Harbingers of Change

The world Star King Dragon Veldanava created was supposed to get a small unassuming slime with great potential. Epilogue

Momonga sat alone on the Throne of Kings. This is where it all started. Only a few months had passed since then, but his previous life felt like a distant, almost forgotten dream.

He had been pushed into a position of an absolute leader, yet this sense of inadequacy never left him. After all, he was just a salaryman from a dystopian world. No family, save for people who he played games with, and no other friends. He had nothing to live for.

Now a vast nation was his to rule. A rule he didn't wish to take upon. This burdensome responsibility weighed heavily upon his shoulders.

What would happen if he made a mistake? How easy it would be to destroy countless lives of his subordinates with one poorly thought-out decision.

For far too long he has just gone with the flow. His two capable assistants made most plans for him, being none the wiser of his inability to match their intellect.

But was it even the case? Dark Sage had made him so much smarter than he was before. Suzuki Satoru would have been way over his head in this situation. Was he Satoru the Salaryman anymore?

The skeletal form he now possessed would say otherwise. The dreaded Overlord Momonga was something much more than a mere human. He could kill armies with a thought, plunge the world into darkness, or make an utopia for those left in his care.

Yet, sometimes he was just Suzuki: a lone, afraid man who felt lost and confused. That man felt more distant each and every day.

Momonga leaned back and exhaled air from nonexistent lungs. It was time to make a decision. He couldn't just sit by and let others do most of the job.

'I accepted this position and responsibilities. I am the Supreme Overlord who rules over Nazarick and Tempest. It is time to become the leader everyone sees me as.'

Momonga stood up and summoned his staff. 'From this day forward, I am Momonga, the Supreme Overlord of Tempest.'

"Hey, Momo is roleplaying again!" A high-pitched shout interrupted his solitude.

"Don't be a bitch, he looks majestic as fuck." Pero came to his defense.

"Do you both need anything?" Momonga asked. The emotional suppression, as usual, came to the rescue and let him remain calm.

"We just came to give heads up that Albedo, Shalltear, and Shion had some disagreement and the ninth floor will need serious repairs," Buku said as she looked away and pretended to whistle.

"What happened?"

"Ohh, nothing. Everyone is fine, more or less. We will be on our way for… important business." Pero chipped in.

"Wait!" He shouted as both teleported away.

'Why do I have a really bad feeling about this? Eh, I resolved to be a true leader, now it's time to exercise it.' Momonga mused as he teleported to the ninth floor, unprepared for what he would have to face.
