Deathly Desire: Aladdin.

Red, everything was overwhelmingly red. It wasn't the blaring neon shades found at a shisha stall neither was it the shades that represented passion and anger, or fire and adventure. No, this red was different, the red that drew sorrow and screams, the red that wasn't very bold, yet impacted the watcher immensely. The red that flowed like a calm river as a storm raged inside him, the red adorning Jafar's robes, the red dripping from Abu's dagger, the red staining her room.

Abu had always accepted the cruel fate life had dealt him, being a circus monkey taught him a lot of things, obedience, lack of hope and trivial tricks being the most important. But then Aladdin, a mere street rat, came along in all his dumpster diving glory and swooped him away to the fields of freedom.

He had dedicated his life to helping and taking care of the boy, being as loyal as a dog and as slick as a cat. They were hated by many, pitied by few and ignored by most, but through it all, they stuck together. Aladdin was extremely generous and caring and with him around there was never a dull moment. He was more than just Abu's human brother and best friend, he was a mentor and father of sorts.

Obviously, Abu could never express these feelings or thoughts, life on the roads was tough and so were the inhabitants of it. That and the fact he was a monkey didn't allow him to express his gratitude and love, so he internally swore to keep the boy safe and always with him. Having his saviour and salvation taken away from him due to an untrustworthy princess seemed like a slap in the face as God laughed and played his games.

He couldn't quite understand the appeal of Princess Jasmine. At first, he thought it was a clever ploy to steal her riches, yet those thoughts quickly diminished. It was just a faze, he told himself, it wasn't 'love at first sight' it was just lust. But these thoughts seemed to be countered when Al wasted his wishes for the princess.

Nevertheless, Abu promised to stick by the boy and help him achieve his goals. He turned into an elephant, watched as they had magic carpet rides, and even stood by through Jafar's ploys. Yet in the end, it seemed useless, the princess rejected him after his true identity was revealed. Something about a stupid prince law allowing the princess to only marry royalty.

The poor boy moped away in a corner after setting Genie free, there was no point tying him down if Aladdin didn't get what he wanted. He blamed it on fate and returned to his marketplace endeavours, but it was clear he longed for her. The ray of sunshine was reduced to a rain cloud, all because of Jasmine.

Abu had his mind set, she had broken his boy's heart, so he'd break her. Anything that hurt Aladdin that much had to be taken care of. Now as an animal, the monkey didn't realise there were better ways to deal with this, after all, his natural instincts were to get rid of her to ensure Al didn't get hurt again. Sneaking into the palace was easy enough, with the staff and guards focused on fixing the majestic building and gloating over capturing Aladdin (for impersonating a prince) he quickly went up to her room.

The night sky surrounded him like an invisibility cloak (HP reference lol) as he climbed the tower, a dagger clutched in his tiny palm. It would have been more convenient to sneak through the halls but Abu didn't want to take any chances, he was bound to get caught by a servant or guard in there.

All the guards weren't fools, and a few of them had seen the monkey slide into the princess's room, but Jafar had ordered them to ignore the monkey if they happened to see him that night. After all, he was the one who revealed Aladdin's secret, hoping this specific chain of events would take place.

The beautiful damsel sat in front of her vanity, humming a light tune as she brushed through her luscious brown locks, unaware of the little animal sneaking up behind her. A sigh escaped her lips as she thought over the week's events, frowning at the little voice in her head questioning why she didn't give the boy a chance.

'He lied about his identity, plus the law is clear and final, there's no point crying over spilt milk.' A tiny squeak was heard behind her as a ball of fur launched itself at her back scratching and slashing away with the dagger madly, its mind set on causing some severe damage. A scream cut through the night, a series of pleas following as the princess begged for mercy, her back a valley of blood and scratches so deep they reached her bone.

Finally, she threw the little thing off, crying and falling onto the floor, another yell of pain accompanying her sobs as her back hit the rough surface.

A body jolted awake as the first scream echoed through the palace. Aladdin looked around his cell and searched for a way out, shrugging off Abu's absence as a hunt for food. Luckily, the monkey had collected more than one weapon, allowing Aladdin to use the other to escape.

His small frame easily snuck to her room, reaching there quicker than the palace guards due to the cells being right under the royal chambers. The corridors seemed overly dark, the shadows roaming freely were almost blinding causing him to knock into quite a few vases. In the end, he arrived at her door, intently listening to her cries before throwing open the (surprisingly open) door.

He rushed up to her, kneeling beside her still body as silent tears fell, he presumed the worst, thinking she was dead. Never had he been as relieved as he was when her chest subtly rose and fell, indicating she had passed out due to blood loss, nothing more and certainly nothing less. He gently laid her onto the bed, shooting a glare at Abu, choosing to focus on not falling her.

"Were you out of your mind?! You could have killed her Abu! What's wrong with you?"

Aladdin screamed, facing his monkey with a dark, sad look plastered onto his face.

"My, my, that act almost seemed convincing! After all, a mere monkey can't kill without being commanded to. The princess rejected you for the street rat you are, so you tried to take her life?"

Jafar sneered down at him as guards rushed into the room.

Aladdin fought long and hard, claiming innocence and pleading for mercy, after all, he didn't want to be hanged for a crime he didn't commit.

The monkey sat back and watched in horror as he was dragged away, a sad look plastered onto his face. The dagger like object in his hand seemed awfully pleasing, tempting him to run it across flesh one last time, but not human flesh. He looked back onto his life, the only happiness he had was his times spent with Aladdin, and now that he was gone, Abu had nothing left. So he did slide the blade across his neck, a grim smile plastered onto his face.
