Chapter 6: Friends.

***********************Greene's Hospital

I had been walking around after climbing out of the bottomless,there was nothing but utter darkness. I must have walked for several miles when I saw a stream of light breaking into the darkness, surrounding me with warmth.I don't know for how long I have been in the darkness,but I embraced the light with no fear.

The sensory cam ,sensed Adrian's movements and alerted the nurses. The doctor and some nurses made their way into the room. Adrian woke up to see a bright light aimed into his eyeballs, 'what's all this? Are they trying to blind him or what?' he thought. The doctor kept talking to the nurses,for all he cared they could be speaking Greek. His throat was patched dry,and a nurse raised a glass of water to his lips. His eyelashes fluttered as he took sips from the cup. The nurse stood back , blushing as she went. If not for ethics,she would have screamed but she bit down on her lower lips .

Adrian was wheeled into a VIP suite for more observation. His mind seems to be blank,just rolling his eyes here and there. The doctors checked him one more time, he frowned in irritation. He hated being touched by outsiders. The doctors seeing the frown on his face, didn't want to upset him. They just left quietly one after the other.

After they had gone out of the suite,he looked towards the window. He could hear unfiltered laughter in his ears,the more he listened tears began to stream from his eyes. He was all alone with no one to share his burden with. The weight of Adrianna's death dawned on him,he had been living in hope that she would return one day but she never came back for him as she promised him.

***************Barcelona, 200X

Adrian walked hand in hand with his sister, Adrianna. She was enjoying the view and laughed, pointed at things as they went. Just as they walked by, she saw me an ice cream truck and stopped walking. Adrian who was walking ahead,turned to see her staring with longing in her orbs. She gulped as she watched two kids receive their cones, she was so carried away that she didn't know when Adrian got to her side.

"You want that ice cream so much",he whispered into her ears. Adrianna turned pink the moment she heard Adrian's voice. She knew she had been busted,so decided to play a quick one on him

"No,I was just looking at that bow" she lied.

Adrian surveyed her , looking at her weirdly. She glared at him, stomping her feet on the ground," stop staring at me. It's awkward"

"You're lying. You really want that ice cream ,don't you?"

"I said I was looking at the hair bow,I don't want any ice cream" she insisted

"You little witch,your left hand is trembling. And it only happens when you're lying" Adrian stated matter of factly. Adrianna put her left hand behind her,gosh , it's hard having a twin brother. He's so annoying. She mentally scolded her left hand for betraying her.

"Yes, I'm lying. I really want that ice cream so bad but I'm afraid I can't take really cold things like that" she complained and dropped her shoulders. Adrian patted her on the back to comfort her . He hugged her because he knew she was going to cry and he hated anything that made her cry.

"If you want that ice cream,I will go get it for you. But stay here,we can't cross the streets together"he said made the ok sign with his hands. She smiled brightly like the sun in summer and nodded, responding with the ok sign with her hands.

Adrian walked to the other side of the street,to the ice cream truck. The vendor was a young lady ,she was nice and sweet, drooling over how cute Adrian was.

" What flavor please?" She purred, Adrian wanted to get away from her as soon as possible.

"Chocolate chip" he responded

After a few more questions,he was finally released. As he crossed the streets,he couldn't find Adrianna. One of the ice cream cone fell off from his hands,he raked his hair to the back. He was scanning the area with his eyes when he felt a small hand at his back. He looked back immediately to see Adrianna,he held close. Examining her body, he saw that she was doing well. He exhaled as and gave her the ice cream cone. She collected it and muttered a thank you. The ice cream melted in her mouth, and she inhaled a deep breath.

"This ice cream is breathtaking" she exclaimed. Noticing that Adrian was in a sullen mood,she pouted.

"Are you sad, Adrian?

"...."no response

"You're not talking to me"

"...."no response still

She sniffled,almost immediately her eyes glistening with tears

"I told you I don't want ice cream but you insisted. Now , you're not talking to me"

"Adrianna, don't cry. I am the one at fault,I shouldn't have left you all by yourself. What if something bad happened to you, like when I got there and I couldn't find you,what if you had been kidnapped?There were some many things running going on in my head"

"I'm sorry,I caused you so much worries"

"It's okay, I'm not angry"

"I promise wherever I go,I will always come back to you. I will find you"

"Promise"

"Promise"

The siblings raised their pinkie fingers and crossed it together as a sign of sealing their promises.

*************Present

Adrian clutched his heart as tears fell freely from his eyes. She didn't fulfil her promise,she didn't come back to find me. He couldn't stop crying because her memories was in his head. For the past the years,he had been living in them. Now he had to let go and embrace a life without her.

