It was good to back at Hogwarts, in the company of his friends and time spent with Slytherin house always made Lucien fill at ease. When Lucien arrived at Hogwarts, he spent the day relaxing and then went to check on the Patil twins, only to discover that his Golem had already completed his task of rewriting their memories regarding their seer gift.
The Patil Golems were returned back to the chamber of secrets. And Lucien absorbed all the information they had acquired during their time as the Patil twins.
"Did you place these memories into the minds of the real Patil twins before sending them back?" Lucien asked his Golem
"Of course, master" the Golem replied venously nodding his head in affirmation "Not only that, But I made sure that they would always obey master's will. You are now the reason of existing"
"Good, we can consider the Patil house ours when the time comes. Did you remember to implant their mission?"
"Of course, Master. Golem doesn't dare forget master's orders"
Lucien smiles and chuckles a little "Then we can move on. I want you to go back home. Leanna has task for you. You does as she tells you, okay?"
"Yes, master" Golem apparated away after he performed a deep bow.
Later that night. Lucien attended a Banquet hosted by professor Flitwick. Most wouldn't know but, Flitwick had a large amount of respect for Lucien. For almost a year now, Lucien had been constantly providing business, to the Goblin faction, among other things. Though, the two kept their distance as to not attract attention.
When Lucien arrived the first person that he spotted was Katie and her friend…
"Hello Chang"
"Hello Dubois, I haven't seen you in a while. And every time I ask about you, our mutual friend always seems to fall into a bit of a fit"
"Haha it's my fault. We're having a bit of a fight. And instead of expressing herself, she has decided to sulk"
"Haha that's her alright."
As Katie listened to Cho Chang and Lucien talk, she became infuriated and the feeling of betrayal sunk in all over again.
"Stop talking about me as if I'm not here! Cho, you're supposed to be my friend. You do not agree with him…Ever! He's a vile, traitorous man!" she erupted.
Cho and Lucien just stared at her for a moment and turned back to each other
"So, I'll see you later?"
"Sure" Lucien replied. Cho Chang walked away to rejoin the party and left Lucien and Katie to their spat.
"Are you still mad about the Padma thing?" Lucien asked
'How could I not be, you betrayed me" She answered
"I didn't betray you. Have you ever heard the saying 'Closed mouths, do not get fed' If there is ever going to be an us. You must learn to speak up on your own volition. I care about you and I always will. But if you don't change, how could we ever be more than friends?"
Katie was slightly taken aback "How many more ways, can I say that I adore you, Lucien?"
"You can say it a million different ways. But, how many ways have you enacted such feelings?"
Katie remained silent " your coyness is alluring, but, at times it's a burden. When you found out that I was with Padma, every day you spent mad, you should have spent hunting me across the school, so that I can experience the pain I caused you. But instead you go to Chang and you mope"
Katie never wanted to be as overbearing as Navarra, but she now realized that Navarra was overbearing because a person like Lucien, who wanted the world would need to be forced to notice her. Because a pretty face wasn't enough to trample the world, no matter how much people said otherwise. And once you had Lucien's attention, you had to maintain it.
Lucien was pushing her out of character, and she knew it. How far would she go for young, most certainly, puppy love. If it was one thing she learned from Lucien. Take what you want and destroy all that oppose. A tear ran down her cheek
"Leave her, or I'll remove her"
"Even Navarra didn't dare. Fight me, curse me, but, remove Padma? Would you really?'
Katie looked across the room at Padma and Parvati. Parvati was a part of the selection dueling team Flitwick had put together, to petition for inter school dueling tournaments. And it was the reason she and her sister were present at the banquet.
Katie looked back at Lucien "then maybe it's time that she took point from on how to reel in our man" Face Padma once more. Katie brought her middle and index finger to her thumb in a twisting motion below her waistline "sanguine ortum: sanguis laborum bulla sanguinem, sanguinem ulcus"
Across the room Padma was sweating profusely. And she dawned a flushed complexion.
"sanguine ortum: sanguis laborum bulla sanguinem, sanguinem ulcus" Katie muttered again.
Lucien watched as Katie boiled Padma's blood in front of the party.
Lucien did a small gesture that went unnoticed. In order to hex without a connection to the target, the hexer must keep their unblinking eyes on the target.
"sanguine ortum: sanguis laborum bulla sanguinem, sanguinem ulcus" Katie muttered for the third time. Padma spit blood from her mouth , the heat in her body caused her organs to expand and burst.
Padma had killed over, stunning everyone. With everyone's attention on Padma's corpse. Katie turned to Lucien placed a soft kiss on his lips. "If I can't have you, neither can she. And I'll take that step with you when I'm ready. Until then, keep your hands to yourself." Lucien wore a big smile, as Katie tried to walk away.
"And where are you going?" he asked
"Navarra and I have things to talk about" she replied and kept walking. Lucien allowed her to leave and looked back over at Padma. The entire situation had amused him beyond believe. He just wondered what it would be like, once his little fallen angel awoke from her slumber.
Across the room. While Padma was slowly dying. Cho Chang had watched the entire altercation between Lucien and Katie. It had shocked her. The aggression that Katie had shown was only emitted when someone had acted against the sinister seven. Even when she got bullied to keep her from trying out for the Ravenclaw quidditch team , Katie didn't react. However now she had just watched Katie kill a girl.
After that night Lucien had toe perform a respondeo incantation to alter the memoirs of everyone who witnessed Padma's death. Lucien had casted a quick protection spell. Once he realized that Katie was committed to killing Padma unless he caved. As a result, Padma was alive and well. Much to Katie's dismay. Though, that was soon remedied by Lucien
The only people not affected was Katie, Cho Chang, and Professor Flitwick. He wanted Katie to remember what she did, Cho didn't witness Padma's death, her attention was on Katie and her actions. It was a complicated thing, magic and its loopholes. Flitwick however was just a strong son of bitch, and Lucien had to take steps, to make sure Flitwick didn't talk. The King Goblin handled everything.
On June 6th, 1994. The last selection round to finalize the first Hogwarts dueling team was held. Once it was over the highest-ranking duelers, would form Hogwarts team and enter Dueling competition around the world against other school recognized by the international confederation of wizards.
It was also the same day that Peter Pettigrew, was discovered as an unregistered Animagus and was apprehended by the ministry of magic, clearing Sirius Black's name. When Lucien discovered this, he ordered his family to stay way from the situation, once Pettigrew said the most over used statement in the British wizarding world. "The dark lord made me do it"
I wrote this chapter in an attempt to fight the writer's block. Think of it as a filler. with Easter eggs.
for those who think Katie's feelings are sudden. They aren't. I've made Katie's feelings known along with Navarra's. So of course they wouldn't have been happy with the whole Padma ordeal.
But their feelings will finally be written into the story in more detail during year 4.
