As I flipped through the pages of this comic book (yes, I'm totally aware of the cosmic irony here—I'm the main character), the last days of Krypton were unfolding with all the dramatic flair of a soap opera marathon. Picture this: the planet's about to explode, and I'm the little guy in the middle of it all, looking way too cute for this kind of drama.
So there I was, Harkel Lor-Zel, just a baby who hadn't even figured out how to use my super-strength yet, while my parents, Aronel and Sera-Vex, were making the "let's-save-our-kid-from-impending-doom" arrangements with the help of the high-flying House of El. Yeah, the same El family that gave the world Kal-El—aka Superman. Talk about some heavyweight allies.
Jor-El and Lara-El were the scientific masterminds behind our escape plans. They were like the superhero tech wizards, setting up two spacecrafts—one for me and one for their son, Kal-El. All decked out with advanced Kryptonian gadgets and supplies, these ships were basically our get-out-of-dodge tickets.
Krypton was on the brink of a total cosmic meltdown. I'm talking epic explosions, the kind that would make a Michael Bay movie look like a quiet dinner party. Amid all this, Aronel and Sera-Vex had this emotional goodbye scene with me that felt like it belonged in an Oscar-winning drama.
"Remember, Harkel," Aronel said, choking up, "you and Kal-El are the last great hope of Krypton. Even if we're galaxies apart, our love will always be your guiding star." It was like he was trying to win Best Supporting Parent in a Sci-Fi Drama.
Sera-Vex wasn't about to be outdone. She gave me this intense stare, like she was trying to telepathically transmit "be awesome" vibes. "You carry the strength of our ancestors, Harkel. Let it guide you through the darkest times." If I could've talked back, I'd have said something like, "Got it, Mom. No pressure."
With one last heart-wrenching hug and some serious emotional weight packed into my tiny baby-self, they shoved me into the spacecraft. The hatch sealed with a hiss that made me wonder if I was about to embark on the greatest adventure or be a baby in a really weird science fiction plot.
And as my ship rocketed away from Krypton's impending doom, my parents faced their fate, while I was rocketing off into the vast unknown. In the darkness of space, with the memory of their love as my beacon, I drifted into a new chapter of this cosmic saga. Because nothing says "hero's journey" like a baby in a spaceship dodging planet-sized fireworks.

So, picture this: Sirius Black is standing next to James Potter, and the air is so thick with grief you could practically cut it with a knife. Seriously, the room feels like it's been dunked in sadness. It's the kind of situation where the only thing you can do is try not to think too much about how heavy everything feels.
Sirius, ever the solid rock of a best friend, puts a hand on James's shoulder. The kind of gesture that says, "I've got you," even though it feels like nothing can really fix this. "James," Sirius says softly, his voice like he's trying not to break into a thousand pieces, "I can't even imagine what you're going through right now. Losing a child... well, that's just... it's not something anyone should ever have to go through."
James, looking like he's been through an emotional blender, just sinks even further. His eyes are holding back tears like they're trying to win a contest. "Sirius, she was... she was everything to us. Lily..."
James's voice wavers, breaking up like a bad Wi-Fi signal. He's clearly struggling to keep it together, but who could blame him? Losing a child is the kind of thing that doesn't just sting—it rips a gaping hole in your heart and leaves you to figure out how to mend it.
Sirius, who's probably had enough practice with hugs to open a school for them, pulls James into a bear hug. It's one of those hugs that say, "I'm here, and even though it's not enough, it's all I've got." "I know, mate," Sirius murmurs, voice thick with emotion. "I know. But you're not alone in this. We're all in this together. Lily's going to be alright, and we'll get through this. Together."
And just like that, amidst all the heartache and chaos, Sirius's words are like a lifeline. A promise that even when everything feels like it's falling apart, there are still people who will stand by you, no matter what.
As I look at this scene unfolding, I can't help but think that this is where heroes are truly made—not in the flashy battles or grand victories, but in the quiet moments of grief and support. That's where the real strength lies. And if that's the kind of world I'm stepping into, it looks like I'm in for one heck of a journey.

Alright, let me paint you a picture. Imagine James and Sirius, in the middle of a pretty intense night, when—BOOM!—the silence is ripped apart by a crash that shakes the ground like a rogue dragon had a little too much fun. Naturally, their first reaction? Whip out their wands and prepare for battle, because nothing screams "danger" like a sudden, earth-shattering explosion.