The window blinds were closed, giving the room some cold aura and dark mode.

An ashen blonde haired woman peeped into the room,it was the same temperament from years... Maria Lou walked into the room not wanting to wake him up. The hospital had called her that Adrian has come out of coma and is now conscious. She tiptoed silently to the other end of the room,just as she was about to sit down she heard a faint voice calling her

"Maria Lou" she froze on the spot and inhaled a deep breath. How he could recognize her even when it was a bit dark. Didn't the doctor say he was sleeping? Although she had a feeling he was going to talk about Adrianna,but she couldn't kept quiet for the fear of upsetting him.

Her voice trembled as she replied," yes,Adrian"

"Is it true that Adrianna is gone?"he asked with his back turned to her. Tears poured out of her eyes,she covered her mouth from wailing.

"It's not true ,right?Maria ? Sis she will return to us , won't she? She said she would never leave me alone"

"Adrian,kiddo listen to me. Adrianna is gone,we will never see her again" she said amidst tears. She ran and hugged her brother, comforting and consoling him. She could feel how intense the pain he felt was,his body was shaking vigorously.

"I didn't want to go on the water.....I didn't want to go....Maria Lou put a hand to his lips to stop him

"Shhhh,no one wanted to go as well kiddo. It's okay, it's okay" she rubbed his back and they both fell asleep. Jason was moving around when he peeped through the glass and saw Maria Lou sleeping with her hands around her brother. Her hair was swept to the side, showing off her rosy red plump lips. She had no blankets on,afraid that she might catch a cold. He requested for a blanket from the nurses and took pleasure in covering her himself. He straightened her hair and staring at her lips,gosh it was so begging him to kiss those lips. He stood up straight and walked away.

**************Downtown

Aeritha had just finished working,she didn't have much time to clean up herself. There was still a bit of dirt on her,she wiped her face with her hands dragging her feet to the mall where she met her handsome Stranger. It has been exactly two weeks and there was still no sign of him showing up or something.

She was so tired that she didn't even know when. she toppled and fell.She tried to get up and then walked down to her home since she didn't see him. A group of girls walked out of the mall, laughing and hosting as they went. One of them stumbled on Aeritha as she tried to get up, instead of apologizing for bumping into her she shrieked like she had just seen the worst thing on heart.

"Omg, what's this? Are you even human? she yelled,she checked out her clothes and most of it was stained with dirt. Her friends yelled as they saw her clothes, Aeritha knew she was in a mess when she saw her clothes.

oh God,why is my life so miserable?she thought and bowed down to apologize.

"I'm so sorry,I didn't mean to" she tried to clean the clothes but accidentally more dirt were added. She felt that her life was over even before it started.

"Get your hands off me,you dirty peasant. Do you know much this cost? Of course,you wouldn't, worthless piece of trash. I could buy you with this cloth"

"I'm so sorry, I'm so sorry" she kept apologizing.

Victoria Lynch pushed her in the face and kept taunting her. She pulled her hair until her scalp hurts.

"How dare you? Do you know who she is? She's the mayor's daughter, you're not even worthy of carrying her shoes" one of her friends said.

That being said fueled Victoria's anger,she raised her hands to slap her when suddenly her hand hung up high in the hair. a young teenage girl appeared with an evil grin on her face

"Tsk, Mayor's daughter indeed? I am sure that your father will be so disappointed in your public conduct. just so you know,I have everything recorded,one more word and I will be posting this on the media,#angryunladylikemayor's daughter#. So behave well and drop your hands"

Victoria gritted her teeth in anger and left with her crew. Aeritha bowed to show her appreciation. Anitha just hissed

"You shouldn't allow this kind of people to treat you anyhow" Anitha said point blank with irritation in her voice.

"These people can't be offended,who am I? I'm just a poor unsheltered girl with no background"

"But still you should stand up for yourself, What's your name?"

"Aeritha", she replied shyly and looked down to her legs.

"You have a beautiful name , heyyyy. I'm Anitha Han" she said and slung her hands over Aeritha's shoulders.

"You mean Han from Han Corporation?" she asked

"Yup" Anitha replied so causally,The Han were like kings in the country after the Lee's. The Lee's were at the top,but still the Han's are by no means smaller and She just met one of them.

"Yah,we should be friends" Anitha said.

"Friends?"Aeritha sounded astonished when she heard. the word friends. It sounded so foreign and weird in her mouth.

"Yeah,friends. I have never had a friend before"

"Why do you want to be friends with a poor girl like me?"

"Why can't I be friends with you. Your background doesn't matter to me, you and I are so alike in many ways" Anitha said looking far away.

"Alright, friends"
