"You're right. I'll warn the Ministry to strengthen their restraint on Dementors."

Having said that, he turned to Alaric. "I think you should go see Madam Pomfrey immediately, have her check on you, and maybe have a piece of chocolate or a cup of hot cocoa there. Off you go."

In the evening, the train finally arrived at the platform of Hogwarts, with a cold rain pouring down.

The small platform was already frozen, all thanks to the Dementors.

Young wizards and witches began to disembark, the scene as chaotic as ever, but the atmosphere was completely different from usual.

Their faces were all pale, evidently, the train had been visited by Dementors.

In the crowd, Alaric spotted a slender figure. Cho Chang was being helped by her friend Marrietta as she walked onto the platform.

Hermione was whispering comforting words beside her.

Cho Chang looked pale, trembling all over, in a bad state.

Alaric approached her with concern, and when Cho Chang saw him, she immediately threw herself into his arms.

She was terrified by the Dementors.

Alaric held her close, her body felt wet and cold. He gently patted her back.

"I don't think I'll ever be happy again," Cho Chang said pitifully, trying to curl up into Alaric's embrace, as if only there could bring her warmth.

"Something's not right with her," Hermione frowned, turning to Alaric, hoping he could think of something.