So, there they are, running outside like they're late for a Quidditch match, only to find their backyard transformed into the set of a disaster movie. There's this huge crater in their lawn, smoke curling up into the night sky like some sort of cosmic barbecue. If that wasn't enough, there's an actual spacecraft sitting in the crater, looking like it had a serious mid-air mishap.
James, his heart beating faster than a snitch on the run, stares at the wreckage. "Sirius, what in Merlin's name is happening?" His voice is half panic, half disbelief, and all confusion.
Sirius, ever the seasoned trouble-shooter, is scanning the area with the precision of a hawk on the hunt. "I don't know, James, but this could be a Death Eater stunt. We need to be ready."
So, like a pair of spell-slinging superheroes, they edge closer to the crater, wands at the ready. What do they find? A metal Golem—yes, you heard that right—a metal Golem cradling a tiny, mysterious bundle. And this bundle isn't some enchanted artifact; it's a baby. Not just any baby, but one wrapped in clothes that look like they're from another galaxy.
James's jaw nearly hits the ground. "What… what is that thing?" he asks, his mind clearly struggling to process the situation.
Before Sirius can offer any sage wisdom, the Golem steps out of the smoke, and there it is—the baby, eyes wide and innocent, reaching out as if to say, "Hi there! You wouldn't happen to have any milk, would you?"
Confusion, concern, and a healthy dose of parental instinct hit James all at once. He lowers his wand, his protective nature kicking into high gear. "Sirius, it's just a baby…"
Sirius, who was about to unleash a world-class side-eye, looks at the kid and then back at James. He must have realized that no amount of dark magic or intergalactic chaos could justify harming a defenseless baby. He nods, and together, they drop their wands and approach the Golem.
James stretches out a hand, trying to sound as soothing as one can when dealing with extraterrestrial babies. "Hey there, little one. It's okay, we're not going to hurt you."
The baby reaches out with this tiny hand, looking at James with a mix of trust and curiosity that's just too adorable for words. Despite everything that's gone sideways, James feels this overwhelming surge of compassion. Whatever the baby's origins, one thing's clear—they can't just walk away.
With a firm resolve, James turns to Sirius, his voice steady and determined. "Sirius, we're keeping this baby. Lily… Lily doesn't need to know about… well, about the crash."
Sirius looks at James, the gravity of the situation settling in. "James, are you really sure? This is a huge responsibility, especially with everything that's happening…"
James nods, his eyes fixed on the baby. "I'm sure, Sirius. We can do this. We'll give him all the love and care he deserves, just like we would for our own."
And that's it. With a shared nod, James and Sirius commit to raising the baby as their own. It's a pact made under the stars, in the midst of chaos, but it's a pact made with love and determination. The adventure is just beginning, and if anyone's up for the challenge, it's these two.
And me? Well, that's where my story begins. I might not know exactly where I came from or what's in store, but if James and Sirius are my guardians, I'm pretty sure it's going to be one epic ride.
—
So there we were, James and Sirius, trying to get our heads around the whole "crashed spaceship" scenario, when—wait for it—a holographic woman materialized out of the wreckage. And not just any holographic woman, but one who looked like she'd stepped straight out of an intergalactic fashion show.
She had this ethereal vibe going on, like a mix between a fairy princess and a celestial being. Her hair flowed around her in shimmering waves, and her robes? Let's just say they looked like liquid moonlight. I'm not saying she was from a different planet, but if anyone asked, I'd say she had a serious case of otherworldly elegance.
Sirius, who I usually saw as the cool, collected one, was standing there with his jaw practically on the floor. "Merlin's beard," he muttered, his eyes as wide as dinner plates. Clearly, the interstellar fashion sense had thrown him for a loop.
James wasn't much better. His heart was probably racing faster than the Quidditch snitch as he shot Sirius a look that clearly said, "What in the name of magic is happening here?"
The holographic lady, with a voice that could make a dragon sit up and pay attention, began to speak. "James Potter, Sirius Black," she said, her tone as serious as a troll's bad mood. "I am Sera-Vex, wife of Aronel Lor-Zel and mother of the child you now hold in your arms."
Okay, let me pause for a moment and say, hearing your mom being introduced like that—after you've been in a spaceship crash and possibly about to be raised by wizards—definitely makes for a confusing day. James and Sirius exchanged looks that clearly said, "We've got no idea what's going on, but let's pretend we do."
Sera-Vex, in her glowing moonlight robe glory, continued with the kind of urgency you'd expect if someone told you there was only one slice of pizza left and it was yours to save. "I know this may seem impossible to believe, but you must trust me," she urged, her eyes filled with cosmic seriousness. "The child you found is of great importance. He carries within him the legacy of Krypton, a legacy that must be protected at all costs."
If you're wondering how James and Sirius looked, picture two guys who just got hit with the world's biggest plot twist. Sirius was trying to process the whole "Krypton" thing, while James was probably wondering if he should have picked up a clue from the whole "spacecraft" business.
Sera-Vex wasn't done yet. "You must raise him as your own, James," she said, her voice steady as if she were reciting the rules of a high-stakes game of wizard's chess. "Keep him safe from those who would seek to harm him. His destiny is intertwined with the fate of worlds, and you are his only hope."
Great, just what we needed—a galactic destiny and a world-saving responsibility. But if you ask me, having a superhero mom and a secret legacy definitely makes for an interesting start to any life. So there we were, faced with a destiny as big as the universe itself, and a newborn who, for better or worse, was now the center of our interstellar adventure.
As the hologram flickered out and left us with a new mission that was basically "Save the World 101," I had to admit—it made for one heck of an origin story.
—
As Sera-Vex's holographic image flickered and started to dissolve, leaving James and Sirius in the midst of the cosmic aftermath, I was pretty much caught in a whirlwind of disbelief. Seriously, who knew that being the baby in this superhero origin story would involve such high-stakes drama?
Sirius, with his usual flair for urgency, turned to James. "James, we need to hustle," he said, his voice low and serious. "I'll deal with hiding the spaceship. You start the blood adoption ritual before Lily wakes up. Got it?"
James, probably trying to look like he had everything under control (even though I could tell his mind was doing somersaults), nodded. "Right, Sirius. I'll get the ritual set up."
As Sirius dashed off to conceal the crashed spacecraft (because apparently, that's a thing now), James started gathering the ritual materials. He looked over at me, or rather, the baby version of me, and then back at Sirius.
Sirius paused for a moment, probably realizing the gravity of the situation. "James, what do we call this kid?"
James, ever the thoughtful one, glanced at the pile of ritual components. "Well, they named him Harkel, but I think we should go with Harry. It's got history, a certain gravitas. And honestly, it's less... extraterrestrial."
Sirius's face lit up like he'd just heard the best plot twist ever. "Harry, huh? Yeah, that works. Sounds like a name that could belong to a hero—or a regular kid caught up in extraordinary circumstances."
With our new hero's name decided, we got down to business. Sirius went off to stash the spacecraft (I didn't even ask how), and I prepared for the ancient and solemn blood adoption ritual. My heart was pounding like a drum line at a high school pep rally, but I focused on the task ahead.
I chanted the incantations with as much gusto as I could muster. Each word felt like it was pulling me, Lily, and little Harry into an epic saga of family bonding. Magic swirled around us, and it felt like the universe was giving us a high-five for doing the right thing.
As the ritual reached its climax, I felt this intense surge of energy enveloping me. It was like being wrapped in a cosmic hug. I completed the ritual with a final flourish of my wand, feeling that satisfying sense of accomplishment. Harry was officially ours, bound by magic and love.
I glanced down at Harry, now officially my son. A strange mix of peace and determination settled over me. No matter what came next, we were in this together—like a team of superheroes fighting for a better future.
With a heavy heart, I carefully placed Harry by Lily's side, still unconscious. Then I turned my attention to our daughter, Rose. Lifting her into my arms, I felt the weight of her small body, a poignant reminder of our loss.
Determined to give Rose a fitting farewell, I carried her outside to the garden where I'd prepared her resting place. I dug a small grave beneath a majestic oak tree, the earth soft and welcoming. As I laid Rose to rest, I whispered a silent prayer. "Sleep peacefully, little Rose."
With Rose laid to rest, I returned to Lily's side, my mind a chaotic mix of grief and hope. Harry's presence was a glimmer of light in our darkest hour, a new reason to fight for the future.
As dawn's first light filtered through the room, I sat by Lily's bedside, holding her hand. We had a new beginning, a fresh start with Harry. The road ahead might be tough, but with Harry now part of our lives, we had a new reason to hope and strive for a better tomorrow.
And so, with the sun's rays warming the room, I braced myself for whatever came next. With Sirius by my side, we would build a future for Harry—honoring the legacy of the child from beyond the stars and ensuring he grew up surrounded by love and adventure.
In this new chapter, despite the losses, we had gained a precious new beginning. A future filled with hope, love, and a whole lot of possibilities.
